@@ulrichkristensen4087 GTS is not your track car from Porsche. You need to go up to GT3 at a minimum. Porsche only shows GT3RS on the Porsche North America website. No new GT3? I always don't get the argument "base carrera is more than enough" when this costs new with options 150k € - and you get a used 992.1 GTS for 160k or a 992.1 GT3 for 190k €. So much more value for not spending that much more. If the Carrera was half the price of a GT3, I would agree with it being a good value for your money.
But you are comparing new car pricing to used. You could buy a used base Carrera for less. Although I would say Porsche pricing has reached ridiculous levels no matter which trim you look at.
bro you are comparing 2024 and 2014 car... Sadly car prices fluctuated badly after the covid, and everything is way more expensive now. Anyway, base 992 is still a great value. Especially that you can throw a better air filter and downpipe and with simple tune you will push 500HP. Throw hybrid turbos, or even those from GTS and you will push over 600HP.
if you go from analogue gauge cluster to a digital one you might aswell stay with the analogue but instead install a head up display which is simply much much better for driving.
Fantastic review! The Porsche 911 Carrera 992.2 looks incredible on both road and track. Great insights into its performance and features. Thanks for sharing!
At my age this the perfect model. I'd never track it, just daily drive and with a zero to 60 in under 4 seconds, my license would be in jeopardy every time I fire it up. Question.....is this comfortable and quiet enough for a multiday road trip with one person?
Stunning car and perfect review. You did a great job keeping -up with that Turbo on the track, which just goes to show that the driver is as important as the horsepower. Thank you.
Base Carrera has always been the pick of the range(excluding GT/Turbo) then T. This one is even better, gts turbos, finally decent breaks. Limited slip diff would be good, comes in T model hopefully. Performance is really amazing, 3.7 to 100 is ballistic. Very very few people will take it on the track pointless to test tbh.
@7:47 "the grass is greener on the other side". Sorry, nothing to do with cars, but just a general observation. AutoTopNL rocks!!! What do you mean you cant keep up with the turbo S.... you ARE!!
@@astonisher7549 for someone in the car business, it's difficult when it comes to customers. Oh, you want a 911 that's newer than a 993? That's a 997. So what's the new one? 992. What? That sounds older. Ugh.
Very nice review, the car is all I need and I can easily see myself “stepping down” from my current 992 GTS to a Base, it is all I need. I don’t really understand the need to change the interior design going fully digital. It is true that the 992.1 gauges were poorly displayed but this solution reminds too much of Audi. Same for the start/stop button. Bizzare that for the interior there is only leather option and sport-tex is not available
Such a shame they're not offering the Carrera or even GTS with a physical manual transmission anymore (or haven't said anything)... this is crazy.... this base spec, GT Silver over this Cognac with the Classic Fuchs and a manual would be absolute perfection, quick full exhaust and a tune and you wouldn't _really_ need anything else in life... maybe a good woman and a cat, that's about it 😅
Thank you for covering the base Carrera Do you feel any differences in driving dynamics to its predecessor? How do you rate 992.1 Carrera T as a road oriented sportscar?
All new is an overstatement. And Porsche dumping the analogue tachometer was stupid. It's the one thing that kept the 911 different from the competition with gawd awful screens galore. They should have kept that and the left hand key ignition and not add a stupid button.
RIP that beautiful analog rev counter and dancing needle.... :( At least they kept the digital speedo integtrated! That is how you should do (all car manufacturers!).
I love the base. But in US it is $120k before a single option. Realistically it’s $135k- $140k even lightly optioned. It’s legitimately twice the cost of a mid engine corvette. Just absurd
Thank god they didn't put a big lcd tv in the dashboard..... Like every cheap car to expensive car has rhe same interior with the srupid touch screen ....
In this configuration, very cool car. Unfortunately, not the money for pay and maintain it. Let's not even talk about the prices of multiple full of gasoline.. 😅 Great video
The digital cluster is absolutely awful, I drove bunch 991 and 996 gen 911s with analog clusters and recently I drove new taycan. Analog fits 911 way better. Idk whose idea was to implement that shit into 911 and even worse part is that it doesnt have that overhang roof bubble kind og thing so sun just beams off that shit, I can see the reflections…
My guess: It will be around 465-475 hp, but with the same engine setup like the 992.1 gts before. So hybrid and electric turbo will be the usp of the new gts.
Im a huge 911 person who's had a 991.2 base and i cannot fathom someone spending $150k on a base 911 when you can get a Z06 with a Z07 package, brand new, an audi R8 or an AMG GTR for the same price.
I hope u could show me any new R8 performance or GTR with 0 mileage in the price range of 150k? All I see in Europe market is more than 200k for totally new one. If u brag about the second hand car price, then the base 911 is no more than 120k with good equips after first owner. GTR and Z06 are good car for different folks and better deal in second hand market, but R8 is just trash handling with exception of the V10
@@DD-777D i can say the new R8 2018-now is relatively reliable, but my POV is that Audi just slammed the V10 from Lambor and called it a day. There isn’t any of its own character, rather than scream of the V10 tho. It is rather happy at cruising instead of carving corner, which is already big fail in my list when it comes to sport car choice.
Just my opinion but looking at the rear view the car seems souless with that light bar and plastic squarish diffuser , Porsche works so hard to maintain 911 design actual that its no left spot to improve its aesthetics and at times looks overdesigned in some areas just doesn’t match its proportion .
The base is on much worse tires than the GTS so that also contributes in a big way to the lesser handling on the track
It is a daily driver not a track car
