- Piraeus is a Port City which is approx 10km away from Athens.
If you're looking for a place to swim, head down to this city and spend one whole day.
From anyhere in Athens Metro Station, you can alight in Neo Faliro Metro stop and walk for approximately 1km to the first destination. Piraeus Metro Station is also an option too.
7 Things to do in Piraeus:
1. Mikrolimano - small marina bay. Popular and known for its good restaurants in the area, with good variety of seafood as well cafes and bars.
2. Riviera Beach - No entrance fee unless you will use the beach facilities.
3. Have a quick stop in PIRAEUS icon and enjoy the viewpoint of Piraeus coast.
4. Alexandras Square
5. Bay of Zea
6. Piraeus Theatre
7. Holy Trinity Church - Orthodox Church located in the center of Piraeus.
Piraeus Metro Station is also an option to go back in Athens City Centre.

That beach is called Votsalakia Beach, not Riviera. It's a little run-down now, it definitely needs a renovation.
Hello! Looking at google maps, it's seems that it is also close to Riviera Beach. Anyhow, regardless of the two beaches, I just stayed in the seaside for free and it was a great experience. Piraeus Beach is awesome which is also close to the city. 😍😊
