Good job! This is great for those of us that want to prep but don't have a lot of money. Thanks.

I'm glad this could help you out! I'm definitely in the same boat financially, which is why I hunt down deals where I can find them! Check out healthyprepper, tons of great tips!!

I Love Healthy Prepper! She has some great ideas also. Have you done any water storage? We have a little, but have started getting the water bricks, one a month since they are expensive. They seem to be exactly what we have been looking for, for water storage.

I have began to store water in 55gallon food grade barrels. I find them on craigslist and they vary in price from $10-$30 depending on the style. I paid $15 for mine, but have see them cheaper since. I have bought three so far and I am using one under a gutter for the garden, and the other two I have linked together with pvc and placed in the basement next to the rest of my water storage. So that ended up being about $30 dollars for 110 gallons of water, Pretty good deal, but you can probably get it even cheaper if you look hard enough. I added a little bleach in the water to keep it from going stale, not so much that you can smell it though. FEMA's website has a really good chart to show you how much bleach to water you need to disinfect it. I also have a buddie that lives next to a coke plant, he gets his barrels from them at a really good price. I had never seen the "water bricks" before, thanks for pointing them out by the way! They are a very interesting design. Unfortunately my girlfriend does not really like how large 55gallon drums look in our basement. The bricks seem like an awesome way to keep everything nice and neat, so I might have to invest in a few.

We live in an apartment so 55 gal barrels would definitely be too large for us. Any kind of storage that doesnt make it look like we are preppers is a good thing also.

***** Sorry its taken me a while to respond but I've been trying to think about an alternative way that you can store water in an apartment without yelling to the world that you are a prepper, as well as being conscious about the containers not being an eye sore. Whiskey Barrels, you can find them ranging in size from a couple gallons all the way up to 50 gallons. I got the idea while looking into rain barrels. I've been seeing 50 gallon wooden barrels from $75-$100 around me. They can double as furniture, coffee table, bar, door side Key catcher? Just an idea... The water bricks are awesome by the way, thanks for leading me on to them.! When my GF saw them she immediately ordered me to stop putting 50 gallon blue plastic barrels in the basement, and start investing in the bricks , lol

Glad I could help! Their prices are hit and miss, but you can score a lot of prepping supplies for pretty cheap.

Between Big Lots, Dollar Tree, and Wally World, I put together 2 decent first aid kits for less than $30 by buying 2 pre-made kits(85pc. for $5, and 140pc. for $10, both included a cold pack and hard plastic boxes) and then filling the gaps at Dollar Tree. Gauze, ibuprofen, acetaminophen(my kid's allergic to ibuprofen), allergy relief, triple antibiotic, etc. is all the same regardless what name's on the package. I had the medical and pharmaceutical professionals in my family review what I have, and they gave some further input, but approved of my kits.
First aid kits and bugout bags. Stay away from the internet for this stuff, unless you like taking it in the wallet with no lube.
I just saw that Big Lots has the Johnson&Johnson 140pc. kit on sale for $5 this week, so I might pick up a couple more.
