Honestly, 'Quill' is pretty good as a Spellclash name. "Quill? Why do they call you Quill?" "Because the moment you challenge me, your fate is written!" Or, if you want to be more ominous; "Because, simply put, I've a great many quills. I don't, however, have any ink. That's fine though. Your blood should do just fine."
Lucius: Not very intelligent but has moments of deep wisdom Nova: Very book smart but quite naive Quill: Fairly inexperienced socially (maybe due to his age) but has a lot of common sense The different types of smarts (and flaws) that these magic characters have
That's called low Intelligence, Wisdom and Charisma, respectively (I know Quil has like 14 Charisma but he doesn't act like it unless he's giving out burns to corrupt mine-owners).
It would have been funny to see Aila enter spellclash and just grapple her opponent to the ground, put them in a hold, and just slowly let the lightning whittle away at their health
Oh my god I love Lucius. Trott is so good at roleplaying this character. There are countless little moments in just these past 22 episodes that show how deep and dynamic his character is without feeling forced or rushed or out of character. I only recently started watching HR, I got into it via Altheya and I've been watching Aerois so I can let the Altheya episodes build up. Thank you all for providing so many hours of fantastic art and entertainment- never forget that these stories are beautiful, living pieces of art that YOU have created. Thank you, High Rollers :3 Edit: Lucius, what do you have? A knife!! NO! Edit 2: WOAH these fights are cool, excited for the second round in the future
I have to say, aside from the satanic bell cows scene, this has to be one of my favorite episodes so far. I mean, IT’S HILARIOUS. And Quill gains some confidence, I think?
I literally cannot believe they didn't came up with idea of dying and/or shortening Valla'a hair. Dressing her as a boy would be a probably(?) good idea. Maybe not though.
I get the feeling that they are more invested in their characters' stories and goals than with the story that Mark as DM is laying down, which is usually the case in D&D games and probably as it should be.
So... this whole way to get into the Spellclash tournament - by challenging other duelists and betting your own chips against theirs and the more you get the better chance you have - is essentially the first season of Yugioh, yeah? XD Continuing to love the show! Look forward every week, and can't wait to see what else is in store!
oh mark, it wouldn't be highrollers without at least one tech issue every other week. Think some of us were thinking to start a "who can spot the tech issue and diagnosise it 1st" thing.
Watched this episode again and just realized that Mark was referencing/describing Caleb Widogast’s character from Critical Role: “plain, looking wizard human”, “longish hair”, “uses lots of fire magic” during Spell Clash.
I believe they know there's ocean there now, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's down at the bottom of it. I mean, the Genasi came to Aerois when their city got swapped with a High Elf one, I believe, so who knows what's where after a god-war.

Their names should be "Problem Seekers" and people can call them "Seekers" for short sounds cool and I played a lot of Dragon age: Inquisition and hearing "Seekers" reminded me of running the Inquisition maybe THEY should start an Inquisition of their own!
I know I'm super behind but my theory for why the Prime appears to failing guardians is that it's using something along the lines of the astral projection or dream spell to appear to people. The problem is that guardians don't actually dream. However as they begin to decay their periods of inactivity and reliving old memories mimics a dream state to the point that the Prime's spells can contact them.
I caught up with all episodes and came back to rewatch spellclash. Mild spoilers? I miss these fun times ;o; I love what's happening NOW but damn this bonding between the characters and funny moments, I really miss them. Lucius vs cows and Lucius chasing Chancey around the arena with a dagger always bring tears to my eyes from laughing

Did Mark come up with spell clash, because it's amazing. How energetic and exciting is that. Just a testament to Mark's commentary. But I enjoyed it a lot. :)

I can't wait until Lucius is a famous spell clash duelist and his career comes crashing down from his cow crimes

The way Mark accurately impersonate all the player characters and even bringing the NPCs to life is just amazing. I aspire to be just like Mark.
Get to know your players very well and how they see their characters.
Thunderbird and Prismatic Prince are the best spellclash names 100%.
Not bad i admit.
I'd go for "flying thunder" but cant think up anything better for Lucius.

Spellclash name for quill : The Sundered (he follows Hesper, and his body has been torn apart, just like aerois!)
Quill is Aerois confirmed
I'm low-key happy that Chauncey is genuinely a meek, Samwise Gamgee/West County character. Very wholesome and adorable
What?!? Chauncy is here??
*Chauncey shows up*
I've watched enough anime to know that he's the most dangerous person in the room.
Katie's hair always looks so good
Mark is such a good dungeon master
I’m hoping to learn a little bit by watching these as well as have a good time
Now I just want a sitcom called ‘spell clash’ with five wonky spellcasters and one pissed off assistant.

Lucius really needs to be rebranded as the "Fainted Prince."
