Yes! You are right my friend. It really is. You can make some very cool designs with this. You can also animate them too with apps like Davinci Resolve (editing software). Take a look at my Animated Wallpapers video to see what I mean #StayCreative my friend

Is there any way to convert these sub-paths in to normal paths?

As soon as you finish with any path effect, selecting Path > Object To Path (Or CTRL+SHIFT+C / CMD+SHIFT+C) will finalize the result so you can edit it in any way you see fit as you would with any other path my friend.
