works great. i love that it has stainless steal pot inside ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxG-7WiT7ocumjytOpHDFt632PL0pxXRAg and not the one with coating. we used to have a coated pot before, and the coating slowly peels, and i am sure went into the food that we cooked. Absolutely love stainless steel, and will not use a coated product again. This pot has many settings and many buttons, and i need to sit down with a manual to figure out which setting to use. I used the basic functions, and even though i am not technologically skilled, i turned it on and assembled it without any help.Very satisfied with this product overall.
I just unboxed my first instant pot. I have the 6qt Pro and everything seems so confusing and advanced compared to the basic instant pot models that most UA-camrs cook with. You're the first person to completely take everything apart in the lid without just pointing and saying what everything is. Thank you for a very thorough video.
I just got the Instant Pot Pro for Christmas today...I have never had an Instant Pot before so this is all new to me. I've always been a little nervous about pressure cookers. I came to look for some videos after reading the manual. This video came up first. It's very helpful. Thank you.
@Indigo you can turn off the beeps. When off, push the dial in until you hear a beep (maybe 3 seconds). It will say Unit. Choose F or C by turning the dial. Save/skip by pressing dial again. Choose sound on/off by turning dial. Press dial again to save and return to Unit. Press Start to save and close. Voila!
I just purchased an Instant Pot Pro. I love it! I didn't find the beeping annoying. I am a senior and find the sound very helpful. Thank you for your vedio. It helped me immensely.
Found your post tho 3 years ago very very helpful. Thank you. And same for L. Reuteri. You were one of the first I watched on this latter and also extremely helpful. Now to root around to see what you might have on gut and hair loss. Hey, can always pose this.... thank you.
When I take apart my Instapot lid, I always put the little pieces - like the little silicone cap - into a small custard cup. This ensures you won't lose anything. Just a thought. Love your posts!! 🥲🥲
I’m with you, I like everything you’ve shown on this new model except the dial knob snd that sound is definitely annoying. Glad you found the sound off 😀 Thanks for showing.
THANK you for such a valuable video. I just bought one and like you stated, I would RATHER have the +/- buttons apposed to the knob. I LOVE it! When come time to take the lid off, I take a cloth to always wipe the water out of the inside of the lid before I set it into the slot to rest, and leave it to air out, before I put the lid back on . I hold the lid above the sink when doing so. No problem with smells as I leave it open for awhile to dry. I bet you are so happy in your new kitchen/house now. (smiles)
This is the first Instant Pot I bought (arrived today). I bought it for the handles on the pot, and the "Fav" features. BTW, thank you for sharing how to disable the sound.
This is a super informative video, thank you for explaining how to operate the Instant Pot Pro so clearly. I am in the "decision stage" right now, weighing-up the pros and cons of each model, before making my final choice, so I very much appreciated your step-by-step instructions. Thank you again and best wishes, Annie. 🐱
Thanks for the vid. Your tutorial was very helpful. I am going to make my first-ever batch of the Super Gut yogurt tonight. I'm very excited to start this journey.
Thank you for this video. I've just purchased this model which is my first instant pot pressure cooker. I haven't used a pressure cooker for decades. I was not intimidated with manual pressure cookers. Sometimes reading comments on the Instant Pot Facebook group can be very confusing because they are talking about so many different models.
My son gave this to me for my birthday and I have watched different videos , but you actually did the best. I was setting the timer wrong I thought that was seconds not minutes, LoL 00:00
The last six seconds were very useful. The manual does not mention removing a protective sticker from the control panel. The sticker does not start peeling off easily, so I wasn't sure whether I needed to work harder at trying to start the sticker or whether I was risking mutilating the shiny control panel. The last six seconds answered this nagging question.
Thanks for this video. Just got the Instant Pot Pro and while I love the cooker, I found the manual to be miserably inadequate. You answered some of the questions I had been wondering about. I always look forward to your uploads!
It's hard to understand why they don't just keep all the good things about a previous model and just add upgrades... Why do they have to go backwards on certain things? 😂
I imagine turning the sound "off" also negates the "reminder" (5/10 minutes) alarm? The reason why a lot of manufacturers are going to knobs vs up/down is because they last a lot longer and the up/down gets used way more than the other buttons so they'd wear out a lot quicker.
RE: The Sound - Remember those of us who are hard of hearing. I never hear any of the sounds from my IP Duo. Just use your "Sound Off" button. Thanks for this video. I'm definitely going to upgrade to a Pro based on your input.
You Rock lmbo I openup the instant pot and seen all the different parts I never really read this instruction but this one here had to and so glad you broke it all down for me thank you so much you made it so much easer to work now!!
Because it's definitely confusing & intimidating. I'm new to instant pot, & I must say, idk which model to purchase, & once I purchase it, I know I will be confused as to how to use it.
Let's say you want to make yogurt and set it to 48 or 36 hours, can you adjust the temperature "manually" on these if you are on the "Custom" setting, to 100F, 105F, 110F, etc? Some pots do and some don't that's why I'm asking. Thank you very much for posting this informative video!
Hi Neil: could you tell me if the slow cooker works better on this model or the Evo Duo Plus?? I am considering buying another pot and would really like the slow cooker to work better. Thank you for your help.
Surprising seeing so many upgrading on the regular, I still got the instapot 8qt Wolfgang Puck version from 2013 with the analog timer only. It was about $130. Back then. Hard to justify the upgrading still using multiple Staub cast iron Braisers and Dutch ovens. Very interesting seeing all the upgrades with a modern pressure cookers.
Thanks for the video. I had the Duo Nova and the pressure release button broke and is not replaceable. They are unable to replace the lid so IP is sending me this new model as a replacement and can't wait to receive it. Their customer service is exceptional IMHO.
My apologies if this question has already been asked but you showed us how to turn off the sound which is great. However, doesn't that make the reminder feature obsolete?
Question. If you disable the sound, does that mean the reminders are silent too? BTW, I bought this same instant pot model inspired by your video about the yogurt. I just took it out of the box an hour ago, and my first batch of 36 hour yogurt is underway.
The extra ring is for when you want to make things like cakes and yogurt and you dont want your food to catch savoury odours from things like curry and chili!
Thank you very much. I was a lot less nervous having watched you run the test. BUT you really need to emphasize that there will be steam released from the float valve as the cooker builds pressure until the pin pops. I did not catch that on my first viewing of your video so when steam starting coming through the float valve, me and my daughter ran out of the kitchen. LOL When I went back and looked it was there on your video for a few seconds, may have been edited out for the most part. Anyway we are both alive. Thanks
QUESTION, PLEASE! Thank you -- so helpful! I have watched several of your videos and they are very good! I expect my new (first instant pot for me) Pro 6 qt to arrive today! I am quite excited. I am trying to figure out from other people's UA-cams whether the yogurt button lets me adjust the temp by DEGREES down to 100F to make L. Reuteri. No one, including you, has actually said (unless I missed it). I did watch you make a batch. Can you fill me in on that? Thanks!
The Instant pot Pro REPLACES the Duo Evo Plus. I set out to buy the Duo Evo but quickly learned that they're no longer available. I bought the 8 Qt Pro....as my first instant pot. I've been using it for a month now and so far, it's been great!
Owmy God you are th best talking about this pot explaining nice easy thank you hope your honest job God put it and save it in your book so you might need to use it when need it tank you again
Look forward to your comparison to the Duo Evo Plus - your video is what convinced me to by the Duo Evo Plus and I love it. Even my husband uses it every weekend to make eggs and he loves doing it.
I immediately got up in the middle of watching this and turned off the annoying beeps lol. Thank you.. subscribed! Oh and nice touch with the sticker outro. Lol'd a little there.
Maybe someone has already commented on this but there are a few videos on how to turn off the sound. The center dial on models with a dial -- push in for 5 seconds while the screen says OFF and there you can turn off the sound. Other models that have the -/+ buttons, same thing but push the minus button for 5 seconds. Some models you have to hit another button like start to complete the selection.
NO MORE SOUND! I tried this on my 3 qt IP and it does work. I pushed the minus button until I saw the display go from OFF to SOFF. After a few seconds, it will be beep and go back to OFF. Select Pressure cook and select your time and the sound is indeed off.
Super helpful video! I bought my 1st Insta pot and it is the Pro, so it was great to see all of the features! Do you have a cookbook recommendation? I feel like an Insta Pot specific cook book out be helpful.
I was going to spend the extra $20 oh sorry, 19.99 on the 8 quart model until I saw how little a difference there is in the 6 qt and 8 quart pots. Here are the dimensions folks. I really don't understand why they make such a similar size, please let me know. The dimensions for the 6 qt pot are 6.2 x 9.4 in, and for the 8 qt one 6.9 x 10.4 in.
Yep, I agree, the beep is extremely annoying. Hopefully you’ve figured out how to turn the beeps off, but if not, here’s how: With instant pot in standby mode (display will read “OFF”) press the dial and hold for three seconds. Units will appear. Press the dial again, and sound will appear on the display. You can turn on or off here, using the dial.
I just got the IP Pro60 recently. All my others are IP Duo 6Qts and 1 3Qt Duo Nova. This Pro is a beauty. Haven't used it yet but I love the upgraded features of the handles on the inner pot and the venting slide and that it Seals automatically when the lid is locked in. You mentioned that the inner pot can be used on the stove top.......according to the manual, it can also go into a 450ºF oven.
Hey, I am blind and cannot see the screen, & To use technology I use an screen reader on smart phones. I was hoping you could demonstrate the Instant Pot Pressure Cooker With WiFI item so I may know if it will work with a screen reader I will like to buy one for my kitchen? Turn on screen reader on your smart phone: Apple just ask Siri turn on voice over or Settings > Accessibility > Voiceover. Android, hold volume up+ and down- at the same time, or Settings > Accessibility > TalkBack. And will it work with Amazon Echo devices?
I generally prefer knobs over buttons, and have never been a fan of the membrane style buttons on Instant Pots. Unfortunately, the knob on this machine looks cheap and flimsy (like the buttons). I wonder which is the least worst option? Overall however, this is a great appliance that I will pick up as soon as it hits the Australia/New Zealand markets (soon). Thank you for another helpful review.
Brand new to your channel. I ordered the IP Pro on Prime Day so I am very thankful for this post. I only have the Lux IP and it still works like a charm. I make a lot of homemade yogurt in my crockpot so I am most excited to make it in my new IP. I will definitely be turning off that insanely high pitch beeper. Looking forward to your channel. 🌻💕☕️💐
Hi, I don't think you can get this anymore. I tried to find one that has custom temp settings in the yoghurt menu. This has turned out to be quite a challenge :D Do you know which Insta Pot does and where to buy in the EU? Thanks! :)
New to the instant pot! Received this one for my birthday! Sorry if this question has been asked. When it is building pressure are they always really loud?
Thank you that was a very good explanation you were so thorough and help me to make up my mind on which one to buy but I would love to have the crisper lid air fryer and I think that's called the ultimate but it's a little pricey.
I would think the steam no pressure would be good for making hard boiled eggs. which on steaming on my stove top, the shells come off easily without destroying the egg whites.
Anyone use this model for yogurt yet? Finding most videos do not use this exact model. There is low/high for yogurt. But do not see "normal" as older models on YT ( in recipes) show. No explanations for the Pro yogurt cycles etc... LOVE this pot. Looking forward to more recipes showing this pot in use!
Does the release reminder still work with the sound off? I see no reason for it to be beeping when I'm pressing buttons but it would be smart if it could still alert you when cooking is done or when to release pressure.
I want to make the Dr Davis (fermented Dairy product)/not yogurts. So I need to set the temps to 100F to 115F +- and hours to 36 and do sterilization of quart jars and utensils is it possible with these units you have links to in your description? (The instant pot pro 8q+6q) Anybody who knows for sure please reply....... So Im a bit confused which model do I purchase to accomplish the above question? Thank you for your videos and links which are highly appreciated.
Thanks so much for your reviews of Instant Pots. After your review of the Evo Duo Plus, because of the error codes (plus unavailability everywhere), we recently bought the IP Pro. It's been a challenge, but we're figuring it out, thanks to videos like yours. All you say is very clear, but could you also cover how one goes from Saute at High and then back to Saute at Low in order to simmer WITHOUT having to go through the long pre-heat function just to get back to "cooking" at a lower setting. There must be a way to bypass that pre-heat function when the pot is already hot and a person is simply trying to lower the Saute temp. The same problem occurs in some recipes when one goes from Saute to Pressure Cook and then BACK to the Saute function. That rarely occurs, but we happened to pick a recipe that does that and were so annoyed by that pre-heat function when the pot was hot. Can't the program in it determine it's already hot?! Your thoughts???? Thank you!!!
The Instant pot has a temperature detector so if the pot is already hot the preheat should at least be very short. If yours is sitting on preheat for too long it could indicate that something is wrong with the temperature detector
Is this the newest model? I just purchased the Duo plus (8qt), because I didn't see it in 6qt. I feel like it might be too big for my family of four. 🤔
The obnoxious beeps during programming can be reasonably muffled by setting the instant pot over a piece of thin microfiber dish towel (such as the blue or yellow ones from Trader Joe's) that has been cut down to a diameter that does not get in the way of the feet. That will reduce sound bouncing out of the bottom. Having the lid in place during programming will keep the sound from coming out of the top. If you need the end of cooking reminder beep to then be loud enough to hear when you are elsewhere in the kitchen, after programming you would then have to lift one end of the pot and slide the towel out, or lift and move the pot off the towel.
When the sound it turned off, will it give you a notice that the cooking time is done and what about the 5 or 10 min. release time? Will it remind you?
I came here trying to figure out if I was stupid or not, turns out the one I got today must be defective, because I can’t press the knob to go to the next option. Great video, didn’t even think about turning off the sound, my job has me dealing with stupid sounds all day, so this doesn’t bug me as much lol.

It just turns off the dial pad. Alerts like "burn" and end of the cook cycle will still sound. Otherwise the sound off would be useless.
Very great video lady. As a single man learning to cook this was really helpful.

I didn't realize the thing about being able to slip the fin in the lid into the slot in the top to hold the lid. So cool!

TY for showing us your new gadget of the Instant Pot! I love all of your new ggadgets, Tae your time with videos Stay safe
Thank good I was about to trough the pod due to this sound
If you turn the sound off, does that only affect the sounds of the dial & buttons? Or will it not beep when food is done too?
I would think the steam no pressure would be good for making hard boiled eggs. which on steaming on my stove top, the shells come off easily without destroying the egg whites.
Thank you so much for this video. I was perplexed!!!!!
In case if someone is watching this video now, duo evo plus is no longer being sold. Really good video though. Thanks.
Adding to my cart for prime day! Thank you so much for your great video!
Imjust ordered it today for Prime day
Best Instant Pot review. Very good job. Thanks.
I’m trying to decide between the pro and duo plus. I really can’t decide.
Same. Whst did you buy?
I Love this Post - amazing explanations!!!!
(The instant pot pro 8q+6q)
Anybody who knows for sure please reply.......
So Im a bit confused which model do I purchase to accomplish the above question?
Thank you for your videos and links which are highly appreciated.
When you lock the lid to cook, it seals automatically. No need to flip the lever to seal.
@@IndigoNili I just got mine and I appreciated you helped me lots keeps up your great job my dear sis ❤️
Great video. What’s the difference between the IP Pro and IP Ultra please ?
Is this the newest model? I just purchased the Duo plus (8qt), because I didn't see it in 6qt. I feel like it might be too big for my family of four. 🤔
Thank you for this video! My IP Pro is on its way to me so this was helpful, especially in regards to the beep!
Can the lid be hand washed?
Yes. Hand washing is great too 😊
The obnoxious beeps during programming can be reasonably muffled by setting the instant pot over a piece of thin microfiber dish towel (such as the blue or yellow ones from Trader Joe's) that has been cut down to a diameter that does not get in the way of the feet.
Do you make your L. Reuteri in the IP? Is the temperature adjustable on the yogurt setting?
Really helpful video! Thank you so much!
Does it matter which way the red pressure pin goes in? It looks like you put the solid part on top and the part with holes on the bottom (?).
I learned alot and thank you!!
Thanks soooo much for telling me how to shut the beep off
Turning the sound off is the ultimate winner!!
When does one decide to either do "natural release" vs "instant release" of pressure?
Do you do canning? I just bought mine for canning and need some guidance.
I came here trying to figure out if I was stupid or not, turns out the one I got today must be defective, because I can’t press the knob to go to the next option.
Great video, didn’t even think about turning off the sound, my job has me dealing with stupid sounds all day, so this doesn’t bug me as much lol.
