Prepping a 52 Harley Panhead For a Valve Adjust

- We started to do a video on adjusting Panhead pushrods with solid valve lifters. But, stuff got in the way. So, that's why it's just prepping for the adjustments to be made in the next video.
Thank you for clarifying for me the 48-52 hydraulic valve train.
You bet!
Yep, it's always easier to just take that stuff off to get to things better, but we just try to save time by not doing that making the job take longer 😎. Lots of fun and satisfaction either way!
Well said.
Your bike is so nice her curves shining steel was made with love
I do believe so.
Hi Mike & Mike, thanks for another great video. "Petrol" is the contraction of petroleum in Britain and its former colonies, as "gas" is of gasoline in your part of the world. I don't remember the details of how the U.S. came to call it gasoline in the first place, but I think it was something to do with the application(s) of patents and so forth by certain individuals in the industry. I did see a video about it at some stage... Anyway thanks again, and I look forward to the next instalment. All the best from Oz! 👍👍🇦🇺
Thank You. I kinda hoped someone would run with that while I stayed on course. And you, sir, did not disappoint.
In Southern California we call it blastoline 😎
We've all run into one of those moments when a 15 minute job really takes an hour. Stuff Happens...
Yup. I just see no reason to hide it.
Or weekend 😆
Hey Mike I see baby dolls wearing some later style cylinder heads. I see the external oil line bosses
Yes. That would make them 62's.
I love when Mike uploads videos!
Thank You.
Mr MaGoo, thought the same when you said that !
The great Jim Backus was the voice of Mr. Magoo. You know, great minds tend to think alike.
@@pacificmike9501😆👍👍
Thanks for yet another interesting video, Mike and Mike. I just finished rebuilding a spare gearbox with an Andrews close ratio gear set for my Frankenstein panhead, and I can't wait to try it, but I can't bring myself to take that bike off the road to do the job. And I have other bikes to ride. So I understand putting off tearing down Baby Doll's motor!
Yes. Believe me: There's something about a Panhead...
That horn would be out of my way.
I'm an incureable romantic. I love it.
Hey Mike, I am ready for the new show. I am looking for set of 59 flh heads for my engine
Ebay, swap meet. I don't have any.
@@pacificmike9501 thanks 🙏🏼
Another cool Video about a cool Harley.
Thank You.
Always a pleasure you guys👌🏾 Loving the uploads.
Thank You.
Love your videos, so informative and entertaining. But Baby Dolls is show steeler.
Thank You.

It's cool. I guess it's been a long time since I removed the pushrods from that motor.
hello mike been going through your videos more and more and they are great.at the end of this one you show your front brake drum for your project bike. these videos are 4 years so im assuming the bike is done. my question is did you ever do a video rebuilding that hub and if so how can i find it / thank you
Go to UA-cam. Type in Pacific Mike. When our logo (Knuckle motor with lots of yellow) comes up click on it. Our homepage will come up. Click on the word, videos. They'll all come up with pictures and descriptions.
@@pacificmike9501 thanks very much i will manually search if i must but was hoping you could tell me a vl front hub video exist would give meaning to my search. lol
Hey Mike. Do you know where to get crash bars like are on your ‘52 pan head? Mine is a ‘82 fxrs. Love your videos. Thank you.
Try V-Twin (Tedd Cycle) out of New York.
@@pacificmike9501 it looks like they have a front bar. Thank you very much.
why didnt you remove the horn...would make it much easier to adjust front pushrods !
Could have. Don't usually.
Nice video!!
How many kilometer do you run, to adjust the valvles?
In all bikes is the same kilometers?
If she's real happy, she's fine. I'm only removing the pushrods so I can replace the pushrod tube seals. Solid lifters should be checked when doing normal tuneup procedures. Hydraulics shouldn't need to be checked once they've been adjusted.
Hey, Mike what is the correct name for those wrenches you are using ? you mentioned before but i do not remember.
Tappet wrenches.
Thank you, where can i get them?
Gentlemen, you flatter me, my ghast is truly flabbered,
for the words I choose are just my own, not swords from the English scabbard,
they come from deep within The Greenwood, for you to filter, ponder & muse,
(fresh moss is growing up my legs & the kettle's just blown a fuse . . . (mild panic)
-: Intermission :-
'Petroleum spirit. A petrochemical motor spirit, sold in bulk or cans & used by silly people'.
Rudolf Diesel, German biker (failed).
Dare I say, Baby Doll's 'little' job seemed to end up ever so slightly 'horn-swoggled' this time? : )
P.S. Permission granted - for life!
Thank You, so much. I'll require some serious practice to do you justice.
Best 'practice' session I know of; once you can quote Rawlinson End - you're 'in' England. Every word's a picture. Enjoy : )

🤙
Thank You.
you gotta stick your tongue out just the right way to get that pushrod out!! LOL
Check out the next video. I do get them out.
Frustrating part about machines is having to remove unrelated parts just to get to the motor. Reassuring to see a seasoned expert have the same frustrations.
Kinda happens when the camera is on.
20th! 😎
I'm glad you showed up.
@@pacificmike9501 👍👍😎

Hay Mike. In. Germany. A good belch. Or burp. Is not bad manners. It’s a complement. To the chef. It’s all about. Good will and a good complement. Lemay. Nelson. Vancouver Washington. Pacific coast.
I'm the chef, and the meal was not that great.
Not fuel. Not gas. PETROL. BUT. WE HAVE ALWAYS CALLED. GAS STATIONS. GAS STATIONS. SO. When I put my gas in the tank. I call it petrol. Just. Joking. Lemay. Nelson. Vancouver Washington Pacific Northwest.
We're open to our differences. My dad just called it "go juice."
@@pacificmike9501And we used to call it "motion lotion" back in the as well. 🙂 Cheers.
