When I try to extrude from path it doesn't look like yours. The letters are flat and very spread out perpendicular to the text that I made. Thanks for the help anyway.

Did you convert it to a path before extruding?

there's an arrow in the bottom right corner of the color palette. click that and you can choose your desired color palette.
