- Hey friends, I’m Mel and welcome to my kitchen. Tonight we’re diving into something I’ve never done before; dump and go crockpot freezer meals! These 3 meals took me about 30-45 minutes to assemble, they are all budget friendly, and you can easily double or even triple these to really stock your freezer and have a great meal ready to go when you need it. I’m taking you all the way thru from freezing to cooking so you can see the finished meals, and I’m sharing all the helpful tips and tricks I’ve learned along the way. So let’s get right into it!

I love me some freezer meals. Even just the two of us it’s come in handy to have something easy to cook while I was at work. Just one last week of work and I officially retire on Saturday at 5 p.m. I’m a little emotional but I’m also excited. I’m still planning on my crockpot and freezer meals cause I’m gonna enjoy some crochet and knitting time. Who wants to lose the stitch count to make dinner? 😂
I’m still getting used to making smaller portions for our empty nest so throwing the extra in the freezer is a big help.

I had major spine surgery, then another surgery for an infection. I should be back on my feet soon. In the meantime I am spending time watching the videos I missed. Thanks for the freezer meals. I do the same thing freezing tablespoons of tomato paste instead of throwing what is leftover away. Food is very expensive and I don't want to waste any now. Good recipes as always!
Yep, I've frozen tomatoe paste in little spoonfuls my whole married life. Trying different packing ways. Most all worked! But now I love the thin freeze and break off what you need, is my favorite!!
Another idea for keeping some freezer meals on hand, is if you know someone who is in need of a meal, maybe because they had surgery or some other event…..you could take a meal out and put it in the crockpot for them. Or make up two or three freezer meals, when you are doing your own at the same time, to give them to use when needed.
I love freezer meals! ❤️ I usually make big batches of soups, since we enjoy that often, and freeze them. We live in a small home but were able to find space for an inexpensive cube freezer and it helps me storing my food & soups. Now I am going to take it up a notch and start preparing meals, too.
Sharing helpful tips is so important. I live in NJ, work full time, and need all the advice I can get. When I get home from work I am tired and so I love shortcuts but still want tasty meals. I use a similar recipe for my roast. But I've simplified it over the years. Now, I add a 1/2 bottle of olive garden Italian dressing and a jar of pre-made gravy. So yummy. I love the freezer meal ideas! Thank you for sharing. More please! 😉

Well done! Freezer meals were my key strategy during my working years. Not so much now that I'm retired, but I still use my slow cooker regularly. I like having dinner under control and being able to get on with my day. Also, those bag holders are great... until they drop a bag of sauce all over the counter 😂
I love my crockpot too! And honey I was watching those clips like a hawk, but they held up for me 😜🤣

OMG love all your meals for prep ahead dinners - 1 advice - cook your pasta - rice and portion it out into the small freezer bags - when ready to eat add about 2 to 3 tablespoons of water and microwave it - comes out awesome - Keeping the Faith 💜

I have never had any luck with freezing potatoes. I might have to try again lol. I LOVE! the freezer meals. I usually convert mine to Instant pot and make it b4 I go sit with my mother every day. I get home hours later and its a hot meal ready for us. These were great and Im going over to the other channel after yours. TFS!
I like to freeze canned chipotle chilies, too. Most of the recipes I have used call for only one or two. YES, please bring on the freezer meals. I am about to be a caretaker for two households. I believe my mom & my mother-in-law are very capable at this point in time of using their slow cookers, especially if I prep the freezer meals for them. I don't use crockpot liners for myself, but it may be easier for older folks to not have to clean a heavy crock. Thank you so much! I will check out your sweet friend's channel as well.

Love love these freezer crockpot meals. I do this when we get busy in the field in the spring and fall. I use crockpot liners to put freezer meals instead of freezer bags. Then I just drop them in the crockpot in the morning on busy days. Thanks for sharing!! Love your channel SOO MUCH!!😊

My husband calls those my bag holder uppers. I found them about 4 years ago on Amazon by accident and love them. I bulk buy when meat is on sale then freeze portions. Hubby used to have to hold the bags, now he's out of a job.

Lol, I do the same and I would always be asking for a meat assistant 😅 to hold my bags. Now no one has to do that job with me either 🤣
I live in a tiny house on wheels, and I always look for slow cooker ideas. Here is a idea that I have used many times. Use a potato masher with square holes to mash up your meat. It can be used to drain can veggies and even cube cheese for different dishes

I've got to get a roast and try that one. I've been scared freeze potatoes, but yours look so so good! I will def try! I should have doubled all of mine. Great idea! I think the "taste tests" are popular right now. I don't have to see you taste it to trust you when you say it's good. Lol. I've had a few to suggest that I do that. Tomato paste, put the tablespoon dollops on parchment paper, fold them up and freeze. When needed, just take out of the freezer and peel it off like a fruit leather.
Mel, I freeze milk all the time! As long as you defrost it in the fridge it is fine. I buy my milk when Kroger’s has the half gallons on sale for $1.27 and put it in my freezer. If it separates I think it has been exposed to heat or close to expiration date.

I said this a few times. Save the liquid from canned veggies and freeze them. Can be used as a veggie broth and you don't need any added salt. Also use paper clamps on your bags. can be reused over and over again. If you are using frozen veggies, and dont need all over them simply just use the bag with a paper clamp. Not wasting a zip-loc bag.
I can buy tiny potatoes and I used them for pork roast in the slower cooker. I love your recipes videos and look forward to your next video.
Yes! I saw you use frozen tomato paste the other day in the Hamburger Pie recipe in your Jiffy meals video. (I tried that recipe and loved it!) I thought "What a perfect idea!" I have recipes that call for 2 Tbls. of tomato paste and invariably I would end up throwing it away after the can was in my fridge for way too long. Never again! Thank you!!

I always make homemade stew from leftover roast. Add a few more veggies, leftover gravy or beef broth and a can of tomatoes. One of our favorites.
I have that garlic parmesan sauce in my pantry and forgot! I'm going to cook that this week. Thanks for the reminder 😉 And.. I loved the hands showing how yummy it was 😄 I'd feel a little weird eating in front of everybody too. Thanks again!

I remember the days of not knowing who, or how many, would be eating a meal...LOL! You just never knew who was showing up...or not. You just made enough to feed several, and if only 2 ate you had plenty of leftovers..lol. One of the things I struggle with is learning to cook smaller. Some recopies work out well when you cut them in half. Some recipes pose a problem when halfling ingredients. Love a good crock pot meal. Will def. try the roast. Will probably do the 2nd chicken recipe this upcoming week. The weather has cooled down quite a bit here in the mts. of Virginia. Comfort food is definitely back on the menu. When we have leftovers (the two of us) and hubby is tired of eating them, I will throw in freezer for another night in a week or two. This week I am pulling some leftover rotisserie chicken from the freezer to make a chicken pot pie, and some cooked pork butt from several weeks ago, to make for supper this week.
@@donnastratton8397 That is what I do with recopies that are hard to divide. Nothing like a good freezer meal when you are in a rush or just don't want to spend much time in the kitchen.

Love the freezer meals!!! What a time saver! P.Ś. I freeze milk all the time. 3 gals stay in my freezer. I take it out thaw it over night in the sink then pop it in the refrigerator and shake it and it taste fine!
Just don't forget to open and take out some milk first. The jugs freeze and EXPAND. I cracked some big gallons and lost the milk as they thawed in the sink overnight.😢
i love freezer meals and i love the 12 bag holders i bought like 4 months ago! I always triple recipes so the 12 holders allows me to make 3 - 4 recipes all at the same time. I lay my bags flat to freeze too before standing upright in the wire baskets in my freezer.
I have frozen pizza sauce in ice cubes. also works with fruit juces, like lemon

Mel, those definitely are simple & sound delish! The pot roast has to be a bit like German Sauerbratten & the way the gravy is made is to crush up Ginger Snap Cookies & stir them into the sauce. So cool it can be done in the crockpot! Also, ur music is so lovely & nicely in the background that the last 2 videos I fell asleep so had to watch twice! U lulled me to Mama Mel Land!
