holy crap that's by far the best detailed review I've seen on any of these shoes. My feelings are basically the same. Keep up the great quality of work my man !!!
I can see adidas is making good use of the so called burrito tongue design since tubular shadow; I personally think the pure boost black and white looks great on feet; it gives you more urban stylish look but still comes with a lot comfort; however, the NMD and ultra boost doesn't seem to be making any huge progression these days; they just copy and paste with different colourways, but still have chance of selling out instantly lol; BUT eventually hopefully during this year of 17, adidas is going to massively produce NMD and ultra boost, then some people don't have to pay for resale price if they can't get a pair in retail price.
Yeah the UB and NMD should be shoes accessible to anyone, except for certain limited colourways and collabs. Agreed with what you said! Thanks for the input.
The Pure Boosts I bought in August 2017 have a sole so they must have added it after the fact. Some other UA-camrs say that the PrimeKnit wears thin with extended use so I would prefer the CircleKnit as it is more durable IMO. I have never liked the look of the NMD R2s. No attitude on the video - I like that Sean. Thx.
I hate the way my toes/forefoot slop around in primeknit. Circleknit is supposedly a "downgrade", but it's actually a much better material in terms of support. I bought pureboost in my usual size and I thought they fit perfect...but, after a few weeks, they did stretch a little and now I wish I woulda gone down half a size. I might have to put insoles in mine to fill in the extra space (and bump up pureboost's low arch support). Overall, love pureboost and they look so much better on feet than in photos.
This is first time watching ur channel and man i gotta say that you are so passioned, good, amazing and giving out so great content. You will be taking Set Fowler out in no-time. Keep up that good work!
Awesome review thank you. To my understanding the reason that the pure boost material is my firm/dense is because its actually much more water resistant to the others which can be a huge bonus. Also from my testing with pure boost and ultra boost, the pure boost allowed for more natural foot shaping and weight distribution from heel to ball when standing and walking. However, the ultra boost had extra height in the heel, this was a big turn off for me because it affects your natural plumb line and put you in a constant forward lean which you would only want if you only use for running. Also with the incline from the heal, for daily where it leads to increased tension and tightness in your hamstring muscles. I did also experience the fatigue you mentioned from the ultra boost been overly spongy, its a good show for diabetics.
Adidas sizing is driving me crazy! I got my first NMD R1s, the triple black stretchy mesh TTS and I took them back. There was way too much room in the toe box for a shoe like that. I actually like my Ultraboost 3.0 TTS because my toes touch the ribbed toe cap. I'd like some opinions on the NMD variants as I plan to explore them after recently becoming a fan of the Yeezy 350 V2 and Ultraboost 3.0. The PK material and Boost combo has seriously won me over. Great video Sean.
You have to consider the thickness of the cloth too.For example the pureboosts have pretty thick cloth so it kinda makes it smaller inside and you could go for half size bigger. The NMDS and other with more flexible-thin material go true to size.
Great content man, just subbed. I do have a question for ya I hope you can answer: which shoe would you recommend me to buy between the Ultra Boost and the Pure Boost? Ive never owned a Boost pair before btw and I do tend to walk a lot and be on my feet a lot (10-12hrs a day)
Pedro Soto I know you’ve probably chosen, and I would’ve gone with the ultra boosts at your time. But now with the new pure boosts that look so clean and sharp, I would’ve gone with pure boosts
This was a very comprehensive review. I have a pair of ultra boost atr’s and a pure boost. Atr’s for wetter/colder and the pure boost for treadmill and sunny days
Are the pb midsole is mushy or firm? How can you compare the softness level versus the ub's? Btw is there a pb 2018 model? Whats the upgrade if there has.. Thanks
I got the DPR light blue color way and I do not regret purchasing it, would love to purchase another pair if possible It's just the right amount of cushion for athletes, guys that are always on the move.
I think you did a good job and the stabilizer on the R2 only affects people with low arches (flat feet) my arches are not completely flat but flat enough where I can feel it. An after market insole will fix that if it’s that bad of a problem. As far as the two shoe options not having a insole, that is done on purpose because it’s using outlast technology, so that was done on purpose they are not supposed to have a insole because they want you to experience the boost technology differently giving your more of the boost effect I guess
In my opinion Pure Boost is the best looking shoe in your review. Ultra Boost looks good but not in that colorway. Multicolor and Bronze Boost are my favorites. I especially like it when the cage is made of leather. It gives so much premium aspect to the shoe. The second version of the Ultra Boost 3.0 Triple Black is also an awesome shoe. NMD R2 needs to be in another colorway too. That one looks really weird. Ultra Boost feels maybe a little bit too plush if you are not a big guy and the Continental outsole is very good for running but if you wear shoes casually the durability is not an issue. Actually it is better to see the outsole wear like the case if for NB 574 because then you buy a new pair before the lack of cushioning starts to cause problems. Of course the reason that Ultra Boost has so much cushioning, the primeknit on the toebox will probably be torn before the cushioning will be finished.
The outsole that is in the midsole is for arch support, while running or walking. Provides more stability. Pure boost is completely redesigned for Urban Environment running. Meaning on the street, not for trail, grass etc.
Own both ultra boost and pure boost. Didn't bother for nmd since I didn't like the feel. Ultra boost upper is nicer and much more comfy. But after I added my air Max in sole to pure boost that became the most comfortable shoe I own. So if you get a pure boost. Try adding a decent in sole and it will become next level comfortable...
I actually like the different color of the cage on the UB, not for evers pair tho the black one you have I think it doesn't look good but on my Oreo's it looks great imo!
I'm probably a rare case, but i like the pure boost the best. It's the cleanest looking shoe, also love the wide forefoot (like the yeezy boost). NMD looks weird to me, R2 is better because it's missing the lego blocks, but the overall shape is a bit too wedge. The UB is ok, but i don't like the look of the cage.
I think the Pure Boost look the best. I think the major reason the Ultra Boost are more expensive is because Adidas use Continental rubber and pay Royalties.
It is possible that the PB use Continental rubber without having the brand logo on it. The reason to have Continental logo is to market the UB using the Continental name, and they have to pay for trademark/licensing which can contribute to higher price of UB when compared to PB. People see Continental logo "oh it must be good". By not having the logo on it, Adidas can save up from having to pay extra for the license, but still using Continental as the oem supplier (a.k.a vendor) for the outsole material.
I have all of them. The Pureboost is the most confortable by far true to size. Also much more ventilated. I also have the Ultraboost 3.0 Multicolor LTD and I had to go 1/2 size up and still it's a little tight on the sides. Maybe my feet that are a little broad but the cage gets uncomfortable after a while. NMDs are a different beast. confortable but not as confortable as the Pureboost. Looks I love those Pureboost, second place the NMDS and third the Ultraboost they are too sporty.
i def agree with soles being too soft.. it ends up hurting the supporting and stabilizer muscles of your body from feet on up to your back.... too soft is BAD. pureboost is perfect
store.nike.com/ca/en_gb/pd/air-jordan-12-retro-cny-older-shoe/pid-11400784/pgid-11881442?cp=gsns_aff_rak_5GIR4hnAhLo&ranMID=41134&ranEAID=5GIR4hnAhLo&ranSiteID=5GIR4hnAhLo-o9cS4LAHhBpQWN0m4IWQ6g what size are these extended too?
That PURE BOOST is so much better than ultra boost IF you can get them in discount!!! I have pure boost clima version its same than normal but with better cooling material. I got my for half the price of ultra boost. get the PURE BOOST !
I have very flat/wide feet so will the ultra boost still be the most comfy? I have heard some people say dat the nmds/pureboosts is more comfortable for people with wide feet. I have a pair of ultraboost ltds and it is very comfortable for me but it is not like wat is use to be(I only had these shoes for a few months). I use to feel like I was stepping on babies but now it's still comfy but not as good as before. Thx in advance for anyone who responds
I thought the NMD R2 and pure boost felt pretty similar in comfort. There is barely a noticable difference IMO. I actually liked the alpha bounces over the two though hehehe ....
I love the way alpbounce look (very futuristic and sporty), but the sole is very hard. Pureboost look just as good...but you have to actually lace them up on your feet to see their beauty. I ended up buying pureboost just for the cushy sole...only when I put them on did I realize how great looking they are.
I couldn't resist and bought all three. hehe. Pure boost and nmd's are not good for prolonged use though. I've worn them for a long time and walked in them and I have to say, my feet started to hurt. I need to test the alphabounces out to see how they hold, but yes they look good. I think it might be an acquired taste though.
Great detailed review but disagree highly with the comfort and the look scores you gave the pureboost. The nmd R2 is hideous got rid of the thing that made it so popular the 2 blocks on the side but gets a higher score in looks? lmao.
I think ultra boost are way over hyped, basically adidas version of a flynit runner which Nike has been making for years, the pure boost look so savage to me to say the least, so many different styling techniques likes how wide the laces reach and the width of the outsoul, plus I think the knit on them looks a lot cooler than ultra boost
Sean Go 3:24 - This means the UltraBoost is MORE Plush and LESS responsive, and the PureBoost, is going to be LESS Plush and MORE responsive. In basketball shoes, you give up one to get the other. A more plush setup means it'll be less responsive and will take you a little longer to switch directions. A more responsive setup will allow you to switch directions faster, but you will sacrifice some of that plush impact protection.
3:44 - 4:02 - That's CRAZY talk!! If you're going to be on your feet all day, the ONLY wise choice, is the Ultra Boost 3.0. If you own both the PB2017 and UB3.0, and you go to, let's say, Disneyland... If you choose the PB2017 over the UB3.0... You MESSED UP! ...just sayin'.
For me if there's too much cushion under my foot it has to over compensate for the mushiness of a shoe like the ultraboost. Without an orthotic insole in there to stabilize it my feet will start hurting. I'll take less but more stable cushion any day.
I walked around New York for 15hrs over 2 days and after I was done my feet didn't hurt or feel tired at all (wearing the PB2017). I walked around Toronto for 3hrs in the Ultra Boosts and my feet got tired because it's too responsive...it has too much cushioning. That's just my 2 cents.
WHAT A NUB the reason the NMDs are not as comfortable is not because of the block on the side it is because it is not 100 percent boost! Only because it likes like it has more boost it doesn't mean it's more comfortable.NUB also jk about the nub thing
I feel like the boost was slaking in terms of comfort but as i wore mine it became better, and i personally don't mind the instep brick, but that just preference.
I'm pretty new to your channel, and this is the first review of yours I've ever watched. You definitely deserve more subs.
Thanks for watching man!

I actually look forward to your videos over anyone else I'm subscribed to. I'll rate you on my top 5 you tubers :)
That means a lot Oscar. Thanks 👊
I really want that information from so many days. You solved my problem. Thanks for the video.
Glad it helped
I've got 5 pairs of R1s but after seeing this review I've been compelled to get some R2. Good Job.
I got the 'digging' sensation in the r2 when I fit in a larger size. When I went tts, it's really comfortable. Great vid man!
Awesome review thank you. To my understanding the reason that the pure boost material is my firm/dense is because its actually much more water resistant to the others which can be a huge bonus. Great review man! May need to create a sequel to this comparison by throwing in the EQT support 93/17 (w/ the boost) once those release =)

Great review !!!!
Do you wear your collection sneakers daily ?

You're super knowledgeable of your shoes . Great job !
Elegant Ninja Thanks!!
This was a very comprehensive review. I have a pair of ultra boost atr’s and a pure boost. Atr’s for wetter/colder and the pure boost for treadmill and sunny days
got the pureboost for 60 euros! absolutely love them. and a 14 in my nike basketball shoes still fits like a 14 in these. nice comparison!
Good stuff!! I liked, commented and subscribed. Awesome review and comparison.
Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the support from Indonesia 🇮🇩👌🏻

Lol thanks dude!
I've seen some of your pics on instagram n wondering what camera do u you use?????
I use a Nikon D600
Hey Sean, should I sell my R2 for Pure Boost? Please help!
Tough call, I would probably pick the PB over the R2 but depends how you feel on their looks
Great review man!
Thank you
That's why I got the Wool 3.0 so I don't get that wacky 3.0 cage
FernandoPacheco ishere Which colorway?
offline dude utility black, they have a 3-D printed heel cap and the Cape is plastic, not that see through 3.0
FernandoPacheco ishere sammmee broo ULTILITY BROS
Edgar M. AYEEEEEEEEEE, I already got a scuff on my boost and I can't take it off with crep, so imma use the oil based sharpie
Good vid Rasta ✌🏿🤘🏿
I actually like the different color of the cage on the UB, not for evers pair tho the black one you have I think it doesn't look good but on my Oreo's it looks great imo!
So all of them can be used for walking but nmd cant be used for running right? Cause I'm looking for a shoe that can be used for running and walking
Ultraboost can be used for running and walking
@@SeanGo ok thanks!
Buy what ever u consider comfortable everybody's comfort level is different
A J Yup, obviously this is just my personal opinion
Great video! Subbed!😉👍
Thanks Elias!
Are the ultraboost ok if you have wide feet?
my opinion:
1)nmd r2
2)ultra boost 3.0
3)pure boost
James Morley FACTS
The Grey White colour way for the nmd_r2 looks great in my opinion
no. pureboost #1
Would you recommend the nmd r2 (non pro), pure Boost 2017 or the alpha bounce em for everyday shoe

Pure Boost 2017
Wow. Great review!

ty sean ;)
still good and comfy*
How do you get the pureboosts in Canada?
I got them early from Finish Line, but they release in Canada tomorrow at Foot Locker and Adidas.ca
The NMD R1 look the best.
Vik nou
thats pretty gay
Vik no
I hate the NMD's personally, and I think the ultraboost and the pureboost come at a tie.
Deimos Phob i agree that the pure boost and ultra boost are a tie but the nmds are lit asfff as well
I think the Pure Boost look the best. I think the major reason the Ultra Boost are more expensive is because Adidas use Continental rubber and pay Royalties.
Pure boosts actually use Contiental rubber
Kieran Antonio how do you know? It definitely doesn't have the logo
I think I read it somewhere but I am sure
It is possible that the PB use Continental rubber without having the brand logo on it.
The reason to have Continental logo is to market the UB using the Continental name, and they have to pay for trademark/licensing which can contribute to higher price of UB when compared to PB. People see Continental logo "oh it must be good".

I have pure boosts and I also have nmds R2s now I need Ultraboost and Yeezys 💪
1. ultra boost
2. NMD R2 Primeknit
3. Pure Boost
J8red The Great 👍🏼
I agree 100%
Pure boost are the best
Joseph Davies I agree dog. I got a pink and black pair with black boost.

Big Sal Thanks!
Thanks for the input!
2 years later got the pure boosts at marshalls for $60
subbing, keep it up!!!
Everything I like about the Pureboost is what you dislike, so yeah, shoe tastes are really subjective!
Totally agree with u bro but the ultra boosts have the best fit out of the three and for most of the people they fit tts so yeah
if i wear a US9 stan smith what size should i get for the nmd r2?
Probably a 9.5
i def agree with soles being too soft.. it ends up hurting the supporting and stabilizer muscles of your body from feet on up to your back.... too soft is BAD. pureboost is perfect
is the r2 reselling high? i want to buy one
Nope they aren't reselling for much, if at all. Can probably find them for retail prices still.
i want to get the r2 but i wondering if the Jordan 12 "CNY" are going to be an easy cop if not im just going to buy the r2
Probably not that easy, but depends on your area and how many stores will be carrying it too right?
store.nike.com/ca/en_gb/pd/air-jordan-12-retro-cny-older-shoe/pid-11400784/pgid-11881442?cp=gsns_aff_rak_5GIR4hnAhLo&ranMID=41134&ranEAID=5GIR4hnAhLo&ranSiteID=5GIR4hnAhLo-o9cS4LAHhBpQWN0m4IWQ6g
what size are these extended too?
Is there any way to remove the plug?
Is it a good Idea to do it?
Don't do it lol
Why
You don't want to leave a huge hole in the side of the midsole lol
Oh shit. But is it possible?
I had to go a full size up for the UltraBoost, they’re quite narrow in my normal size.
I love the pure boost, I wear em everyday.
Nice video ! Greetz from germany :=)
Thanks!
That PURE BOOST is so much better than ultra boost IF you can get them in discount!!! I have pure boost clima version its same than normal but with better cooling material. I got my for half the price of ultra boost.
get the PURE BOOST !
I got NMD R2 pk for $140 from foot locker and I'm pretty pleased
Nice one!
Do you know what responsiveness means in terms of cushion, cause it doesn’t mean it’s soft fam..
Jevel Esguerra No it’s the energy return upon impact
Pureboost 2017 is $78 for a couple sizes on amazon in the colorway from this video
Pureboosts are more wide foot friendly, the forefoot area is pretty generous.
Sean Go thx I'll try out the pureboost next time
stepping on babies
I thought the NMD R2 and pure boost felt pretty similar in comfort. There is barely a noticable difference IMO. I actually liked the alpha bounces over the two though hehehe ....

that R2 is sick af
Great detailed review but disagree highly with the comfort and the look scores you gave the pureboost. The nmd R2 is hideous got rid of the thing that made it so popular the 2 blocks on the side but gets a higher score in looks? lmao.
I wasn't a fan of the lateral side blocks of the R1. I find the R2 from a looks perspective looks a lot cleaner overall. Thanks for the input man.
I think The material Of The pure boost drill Bert Good and comfy, you should give it 2 stars
damn why am I just finding this channel now????
Better late than never! Thanks!!
Ultraboost 3.0 just stay true to size don't go half a size down or up like really. Honest opinion here
Nah TTS on UB 1.0 & UB 2.0, half a size down on UB 3.0
fresh shirt buddy 👌
The best for run?
Berto Mamesah ultraboost
Sean Go thx dude
you just compared 1 lifestyle shoe to 2 running shoes wtf
PowerZ a comparison many people deem worthy/are interested in. Most don't even run in these shoes lol.
i think the pure boost looks better then the nmd r2. so...
1.ultra boost
2. pure boost
3. nmd r2
You know the outsole is their to support the arc of the foot when you run
Luis Zubieta Supposedly. I personally didn't feel any noticeable support.
NMD's are my favorite looking ultra boost are my fave in comfort , pure boosts are really good gym shoes and casual shoes while having a rocking price
Nmd r2 or pure boost?
Pure Boost
Sean Go alright, thanks :)
R2 PK are easily most comfy man.
Kritos To each their own 🙏🏼
for me ultraboost is top 2nd is nmd 3rd is pureboost
I think ultra boost are way over hyped, basically adidas version of a flynit runner which Nike has been making for years, the pure boost look so savage to me to say the least, so many different styling techniques likes how wide the laces reach and the width of the outsoul, plus I think the knit on them looks a lot cooler than ultra boost
3:24 - I don't think RESPONSIVE means what you think it means.
Feedback and energy return you feel when you walk, is my thoughts

A more responsive setup will allow you to switch directions faster, but you will sacrifice some of that plush impact protection.

If you choose the PB2017 over the UB3.0... You MESSED UP!
...just sayin'.
Thanks for your opinion, but that's just how my feet are/react to cushioning that's too soft. Thanks!
SuperBizalz Ha I went to Disney World 2 weeks ago with my UB uncaged.
Thats true, i cant use the R2 a whole day, UB is the way to go in that case.
WHAT A NUB the reason the NMDs are not as comfortable is not because of the block on the side it is because it is not 100 percent boost! Only because it likes like it has more boost it doesn't mean it's more comfortable.NUB also jk about the nub thing
I disagree with you're r2 ratings
Cool, what is your opinion on it?
I feel like the boost was slaking in terms of comfort but as i wore mine it became better, and i personally don't mind the instep brick, but that just preference.
Thanks for the input. To be fair I've only worn it a couple of times so you may have a more accurate gauge on its comfort.
I got my nmds for 91 usd
Dammit I don't understand Canadian dollars
