The greatest ever. More end of time, game winning shots than anyone. Dropped 47 on Portland left handed! When asked by reporters why he used only his left hand, he said, I'm saving my right hand for LA, we play them tomorrow night! Won 3 MVPs during the greatest era of players. 3 3 point contest in a row , one while wearing his warm up stuff! Played the last 6 years with a broken back and blown Achilles tendon! Because of his back, they took a stationary bike to all games. Larry had to ride it, 1-2 hours before each game, to loosen his back, up!! Was the first 50/40/90 guy. When playing the bulls in conference finals, swept them! As a rookie, on third day of camp, came out and told reporters, this league is nothing, I will dominate this league! Worthy said, he would rather guard Jordan than Bird! Made 2 shots on purpose from behind the backboard! Got the whole Atlanta bench in trouble, for his shooting display against them. When the rockets had the Twin Towers, they should have won 2 titles. Bird and the Celtics, stopped them! He's the goat. Maybe the only better player was pistol Pete, but he just burnt out too soon, plus born with a unusually small heart pump side. He once told an opposing player who has a good first half against him, " are ur parents here, cuz ur not gonna want them to see, what I'm about to do to you!" So Bird drops 27 on him in the second half, and also shut him down. He tells the guy after the game, " that was for ur mom!" Ice cold! He played during an era, when there was no hack a Shaq foul, no finger hand elbow or body check fouls. And when centers and power forwards would break ur bones and punish you, if you went inside!

Dominigue Wilkins "The Human Highlight Reel'. You might check him out. All class off the court, (love Nigue) but all monster on it. And Charles Barkley was a beast. A highly skilled beast.
Larry Legend is notorious for calling his shots. He would tell his opposing teams what he was going to do and proceed to do it. Bird was relentlessly savage. He played the mental game along with the physical game.
Have y’all checked out the complete compilation of his stories? Nick Smith took several versions of the same story and combined it with the actual footage, when available. It’s long but worth checking out.
8:24 the Rodman story needs a little context. Rodman had previously made a statement that the only reason Bird got the hype is because he’s white. He deserved his spanking. There’s videos about the incident, it was HUGE at the time. Bird was pissed, not about the comment but the distraction it caused. He was trying to get ready for the finals and had to deal with this.
One of the best stories is against the Pacers when Larry was at the free throw line. Reggie Miller started to trash talk him, "Hey hey-" "Rook, you gotta be kidding me. I am the best f-ing shooter in the league. In. The. League. Understand? And you're trying to tell me something?"
Or John Stockton's story about Larry walking over to the Jazz bench, standing there and saying, "Yeah I feel like...43." Then walking away and scoring 43 by the end of the 3rd quarter.
Aside from his natural ability and competivenees Larry truly did dedicate his life to basketball. Growing up poor in a tiny town, he was on a court every chance he got. That trash talk got in people's heads and threw off their game. Bird said he was mainly kidding about that looking to see who's coming in secomd thing. (His savagery was partly fueled by his rough upbringing and dad's suicide when Larry was in high school, after his parents divorced.)

One other stat I'll add. You mentioned he won MVP three times, but he was either first or second in MVP voting for eight consecutive years. The back injury made the final three or four years of his career sheer torture for him, and forced a retirement years earlier than he might otherwise have left the game. Very possibly the single greatest player in the game. He or Jordan.

dont forget he also won Coach of the Year ( with the pacers ), and also won Executive of the Year. Making him the only person in history with Rookie of the Year, Season MVP, FInals MVP, Coach of the Year, Executive of the Year. Add on top of that he has the second highest win % in NBA history behind Magic by only 0.5%. Swept MJ twice in a row in the play offs 6-0 and has a 23-11 season record against MJ. Making him the most successful player against MJ ever.
As odd as it is to say, I think people underestimated Larry Bird his entire career. Because he wasn't the strongest, or most athletic guy, they though "he's not gonna do that to me". But, his basketball intelligence was genius level. Look at the list of NBA greats that he embarrassed.
Bird had 3 consecutive MVPs, 2 Finals MVPs, became coach of the Pacers and was named Coach of the Year, then became President of Basketball Operations for the Pacers, and was named Executive of the Year, as well. The only man to ever beat every level of the NBA. And you gotta remember, he sustained the lifelong back injury that eventually ended his career in the middle of his MVP run. There's no telling how long that streak could've lasted, had he not wrecked his back.

You guys need to watch the video of NBA legends talk about Larry. One of my favorites is Ewing. He talks about how when he entered the league, all his boys from home were saying there was no way Bird was that good because he was white. He said "Let me tell you something...whatever you think about Bird, that's done. He's way better than you could imagine."
Larry could shoot with either hand, he was ultra focused, you could not break his focus, he psyched other players out, if they dissed him he scored more points on them. He is one of the most fun to watch and young players today could learn a lot from him.
The thing that makes Larry Bird so dangerous and good at trash-talking is he never says something he can't do he always make sure that he can back his words up.
Bird was cold, you need to check out "how Larry almost made a player commit suicide ". Also, Larry's greatest fights would really get you hyped, you'll be wearing his 33 shirt by the time you're done seeing his stories.
Now, name one other player who is in the conversation for greatest of all time they can actually make the claim that dominated somebody so bad the person legitimately thought about killing themselves🤣
Bird was 6’10” maybe 6’10.5” … he claimed he was 6’9” to get an edge. So his opponents would underestimate him. Go look at him stand next to Magic (he’s taller than the 6’9” Magic) and when he’s in Kareem’s face, he’s not much shorter than the 7’1” Abdul-Jabbar
@@NC-Mama-Bear I think he was more like 6’10” because Magic was 6’9” and he was taller. Plus, I saw him get face to face with Kareem early in his career and he wasn’t that much shorter. Bird is the type of dude who would lie about his height to get an edge. 6’9” sounds less intimidating than 6’10”.

Larry was like Ali, ultimate trash talker who could BACK it up! Back then the game was more physical. Now the rules have changed to protect the millionaire players. Ad the "Euro" step and now they "travel" so much they need to carry a passport! Larry is the GOAT all-around player. 3 MVP`s in a row!
Man, they left out one of the best stories. I think it was Craig Ehlo who was guarding Bird in a game in Cleveland, and Larry had a bad first half, or at least wasn't scoring. Walking back toward the locker rooms, Ehlo kinda smiled at Larry and said, "What are you, 1 for 10? Ouch," and Larry said, "there's two halves in this game." In the second half, Larry lit up Ehlo for like 25 or 30 points. Toward the end, Larry said to him "Man, is your mom watching? Cause I'm making sure I embarrass you." Daaaamn.

Love Larry Bird, fuckin legend. But LeBron, statistically, was all around a tad better than bird when it comes to averages. more points per game, more assists per game, better field goal %, and that is AVERAGE for 20+ years, by far the longest prime for superstars, Bird was a tad better at grabbing rebounds, more clutch, but LeBron is very clutch as well statistically, bird obviously better then lbj at free throws, which in my opinion is LeBron only flaw on the floor. Id also give the edge to bird when it comes to hustle. LeBron and Bird are very similar when it comes to passing, Lebron has countless highlights of bird style passes, lebron and bird are 2 of the best passers i have ever seen. Lebron hasn't scored under 10 points in over 1250 games, while bird has had under 10 points in s FULL game over 20 times in his shorter career, i remember a game where bird played 37 minutes with 0 points, was bricking every shot, another game he is 2 for 16, and many more similar games. Lebron just doesnt have those off nights, in my opinion the most consistent player of all time, all while getting attacked eveytime he goes into the lane, and does not get foul calls due to his size, same happened with shaq, they deemed these players to powerful to call close fouls , when other smaller players get the call. Whats craziest is lebron has a higher FG% then bird, DURING the 3 point era, 50% of his shots have been 15+ ft away, for not being known for a "shooter" to have a 50+% FG%, is crazy. Both are all time greats.

Lotta guys over the years told Larry to go look in the mirror, and he lit them all up to the point they all smile, and just tell stories now about how Bird owned them. Lol.
Growing up I was a diehard Houston Rockets fan and despised Larry Bird. I flipped off Bird and called him a stream of four lettered words at The Summit. As he ran past he blew us kisses and while looking at us drained a 3.
Just imagine how good players like him would be if they had to compete in today's NBA. Like if Larry bird graduated from Indiana this year and got drafted. I guarantee his style would be completely different adjusting to these athletic cats we got now. But I also guarantee some of these soft ass dudes would call him a racist or claim he did a racial slur towards them because they mad at his trash talking.
Larry bird and kevin We're here to play Houston in the finals. They got into a bar fight that night and then they beat us on the court that day L o l all the way home

You need to also understand that Magic & Bird quite literally saved the NBA. That isn't conjecture. The league was headed to bankruptcy at the end of the 70's, into the 80's. They aired PLAYOFF GAMES on tape delay. You read that right. The Magic vs Bird and Lakers vs Celtics rivalry saved the league. You wouldn't even be doing this reaction video if it wasn't for those two.
Yes, my friends, Larry was a real competitor. He's would score dead in your face. He embarrassed a hell of a lot of NBA players. Larry and Michael Jordan were the best of competitors and the best of friends. Bird always said he was "just a hick from French Lick." He wasn't very athletic, but he could get the job done. Most NBA players hated Larry, but most of them admired him also. A suggestion for you two guys: Work on your diction - for the first part of the program I couldn't understand most of what you said. Also, don't live your lives vicariously through these NBA players. You get YOUSELF in gear and get a "money making job." That means you have to have some kind of a skill that someone will pay you for having that skill. Watching NBA bull shit won't cut it. I like you guys - you are very friendly and funny. Thanks.
when the celtics were in indy, there were at least three times as many bird jerseys as there was any pacer gear. indy was basically a home game for boston while bird was playing.
IF YOU THINK HE WAS NOT THEE BEST EVER - you know nothing about basketball ..... and everything about self serving wishful thinking ! He was PHENOMENAL !
It's a decent video (the one being reacted to), but it does get two things kinda wrong/confused that always kinda bugs me. (1) The part about Larry complaining about white guys being put on him... the guy in the video makes WAY too much out of that. It was just a joke Larry famously made during his usual trash talk. It aint really that deep. (2) For the "trainer's lap" shot, the guy says that one of the Hawks falls into the trainer when it was Larry who (probably on purpose / being a smarta**) fell into the trainer. You can clearly see it's Larry in the video. Not really sure why the guy giving the commentary says it's a Hawk.
Larry Bird was a man's man. He would tell opponent what he was gonna do and dare them to try to stop him.
Just wanna say, love you two and your reactions to Larry Legend....brings me joy!

The difference is.. Larry backed up his trash talk!! What's that got to do with the bathroom?? 👀😂🙏❤😎.. He handled his business on the court.. PERIOD.
Bird won it while still wearing his warm up jacket. Everyone else was in their jerseys.
Larry told Wilkins he was gonna drop 60 on him that day and he did
Clyde the Glyde Drexlee was a great player! Bird is a legend!
Lotta guys over the years told Larry to go look in the mirror, and he lit them all up to the point they all smile, and just tell stories now about how Bird owned them. Lol.
That coach, DF, was celebrating Bird too but he still fined 3 of his players.
Pleasee react to Top 5 Michael Jordan saught revenge
Bet
Larry a small forward averaged more rebounds a game than Patrick Ewing one of the greatest centers all time.
automatic hands??? have you guys seen any of birds fighting videos?
Growing up I was a diehard Houston Rockets fan and despised Larry Bird.
I flipped off Bird and called him a stream of four lettered words at The Summit.
As he ran past he blew us kisses and while looking at us drained a 3.
Phi Slamma Jamma was the early 1980’s University of Houston basketball team.
Pull up Phi Slamma Jamma to see them.
Bird is from French Lick Indiana.
I fear your channel is going to be short-lived. We knew what you meant.
Legit reaction channels pay for the $11.99 commercial free subscription. Im not gonna lie.
If you haven't, watch Larry 50 greatest assists (reedit).....
You talking about the merry Fing Xmas you'd have to fight
Remember the legend was about that smoke
He was a scrapper
Larry is the opposite of LeBron in the last 30 seconds.
Larry was 6'9 230 .
Ya'll ain't fuckin with Larry ...
Larry bird and kevin We're here to play Houston in the finals. They got into a bar fight that night and then they beat us on the court that day L o l all the way home
Respect for catching the cock the arm! I watched that fight live and that was a good one. He went up to heavy weight and won a belt.

No other 5 can beat MY 5...,!!! Lol
Wow. Lol!
Larry was the one to purposefully fall into the trainers lap and the 3 wasn't counted which i thought was bs
Why are your mugs so big and the action so small
Check out Larry Bird verses Michael Jordan best story ever told MJ never beat Larry Legend 🐐🐐

Larry would beat this guy today. lol
It would take more that the two of you to carry Larry's jock.
If you would listen and you guys missed it.. Out of the 47 points 27 points were with his Left Hand....
If you would have said that to look in the mirror, I'm sure he would have been scared to death
