Ah yes, this death. You cannot go to Pocket Plane in combat, because that'd be absolutely stupid. You could win any fight in installments. "Ooops, I'm losing, time to port out, even companions that I lost control over, because what the hell".
This only works in the beginning of combat, because "isCombat()" (I don't know the exact function name) checks for change every 6 seconds (on 30 fps) like Find Traps, True Sight, no magic zone etc. If it was a modern game, it'd do it at least every second, if not frame. There are mods that make True Sight instantly dispel illusions which makes me think it was a deliberate decision to go easy on early ~2000's hardware.

I know right! I remember when I first entered watcher's keep not knowing what hell I'm about to step into. When I finally finished it and somehow defeated Demogorgon, I thought to myself "Man... If I was there, I'd just toss my sword aside and drop face first on the ground just as soon as I got out of the keep.
I mean really, seeing the outside after a rough battle like that can be downright refreshing.
i save skumed that room took me like 43 attempts, great run.

I thought that was one of the most disappointing deaths. It wasn't really Davaeorn's fault. I guess when you go to a new room in the randomized maze, you have to have super-fast reflexes to pause and pocket plane. Otherwise, you just die horribly as happened here. That's not really what you want in an RPG, IMO.
Well he plays on max difficulty ironman + additional difficulty mods, yes that's not usually what you want in an RPG
He also has the added difficulty of doing all this while streaming and keeping the viewers entertained! Hopefully, in future runs he will have worked out a strategy for dealing with this part of Watcher's Keep. Watching him get this far and die horribly was very painful!

Yes and no, I think one if his party got instantly held. Honest that's a 2% survival situation. Even with out the random maze that room is a pill.
Hey Dav! I would like to know which version of the SCS you would recommend to a beginner. The point is that I would like to try the most stable version without bugs, it is important to me! Thanks in advance and bless!

I don't get it, why was he surprised by the Ka'rashur fight?
Dav installed a mod to randomize the watcher's keep maze, making it exponentially harder as you can't possibly know what'll hit you in the next room
@@herrthervan3457 ok so tha't's an extremely dumb mod if youre going to go from room to room without buffs and just expect to pocket plane. he spent hours and hours on this character just to learn that sometimes you can't pocket plane because the check happened before you hit pause. i'd say youd fail 1 out of 6 pocket plane escapes since it checks every 6 seconds and if it happens to check on the second you try to leave you're not leaving. Dav should have known better.

Randomized maze makes it so that it is possible to have wild magic/no magic zone before demon fight and you really don't know whether you'll meet them next room. So you mostly run unbuffed through the maze and have no idea what happens next room. Fun mod except insta attack from demons rooms (you basically have to pp out or just die since if ur going from no magic room to this one you can't use magic till the end of the round while unbuffed while the demons can so your mages just pop).
