As there are different types of RS485 ports used on GoodWe inverter series, We will take XS and SMT as examples to explain how to install them.

For connection with SEC1000 use only PIN1 and PIN2 of the RS-485 conector, correct?
How can I use a max of 4 wires to communicate with both the remote energy meter and wifi module? I have the gw5038d es installed in the attic 2 stories up and no m 2:27 ore conduits available
Am I right to assume that using this connector is optional. I.e. I do not have a direct use to connect and have the WiFi module as well. Can I leave this port unconnected?
I have a XS inverter. We want to comunicate with it using Modubus RTU. Is it possible? The RS485 would be connected for it like is shown in this video?

The port on my goodwe GW6K-DT has 6 pins in a circle unlike the connector in this video.
Hi,VJ. Our inverters are all supplied with the compatible terminals, as there are different types of inverters with different terminals. Not all of them are suitable for the fast installation terminals. Please check the user manual of the inverter for detailed information about the terminal.
@@GoodWeSolarAcademy hmm ok, my gw6k-dt in India did not come with the connector in the box. Looks like I'm in a bit of a soup then.
