- My first reel mow with the Earthwise 7-blade. This thing is awesome but man does it kick your butt! I enjoyed the workout and the fantastic cut I ended up with. Since this video I have taken the back down to 1.5" and I can't believe how good it looks. Stay tuned for more!

Just bought that mower last week, ur not kidding it is a workout but lawn looks really good afterwards. Used it 3 times so far, brought my lawn down to 1.5 in and it looks better than it did at 3.5 inches
Awesome! I've learned to be careful with it. I took my bluegrass down to 1 inch and it was loving it until we got hit with an extreme heatwave and I couldn't keep up with watering. I brought it back up to 2 inches and it's super happy again

Setting the reel to bed knife as close to zero contact while still cutting will keep up the spin.

I like it and live the cut. I have been cutting lawn couple times per week for the last 3 weeks or so. Just brought out the Honda yesterday for a quick mow. It does get tiring . I'm going to keep it up for as long as I can. Most likely will use it mainly in spring and fall though. Thanks for posting video. 👍🏻
Lawn is looking lush and green! You're right...one heck of a cardio workout for sure. I'll take it, cause I need it haha! I've done both Insanitys and P90X3 and 1. Felt like I just finished one of those too. Glad to see I'm not the only one.

I need to get my lawn leveled cause it was kind of pain in the ass when I hit bumps and it would stop.
There's been a ton of rain here so I've been manual reel mowing a ton. Definitely cheaper than a gym!
Ive mowed with it 4 times now, its getting easier every time
Have you thought about leveling your yard to make it easier for the real mower and your self

These young guys are just not workers. Hell he would have NEVER made it on the farm. I am 71 and i work circles around so many young guys in my life. Of course they do not care, I am from a time when being a hard worker was something to be proud of. And being lazy was something to be ashamed of.

Was yours pretty loud out of the box? Mine has a good sounding whirl to it. I also saw you can add a 16 inch conveyor roller to the back instead of the cheap plastic one. Going to do that next week.
It was not that loud, but definitely louder than it is now. Guess I had to break it in. I was looking at conveyor rollers for it actually, let me know your results

How much was that? Also, it has a striper on it?
Only $100 on Amazon ($126 after taxes and such). No striper but it does have a rear roller. I'm going to make a striper for it soon
How can you sharpen these reel blades?
You can backlap with lapping compound - this is normal maintenance and will need to be done yearly or every 2 years, depending. Otherwise you can take it to a reel service to get totally sharpened. You shouldn't need to do this very often at all. Basically only if you haven't kept up with backlapping or you damage the reel
