It's actually insane how much better Canelo got at English over the years. Now he's fully comfortable speaking without a translator on extended interviews and podcasts.
Edit: we got a lotta petty smart asses commenting. So lemme say this, you’d be surprised by how many people can move to another country and still never learn or care to speak the national language. I see it all the time. With Americans that move to other countries, and immigrants that move here. And no, stop assuming most people around the world can converse in English aside from basic greetings and words. Y’all need to chill lol

I love that Canelo took the time to learn English to better communicate with this fans here in the US that don't speak Spanish. That's a testament to how he is constantly working hard and improving not just in his sport but in all areas of life. Canelo is one of the best examples of a role model & the type of champion you would want kids to look up too in life! He so chill and confident since he knows the amount of hard work dedication and discipline it took to keep focused and never get distracted from his goals! That's something everyone can respect & I'm glad that we have someone like him be one of the GOATS of the sport! I wish we had more like him these days.

Huge shoutout to Canelo for taking this challenge on completely in a foreign language without an interpreter. He did a phenomenal job even though he probably felt like he wasn’t doing very well because it’s not his native language. I can speak quite a bit of Spanish and can carry a simple conversation on and even though I’m comfortable talking to certain people completely in Spanish. There is no way I could sit down for a podcast that you have no idea what they’re going to ask you. Just impressive how much better his English has gotten just from like two years ago. Being bilingual isn’t a big deal to some people and some make it look easy but it’s not easy at all! Love you Canelo, can’t wait for the next big one!!
