PLEASE continue to reference and test newer bikes against older benchmarks. Sure a new Yeti enduro bike dropped but how far has it really pushed the envelope against a 3 year old Enduro. Based on this review...not much. Very nice content.
I’d like to see slightly steeper seat tube, adjustable geo like the Stumpy with the option to mullet without need for 3rd links. But keep the suspension layout the same, works so well.
I'm home recovering from knee surgery,I'm enjoying the videos ... jeoules you guys get to ride multiple great bikes..😁😁😁... Keep pouring out the videos, very informative ....👍👍👍
in my personal experience, the kona process x is a more composed bike, does not get hung up as much, is more maneuverable, and does not wallow as much. ive done back to back testing, and i have come to a conclusion that they are around on par with each other.
I'd love to also see these bikes compared to the RM Altitude, that seems like the counterpart to the Enduro of couple year old bikes still better than 90% of the category.
I usually switch frames out yearly, but I’ve had my Sworks enduro custom build for over 2 years now and haven’t seen anything I’d change it for. Does everything so well, I’ve gone for a lighter build and it handles everything just fine :)
Just took delivery of my enduro frame Tuesday and the fox float x2 was aerated out of the box and fox is warrantying it. Sucks to send a shock with zero miles in for service
I’ve changed up my stumpjumper an ungodly amount from factory specs. It’s numbers and geo aren’t far off from some really bad ass bikes. I’d love to have one of these guys take it for a ride. Totally uninformed about its current specs and see what the have to say. 😂🤣
Have you guys thought about reviewing the Santa Cruz megatower? I’ve been looking at one for a while and am still not sure. I actually do have a specialized enduro in a S5, but I feel like it’s starting to get a bit small. I am 6ft 7in and I think the XXL megatower would fit just a bit better 😂 But I would love to see a review from you guys on the megatower!
Enduro with a coil will stick as well, but still playful. Loved mine, but im 6"4" and even in the bigger sizes, the stack height was just too small for comfort.
With bikes getting longer and longer I'd be curious to see what these guys think about a sizing system like Lee McCormick's RAD (rider area distance) system and how they would feel on a RAD fitted bike vs a longer enduro bike from the manufacturer.
RAD doesn't work with modern geo. Even EWS racers that size down are still well above RAD number. RAD would have Jack Moir (who is 6'1") on a bike with like 450 reach, and while he sizes down he's only sizing down to like 485 reach (he rides a size M Canyon Strive). RAD would have Jesse Melamed (who is 5'7") on a bike with like 415 reach, and he runs 449 reach on his bike (size M RM Altitude).
@@mrvwbug4423 Maybe, but they would have really high stack to compensate for the smaller reach. I'm not advocating for RAD per say I would simply like to have an expert analysis and comparison of it to a major company's modern geometry so I can understand each approach fully instead of just going by internet comments. McCormick gives a very detailed explanation of why he recommends his RAD, RAAD, SHO, and other measurements. I'd like to see a professional industry explanation for their measurements and a back to back analysis from a professional rider.
@@mrvwbug4423 You might be right, but I'm not sure if EWS riders who size down would be above RAD (Rider Area Distance). I'm 6'1" and ride a 2019 Trek Slash (enduro bike) size large. With a 40mm riser bar and a 32mm stem I'm riding the bike at a very close to recommended RAD. If I punch in the numbers for a modern enduro bike, say the Intense Tracer 29 the Large would definitely be above RAD, but the medium hits my measured RAD dead on. Once again I'm not sure RAD is the best way to measure, but I'd love to see it compared and possibly disputed with numbers from an industry expert from a major bike company.
Yes we like the high position in a lot of bikes as as spend most of our time on raw and rugged trails that aren’t always purpose built for mtb. So clearance and handling demands are different than modern day flow trails. 😆
You guys mention stack height in most of these videos. Why does stack height matter? Doesn't it just change the reference point for other measurements like reach and ETT? Is a 620mm with 10mm of spacers different than a 630mm stack? My understanding is that it is not different, other than that the reach shrinks by a few mm with the spacer (and the higher stack might make for a stronger frame and 630 cannot be made into a 620 which would imply that smaller is better).
It matters if you prefer a taller bar height than you can easily achieve with commonly available adjustments like ~30mm of spacers and a ~35mm bar. I have a 650mm stack, 30mm spacers, +10mm stem, 50mm bar and I don't want it any lower. I wouldn't buy a bike with a 620-630mm stack personally. Like most things (eg short chainstays), the extremes of the sizing spectrum tend to notice stack height more. It barely increases from M to XL on most bikes. If you have no issues with typical stack heights that's great, easier to pick a bike.
@@MostBallinestPlaya got it, that makes sense. But it does seem like they were making note of differences of 10mm and acting like that was a significant difference. 10mm of reach or wheelbase is significant but even 20mm of stack height seems negligible to me.
The S4 is likely what we’d suggest! But, you could go down or up in their size range if you’d prefer increased agility for tighter trails (s3) or increased stability for faster trails (s5)
The one gent in the middle mentions he’s the tallest but doesn’t say how tall he is. Any idea? I’m curious as I’m at 5’11 and torn between the S3 and S4
Ours didn't crack so we didn't have a word to say about it...? We also don't know anyone who has cracked one, but thank you for sharing your experience. Perhaps more folks also have had this issue and will share too.
That might have been the 2020 non S-Works frames. I know VanCan famously cracked his first Enduro frame very early on near the seat tube and got an S-Works frame as a warranty replacement. He's also EXTREMELY hard on frames (200+lb guy who goes full send on the North Shore) and has switched to alloy frames after he broke 3 Evil Wreckoning frames in one year.
I had 2 S-works frames. First cracked inside the SWAT Box, second hat microfractures all over the downtube. Thanks very much. We appreciate the feedback.
Agreed...was actually looking at the SB160 today and noticed it’s $1600 more than the S-Works Enduro frame…gonna be a hard no from me Yeti, sorry.
This bike will never be old 🔥
It's a ripper!
They really did one of the best mtb of history…is crazy
Got one with a WRP mullet link, over stroked coil shock due to the increased clearance and a bigger fork, making it about a 185/180 bike. So good!
How does it ride compared to a stock 170/170 enduro?
Just ordered an Enduro expert with a coil, sooo excited
Hope you enjoy it!
Specialized got it right with this bike. Interesting to see where they go with the next version: evolution or revolution?
I’d like to see slightly steeper seat tube, adjustable geo like the Stumpy with the option to mullet without need for 3rd links. But keep the suspension layout the same, works so well.
Im calling a mullet version with high pivot enduro
Just came out. Same exact bike but with UDH compatability.
The bike I almost bought but my local trails just don’t justify such a beast !! Thing absolutely rips though.

you really should test, probably for a race bike downsize to a M, its long enough with a 465 reach
Thanks for sharing! We'll see if we can get one to try out.

I have a 2019 specialized enduro comp and that thing still shreds. It could be a bit slacker and longer in the reach but god it's a great bike!
I usually switch frames out yearly, but I’ve had my Sworks enduro custom build for over 2 years now and haven’t seen anything I’d change it for. Does everything so well, I’ve gone for a lighter build and it handles everything just fine :)
I just ordered the same color 2022 (S2) as shown in this video w/ a custom build (pro) I’m so excited. IMO - nice video!
How tall are you if you don’t mind me asking? Thanks!
Laid up with a broken hand.
‘24 Enduro Comp’s came up under £3k!!
Got one on the way to replace my Polygon Siskiu N! Can’t wait
Literally just done the same thing! I saw the price and couldn’t believe my eyes at under 3k
No 2024 model. 2022 and 2023
I’ve been waiting for this review!
I’m building up one right now with a Zeb Ultimate and I am so fking pumped!!!!

I'm not as tall as you but the stack height was my biggest complaint as well.
Had mine two years and tbh I’m so happy with this smash wagon 170/170 and I ride it everywhere lol
You guys need to get the Rocky Mountain altitude there, Jesse melamed has been killing on it
True!! We’ll hit em up to get one for a post roundup review.

Spez is by far the best value given the past 2 years price hikes. Props to Spez for staying reasonable.

We have a written review on the Giga coming, stay tuned.

Tested in high or low setting?

How much Travel does the specy Enduro have in Front and Rear?
