    I'm going to make one that doesn't come apart in the middle. Just leave it on top of the kayak behind the seat. Thanks so much - I really like your design. Especially how it goes on and off

    Brilliant thanks. You’ve steered me away from considering all the other expensive models especially after also reading that they’re not all that good for the Topwater models size. I’ll just build my own to suit Western Australian conditions which comprises a lot of sandy locations and water accesses. Hopefully you’re still replying to these comments so if so, would 16” wheels still be able to be slid into the hatches please mate as I just need to allow for a lot more sand transportation that hard pack. Thanks if you can help. Paul 😃

      Hey Paul, Thanks for the comments. Unfortunately, 16" wheels are going to be too big for the Topwater 106 hatch. They may fit in the 120 as it has a larger front hatch. If they don't maybe you could come up with a clever way to store the tires on the outside. I often don't even break it down but lay it across the rear of the yak. Cheers.

      @@kayakfishingworks1304 Hey KF - Thanks very much for replying and the info. I am getting the 120 so I’ll wait until it’s in hand and check it out otherwise I’ll Plan B something. Thanks again mate 😃

      You're welcome! Enjoy the new kayak. The 120 is really nice.

    Do you use the same one for your Shearwater?

    • @kayakfishingworks1304
      @kayakfishingworks1304  3 роки тому +1

      Yes, I do. I also found some pool noodles that are extra thick and they work even better to get the kayak a little higher off the ground.

    Fantastic! I purchased a used Topwater PDL and the previous owner didn't do his research and spent a ton of money on a kart that didn't stow in the hull. This is just the ticket - A+ on your ingenuity!

    If you don’t keep the cart attached, do you break it down and put it in the dry storage when you’re on the water?

    • @eetechtom

      He said it will fit in the front hatch when it’s broken down. Think I’ll be building this soon. I have the same kayak as his.

      Yes, you can break it down and put it in the hatch which I do sometimes. Especially, if I will be going through reeds or tight flooded timber. Most of the time, though, when I get down to the water I just detach one strap from the kayak, put the bow in the water and let the kayak roll in. Then I grab the loose strap pull the cart out from under the floating kayak and set it behind my crate across the width of the tank well. That way I don't have to fiddle with it at the ramp and can get out of the way of the quicker.

      This is my first try, love your Cart, but I have several Q’s ? My 1” conduit won’t fit into the wheels but 3/4” will

    Awesome! Life saver I’ve tried 4 different carts! Nothing works from stores the way I like. Also could you do a rod holder video

    I noticed you have led light strips. What brand are they or where did you get them? How are they holding up?

    • @kayakfishingworks1304
      @kayakfishingworks1304  5 років тому

      Installed them 6 months ago and they have been on quite a few trips. They are holding up great. They are rgb leds so you can get them to display whatever color you want. One single led on one of the front light strips only shines white but I believe that is from me damaging it when strapping down the kayak. I plan to do a video on them soon. Probably, this month.
      All for around $50 total.
