How come in South Africa we have to told by foreigners of how rules our country and this thing of South Africa belongs to all who lives in must end because that wont happen in Zimbabwe and Nigeria or Palestine i cant own land there
There's a Minister there in Zimbabwe who says that no spaza shop owned by a person who is not from Zimbabwe will operate in that country. A whole Minister. But in our country a Minister wants to enforce immigration laws and he's being dragged to court by the citizens of the same country who will not let those who are not of that country operate a business there. The hypocrisy of it all.
Bad journalism, everything they are reporting here is not whats happening in south Africa 😂😂😂. The must tell you exactly why those shops are being closed😊
I am a white South African. I do not condone violence of any kind. I have seen many of these illegal businesses pop up everywhere in the country. The prices in these shops, where the basics are sold are exorbitant and unfair, while the ordinary African sits beside the road begging for food, being unemployed. I would say, give these businesses to the South African first, so he/she can feed their family.
Strongly agreed! This should also be done in America, prioritize those who were born and raised there
You want them out to protect your enslavement of the natives, to ensure all the profits come to you. If the prices are exorbitant do they force them to buy?
You are protecting your exploitation of the people of the country. You don't want them to have a choice. It is you that should move out.
South African government is the one giving out business to immigrants insisted of their own people? I think these businesses belong to immigrants. i mean their own money. Imagine u have the privilege of being a citizen, but because you're so lazy, you expect everything from the government and get biased to others who tried all odds to be successful in life, you better wake up and work
Why do you think ppl like OD overlook the crimes committed by settler/colonizers and go after other Africans ?
💯 agreed
It's an understatement to not label immigration as a crisis here in South Africa especially when the economy is bad and everyone has to fight for every little resource available.

"We are a peaceful movement, actually" said the leader standing infront of logo with guns.
It's true. They are peaceful. Those poisonous counterfeit expired goods had killed a lot of children in South Africa. This is what you are not told.
@seenidev your political leaders have military control and claim to be peaceful. Where is the difference? Stop being a puppet hypocrite!!!! Do you know how many SA children are dying nowadays from consuming foods sold at shops owned by illegal foreigners? Illegal foreigners and their not registered businesses don’t pay taxes in SA, but use free public hospitals services, is that correct according to you?
This report and the proceeding interview is heavily misleading. People that enter a country without passing through the right channels are automatically illegal and should be deported. Same as someone entering your house without your invitation. It's that simple. They may sound aggressive but they have stated multiple times that they are anti ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION. Not immigration. I support their struggle. And this is coming from a Nigerian.
Have lived in Nigeria and sadly there are millions of Nigerians in the US and western countries especially Europe who are making crossings via the Sahara. Paying people smugglers is a way of life in Nigeria and also all other African countries. Rampant population growth irrespective of any parental responsibilities is the main reason. Yet African governments like the Ethiopian minister go on about integration. South Africa has enough people who are living below the poverty line and why must they accept other citizens whose governments lack good governan
He interviews another foreigner who tells only one side of the story. Kids die after eating counterfeit products from these spaza shops.
Very misleading indeed

It's easy to judge people for not wanting foreigners to come to the country since in the West its trendy to do that, but when your country has a 32.9% unemployment rate, a lot of violent crime in desperation of lack of opportunities, scheduled power outages and a corrupt government - it's understandable why people do not need more people in the country. I've met many wonderful immigrants in South Africa, for example from Zimbabwe, who are absolute class amazing people, always super friendly - so it's not personal, it's just the state of the economy.

That situation is much worse than what’s getting out on the news. This past July my work sent me to SA and I saw their handiwork firsthand. A jealous store owner riled up a mob and attacked a Somali shop owner’s shop (looted it & burned it). The jealous guy convinced everyone he was selling them cooking oil made out of sewage & was sending the profits home to fund terrorism (what was telling was the cooking oil was one of the most popular items to steal). That group saying they aren’t xenophobic or violent is ludicrous. What they’re doing is playing on the uneducated & unintelligent people’s fears & using them for power much in the same way Brexit did in the UK & MAGA has done in the US.
The rhetoric about foreign nationals in SA is REAL.
Why don't they open their own business n drag all the clients there ?
They want support, right ? Start by opening it and may your prices be competitive.
