Amazing timelapse, the closeup shots of the roots is out of this world. Good job once again!
Thank you, so nice to hear that from you
Thank you for posting the day. It's so hard to find videos like this that do.
I am happy! Thanks
this was great. i came here because i had to manually pollinate my zucchinis this morning, and i want to see how long before they start producing fruit. thanks!
Do you do anything to aid the pollination process?
Very beautiful !!
Очень здорово. Спасибо 👍
Fantastisch. Danke.
Amazing 👍👍 keep it up 🥀👏
What day are you supposed to harvest the zucchini? Great video!
pretty amazing
Thanks 🙏
Awesome stuff keep it up
Thanks
very nice maxim!
I wanted to pluck that seed shell off the leaf so badly, lol
Yeah! But I like the natural way, so I try not to trim my plants
will this grow in las vegas, what soil did you use and how often did you water?
You can use any nutrient rich soil. For example for vegetable growing. Watering every few days , depends on the size of your pot
This was great. 😎
Thanks 👍
Thanks for this! I noticed that the flowers that weren't pollinating kind of called it quits briefly after opening. Do zucchini flowers have a very short pollination window?
I've read that vanilla bean orchids have an extremely brief window of only a few hours. In their natural habitat of Mexico, there's a particular bee that takes care of it. Bees are numerous, so it's enough to keep the plant species surviving over there. But humans really like vanilla, so "surviving" isn't enough. We need them to multiply and be fruitful in abundance. A challenge even in the native habitat, but on top of that, people wanted to cultivate them in other places where the specific bees wouldn't survive or couldn't be introduced. Hand pollination was the only solution. But with the complicated shape of the flower and the limited window of opportunity, it wasn't a very profitable endeavor. Work too slowly, and you miss the window. Work too quickly, you damage the flower. There wasn't a good middle-ground that could really satisfy mass production.
In the 19th century, Edmond Albius developed a method to gently, effectively, and quickly pollinate the flowers, a contribution to agriculture that is still very much in use to this day. He was born into slavery and developed the technique at the age of twelve.
"Plain vanilla" indeed.
Depends on the variety. There are some variety (Parthenocarpic) where the male flowers are just for show and the female ones are already pollinated. the one variety I have available in my country "Courgette blanche de virginie" (can't seem to find the english variety name) flowers open fairly early in the morning and close by noon on warm days for the male ones and by the afternoon for the females. When the weather isn't dry and/or warm enough for insects to jump from flower to flower, I go with a Q-tip to help pollinate a bit.
Wow ❤
Was it outdoors? Did it get pollinated by wind?
Not, indoors with 24 h light
I pollinated them manually:)
Why did the plant change from a clear container to a pot?
Roots probably outgrew the original smaller pot
Clear container is way too small and was just to show the roots development
Wow!!!
The plant looks like it’s suffering but still producing fruit like there’s no tomorrow
Yes, maybe the light was just to strong
