There were quite a few of those types of rigs made up here in Aus as well.A range of different makes and models of tractor were used , haven’t seen one for years, they’re probably all down the scrap metal yard by now. Regards from Down Under.
This was filmed right at the end of August and it was about 95° out. The ground was extremely hard. They were in a drought. This was at a field demonstration so they were just showing how the tractor worked. Not really worried about covering a lot of acres with it that day.
Cable lines running from the first ones. Sometime at one of these Plumbing events I will try to talk to the owner of one and have them show how they controls work.

Those tandem tractors were popular back in the 1950s and 1960s from what I heard and read. Have you heard of the Doe tractor in the UK Jason?
How slick is that old setup Jason.... A lot of hrs put in taking care of that .
Iv seen them married together articulate the ol farmers says that necessity is the mother over invention ❤❤
All the wheel weights n still experiencing slippage. Bad for tire wear.

We used one 400 on 4 bottom did fine.
It definitely depends on Soil types. This was filmed in Central Illinois and the ground. There pulls very hard.
How is the 2nd tractor 🚜 controlled?
