Gary should bring this guy back and make this into a series about tech history. Would be super cool to see the same kind of video about Tesla, Edison, and maybe the guys who built the Alto.
The first lessons remind me of one of the lessons from REWORK book where it is said that limited resources forces you to think creatively and achieve complete potential
This video definitely needs way more views. Garry, I thank you for this remarkable video. It's not only inspiring, but down-to-earth practical and actionable. At the rate you're going, you'd very well become a catalyst in creating more Wright Brothers in this world.
Brisk, informative and inspiring! I love the well-worn exhortation: If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. I'd modify it a bit: try, learn, iterate, learn and iterate again.
This might be my favorite video yet... and given the quality & depth on this channel, that's sayin' a LOT. Thanks for sharing this inspiring story - at a moment when we ALL could use a dose of inspiration ✨
Thanks Garry, your videos continue to educate, entertain and inspire. It’s been a daily habit watching your videos. It’s greatly helped my cpg start-up stand on a good footing in our first year. Let’s crush 2022 and gtla!
Dear Garry Tan, some links in the description don't work and UA-cam keeps deleting my comments trying to inform you this. They're are the two last ones. Can't write them down because UA-cam might do it again.
I am a medical Doctor and dentis, everything I have learned on universities I have/had to give up, so I can create something news because I am understandings different things. Crazy things in health care will happen in the near future, and only the people who are ready for change will have beneft from it. And I know that you people are ready for it, because you are all amazing!
Mr Tan, you’re the brother and dad that I’ve never had. You became the lights of my life lately. I believe in entrepreneurship so much. Thanks and love form South Korea
Abbas ibn Firnas in Indulusia, modern time Spain, first toyed by experimenting with the idea of flying. Ibn Firnas made various contributions in the field of astronomy and engineering. He constructed a device which indicated the motion of the planets and stars in the Universe. In addition, Ibn Firnas came up with a procedure to manufacture colourless glass and made magnifying lenses for reading, which were known as reading stones.
😭 Thanks Gary, I needed this. They told I don't have the Silicon Valley pedigree. but I can't stop hacking on this futuristic project I'm obsessed about.
thank you for such inspiring thoughts. so often we are laughed at even by our own families. If i make something awesome someday, you helped me thank you.
Very inspiring thank you, Mastery talks about Wright Brothers using "Merchanical Intelligence" I coincidentally re-listened to the same chapter in the audiobook this morning ! Aligned!
Inspiring! And I also learned a new name for recent startup eco-system phenomena I was feeling but couldn't put my finger on and name it "Overfunded Credentialism" Thank you so much Garry
Thank you, Gary, This was fascinating. Please create more videos like this that explain the real dynamics of how ideas turn into innovations that create technologies products etc.
Thanks. I was out the other night floating on my one wheel in cold, dark drizzly weather. I noticed that on beautiful hot warm sunny day the Lakefront is packed with people. I thought, I like this. I’m used to this. To create for me is to be alone. I am looking for my creative technology tribe.
Hello Garry, we are really hoping to get in touch with you. We are a group of 3 co-founders with Berkeley CS degrees + many years of industry experiences in Silicon Valley working to solve an existing problem in luxury goods industry via NFTs. Does Initialized Capital also fund startups at its earliest rounds (before even going to YC or accelerators)? If so, where can we possibly get a chance to do an elevator pitch for Initialized Capital about our ideas / product.
Thank you for your sharing of impactfull words. It gives me chill, especially on the end part. As it does relates to me. I'm Afiq Azhari. I'm an idealist, teaching kids to FLY. I really enjoyed it. Looking forward for next time. #Q
Great video. I'm an inventor, and have, unknowingly, been doing these things anyway. Just (lol) never trust anyone else's judgement. Become the expert yourself and reach the same, and other, conclusions.
Appreciate the video @GaryTan, but you (conveniently ?) forgot to mention about Glen Curtiss and the wars between Wright brothers and Glen Curtiss. Case in Point: American Genius Season 1 , Episode 2.
Hi Garry, i really like your contributions. I saw your discussion with Sacks, Shakir and Pat Grady on Bloomberg live about crypto - what is your honest opinion about cardano?
Whilst those brothers are attributed as the inventors of powered flight it was actually the British engineer Frank Whittle who took powered flight from zero to one.
Gary should bring this guy back and make this into a series about tech history. Would be super cool to see the same kind of video about Tesla, Edison, and maybe the guys who built the Alto.
Thanks, I'll fly of with this UA-cam idea 😂
Please
Iventions are this kind of > 10x improvement.

0 to 1 is so difficult but infinitely rewarding - cheers to anyone watching this video hoping to change the world.
Editing, music, presentation - everything was on point. Very entertaining! Humankind needs this kind of edu-documentary.
It is always good to see they get everything right.

Excellent and inspiring video as always, Garry. What a wonderful quote from The Dayton Times at 12:21.

It is the innovators who drive progress for humanity
many innovations are coming from the effort of many people the business people are just taking the last few miles.
Hey Gary, thanks for consistently inspiring the dreamers that would be shapers. You really do plant hope in minds and hearts. Keep up the great work!

Yeah, I tried to type in the link and it got erased too. I think it is the Principal one that is not working.

This reminds me of Peter theil lecture wherein he said it's important to retain value apart from just creating it.
As always great video Gary!

Hi Garry, i really like your contributions. I saw your discussion with Sacks, Shakir and Pat Grady on Bloomberg live about crypto - what is your honest opinion about cardano?
The most ironic thing I noticed after learning machine learning and data analysis is You Should trust Data and at the same time question it!! 🤯
Thank you this was amazing...
