- This video shows how to install and remove a Stratoflex 300-6S reusable fitting onto a #6 Stratoflex 111 hose. Stratofex 111 is very similar to Aeroquip 303. This is a medium pressure hose, with an internal steel braided jacket.
Hey man, I am prepping for my practical exam (first time around, taking general and airframe) and this is a godsend. Thank you for your guidance!
how did it go
Prepping for my A&P and this will be my guide. Hoping to get the rigid line practical but if a flexible hose is what it shall be, so grateful for this!
Holy crap you have the ultimate tool to flip people off. Epic
Thank you for the hose fabrication video! 39 years in aviation and I’ve never fabricated a hose.
What a treasure trove of videos! I am so grateful you made them. Small world too…I recognized the SIU on your shirt. I have been to SIU many times when I attended board meetings of the CAFS. I was a Boeing engineer then, now retired and studying for my A&P exams. These videos are awesome.
Nice mandrill, man.
Your LDGs made my heart 💓 skip a beat!
My goodness they're tidy.
Doing Aztec hydraulic hoses about 12 Thanks for the great instructional video!
This was an awesome review, thanks for sharing! What tool would you recommend for pressure testing the hose?
The yellow, anodized part is called a socket. Also, once the hose is bottomed out in the socket, you are supposed to back the hose out of the socket 1/4 turn.
This deserve million view❤❤
Very helpful, thank you sir.
my question is: how do we install a 45 degree or 90 degree fitting? The fitting you show on this video is a straight one, that you can push down with the tool, but for a 90 degree fitting, you cannot push it anymore, what would be the trick?
blood makes a good lubricant, LOL! well played man & nice work on the hose assy
Hi, I love your videos for learning about fittings. I have a huge number of old fittings (37 degree and flareless ) I am trying to identify. Can I send you some?
Do you have a video on repairing scratchs and nicks on ridge fluid lines ?
If your fingernail catches on the scratch or nick, it's probably out of limits. If not, you can use aluminum wool or a burnishing tool.
Thanks for the help. Nice video.
I have worked in GA, Corporate, and Cargo Ops, and never had to fabricate a hose or even a rigid line.
Thank you
hi, nice video! can do you one with fabricating a bonding strap cable? thanks
I am having issues with the hose spinning when I use the mandrel to install the nipple and nut. Is there any way to prevent the hose from spinning?
My teacher gave me this project as part of a final grade, he said I cant put the socket part in a vice or I'll fail, and that he'll be able to tell if we did put it in a vice or not. anyone know any other ways to get this done?
Thanks buddy!
Hi, any video for how to make or install a MS fitting (tubing)
Thank you for your video. How would a -8 be done?
Link to the mandrel I’ll need?
How do you know how long cut the Hose in Length
Measure the existing hose - or if that can't be done - measure the distance the hose must span and add 5% to 8%. The 5% to 8% extra is necessary, because the hose contracts as it is pressurized. For very low pressure, use the 5%. As pressure nears the top of the rated pressure of the hose, go to the 8%.
This guy must be an expert at flipping ppl off
