    About
    He is famous for having an unusually wide vocal range and his ability to sing in more than fifteen languages. Dimash was born Dinmukhammed Kanatuly Kudaibergen in the Aktobe region of Kazakhstan on the 24th of May, 1994.
    When he was only five years old, Dimash began taking vocal and piano lessons at the children's section of the Akhmet Zhubanov Music College. He continued his training throughout his school years and eventually attended the music institute of K. Zhubanov University. He graduated in 2014 with a classical music degree centred on vocal ability. He continued his musical education by studying contemporary music Kazakh National University of Arts in Astana.
    He successfully received a Master's degree in Composition and was even recommended for the PhD program. Throughout his time at university, Dimash entered four major singing competitions in Kazakhstan. He won the National Zhas Kanat Contest with a perfect score of 180 out of 180, which was unprecedented in the competition's history. In December 2014, he was awarded a laureate of the State Youth Prize Daryn.
    He released his first album in China the same year, and it went platinum in thirty-seven seconds!
    Vocal range and style
    His sung range expands 6 octaves and 2 semitones, from C2 to C6 to F♯6 and, finally, D8.
    Occupation
    Singer-songwritermulti-instrumentalist
    Genres
    Classical crossoverpopfolkclassicalworldoperatic pop
    I cant say he is best singer in the world because answer will be subjective anyway thats question like which one is better Vincent van Gogh or Leonardo da Vinci but as amateur vocalist I can say technicially he is best vocalist who is still living in the planet not just because of he has amazing range but he mastered at every register and technics especially his flageolet register(his soprano falsetto voice) also his whistle register better then any male singer then I ever heard and his mix register technic incredible and he mastered at belt canto technics at level of opera singers

Dimash is by far an extrodinary and gifted singer, a prodigy that comes out of nowhere and takes our breath away... His voice agility and range from a C2 thru D8 surpasses any singer that is currently out there. It's hard to explain, but seeing and hearing a musical prodigy, seeing him work so hard and intensely and grow as an independent artist, conquering the world, all alone, without the help of the big producers in the music industry and the international mainstream media, to the point to change the traditional limits of music and create new possibilities to create new arts that touch the souls of millions of people is extraordinary! He gives us hope for our world. And everything becomes more special, because he is a humble, simple artist, respectful of everyone and with a heart full of love. The feeling it awakens in the audience is what makes Dimash special! He has a unique ability to hold your heart and soul, in his hands, with his voice that has a beautiful trend of vulnerability and power! When Dimash sings, he becomes the music itself!

He’s the Orpheus concept humanity has envisaged as the perfect singer, the epitome of voice and singing. I hope he comes to Canada do that I will have the chance to listen to him live!

    Thank you for reacting to Dimash. And wow an opera singer. What a coincidence. Dimash has been classically trained for almost 20 years now. He graduated from the University of Arts majoring singing. He keeps on practising even until now. So you are right... hours... in fact, years of practice.
    He has shown a range of 6 octaves (he still has more up his sleeves... since he has proven time and time again that he's an unpredictable singer).
    Please react more to Dimash. Would love to hear more from you.

      @Clark Kent from what I can understand that was a conscious choice as he wants to use his extraordinary skill to make lots of money for a long time.
      No one would question the ability, skill, training and technicality of classical opera singers, yet it's so competitive and there's very few careers available, meanwhile technique-less hacks incessantly make fortunes in pop. He's proper smart wanting to take the best from both worlds, even if it means on compromising on the specific technique you're referring to.
      Do you genuinely think he couldn't sing loudly if he wanted to? I can't but think he's making the choice to merticulously be over-careful of his most precious asset. This is consistent with his perfectionism in all areas of using his voice.
      Further have you heard him play the dombra?

    • @roseofsharon2523
      @roseofsharon2523 6 років тому +12

      @Clark Kent If one says Dimash cannot sing opera due to inability to amplify, I'd have doubts because he was offered a position with Astana Opera House which he turned down. He has also sung an aria 'Notre Dame de Paris' with Sundet Baigozhin who was a principal soloist with Astana Opera and is now soloist with Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, one of the top opera houses in Europe. No way would someone of Sundet Baigozhin's calibre sing with a mere 'pop singer'. And yes, they sang the aria onstage with no microphones.

Even more, I appreciate your breakdown of the piece. Even a novice vocalist can appreciate the way you mentioned that Dimash closed his vocal folds and used less air to produce a higher tone instead of saying, “Here he hit a D6,” etc. Very fundamental and useful commentary. His fans (called Dears) would love for him to be even more recognized around the world! Right now his biggest fan base is in his home country of Kazakhstan, as well as China (because of the show from the video you just watched) and Russia.
      The show in the video you reacted to is The Singer, in China, 2017. The show isn’t like most other competitions in that everyone invited is already known/established. Not an unknown/amateur hoping for a lucky break. At the time he was only 22 years old. He celebrated his 24th birthday earlier this year.

Then near the top, u had to close ur eye for a top note, then he climbs twice more into the stratosphere and over the TOP driving off a few notes downward... that was a rollercoaster ride!! Hehehehehe. It reminds me of the song from the movie 5th Element :-)... I'm bac... OMG... I keep rewatching ur expressions on the last runs... chit... hhhhhh... OMG. You could see the notes and tones with ur eyes closed to. U felt that and I saw ur feelings. Ty. gulp

    Yes!! Dimash is breathtaking, and it only gets better from here. He's got so many tricks up his sleeve. His vocal range is C2 to D8 I believe. I'm sure other people will leave recommendations but my favourite performances of his are Late Autumn, Give Me Love and Hello. There's also a compilation called Times When Dimash Had Fun With His Voice if you want to check that out, that would be interesting.

    • @ubervocal8777
      @ubervocal8777 6 років тому +15

      His range as shown in youtube performance only goes down to F2. There was a comment by vocal coach Emre Yuclen that he went lower in "Sinful Passion" but he corrected himself a little later that it was just an F2. Dimash's lower register is darker with more resonance now and that makes it sound lower. In practice, Dimash will almost certainly down to C2 and probably up beyond D8 because that's how you ensure that the range that you show the world is reliable and of the highest quality. As Dimash ages he will likely add to the lower part of his range and I certainly hope he shares it with us.

      In his Singer 2017 performance his lowest note is F2. I just checked the Bastau performance and there are some difficulties with the audio quality but I think it's also F2 done with vocal fry which makes it seem lower. These are two low notes I looked at: ua-cam.com/video/kN1gLc-4jm0/v-deo.html and ua-cam.com/video/kN1gLc-4jm0/v-deo.html

    You are right when you said he's more comfortable when he's doing headvoice in the high register.
    Like you said what is crazy about this is that not only he has so many textures and timbers to his voice which unbelievable but he masters them all, like he's great female opera singer, a great male, Opera singer, a pop/R&B singer, a rock singer
    Just wow
    Welcome to Dimash world

    • @CoasterIdiot802
      @CoasterIdiot802 5 років тому

      no. He is not more comfortable in a register where the larynx is tensing up his neck ffs. It may be easier for him if his lower notes are badly positioned and because of this tense up, but other than that, for a male to be comfortable in a range where it is unnatural to sing, regardless of how many octaves of range you have, is bullshit.

    It's wonderful to see someone with vocal training react to Dimash and explain some of his techniques. Dimash has been training since he was 5 years old. He went to an arts school were he was taught to play several instruments, given vocal lessons and drama. He then went to University studying music. He was accepted into an opera house after graduation but he declined to seek a solo career. He mixes opera with pop and folk to create a new style of music. He calls it Neo-classical . His mother is an opera singer and his father is also a singer /record producer. His younger brother and sister are also musically talented.

He has classical music training. His entire family are artists down to the grandfather. His mom is a great soprano and his father is also a classical music voice artist. @@Strelkovskaya he is fluent in russian so it's easy for him. Even though he is not fluent in french the emotion is there so we can feel it without understanding the lyrics

      i am french and yes, the pronunciation is not perfect at all but i don't care. i realy don't care, all my focus is on his voice, not on the lyrics. The song sound most better than the original singing by Daniel Balavoine (even if he was a great singer). ua-cam.com/video/9kZuDhuTkxE/v-deo.html (original song link).
      ua-cam.com/video/GGb0Sb5lvu4/v-deo.html (here an other version with a french young man who suffer of mucovicidosis and died 2 or 3 years later). So you can compare if you want.

    Thank you Linor. Love your first time reaction to Dimash. Welcome to his world. Dimash is a phenomenon. Your facial expressions tell the story of how you feel about him. It always makes me happy to listen to a professional singer witness the uniqueness of Dimash's talent. This was the first performance of China's Singer 2017 show. The audience and Dimash's fellow competitors had never heard him either, and as you saw everyone was in shock and awe. Please continue with Dimash's music journey to witness how far he has come in a short time. Episode 2 is Opera 2[Russian]. Greetings from Texas. DKIFC/USA

    Hey, one minute, let me tell you everything 😄 he is just 24 and he is singing for 20 years as you can see how much practicing that he did. Beside of singing, he plays lots of instruments like piano, guitar, drums, dombra etc. Actually he mixes all of the styles like opera, pop, rock even rap haha!! Everything fits him also everyone says him "alien" because of the range (6 octaves). He can sing with this range, showing us like everything normal and easy to do haha! and this tv show, the competition like The Voice. But the difference is the contestants are real famous singers. Name is The Singer 2017. Dimash was the one of the youngest contestant. Please react his other songs too like "Opera 2", "Adagio", "Late autumn", "Confessa+diva dance" "Hello", etc. Especially, I want to watch you when you react Adagio, you will shock again. Haha, I am talking about shocking but every single time when I listen him, I am shocking again. Therefore let me say you something too: in his Gakku concert he sang "Unforgettable Day(his own song)" which we heard the most incredible note as ever (D8) from a guy. We can't find it on piano hahah! React it also, take care 😄

    Dimash is one of the most talented singers i ever heard but i have to give kudos to this song as well. It shows what an amazing voice with the right song can do. Can move people to another dimension. Crying, close your eyes, tripping, feeling .. all kind of different emotions. It is crazy

    Wow - I have never heard of this young man. That was exquisite! I see, from some comments, that he has been training his voice since a young child. That makes total sense. I wondered about that while listening. I very much appreciated the precision of his singing, as well as the emotion that matched the lyrics. Another young voice to carry the best of music forward!
    And, again, thank you for the analysis and commentary. I'm so glad I came across your videos. I know how much I appreciate beautiful singing, but I have no idea how a singer gets that way. :) Whatever I'm learning just helps me enjoy the artistry and accomplishment of the singer that much more.

    Looks like there is not much I could tell you that has not already been said, so I will just say, Thank you for this reaction! I enjoyed your expertise and details and hope you continue to react and educate us further in the future. The experts are well aware of his tremendous hard work, it is those without knowledge who say hateful things and accuse him of using technology instead of skill because they can't believe he is real. Thank you again.

    There's a video on YT about Dimash. He was gifted with a six-octave voice range, so he isn't just "doing it" when he hits those high notes, his voice really can and does reach into the stars.

    as someone who can't sing but is a musician (guitarist) I just love his use of dynamics, vibrato, and different colors and feels while playing the same notes in order to express different emotions. this is a perfect case of it's not what you play (or in his case what notes you sing) but how you play it.

    Thanks Linor. One more reaction from professional point of view. I looked most of vocal coach reactions and your reaction deserves one of the top 10 reactions ever. There are so many fans now of our boy Dimash from Kazakhstan and every single professional reaction is highly appreciated and counted to the list of historical moments for Dimash. Thanks again and we wait for future reactions from you on Dimash
