Zoe has literally done it all, action, sci-fi, drama, comedy. She’s an absolute ICON in my opinion!
Agree
We just started Lioness and I was just saying exactly this to my husband. There aren't many other actresses that can pull of all the different parts she plays so well.
She has been in a lot of the highest grossing movies of all time!
She even makes her own interview ahahah
❤and she's gorgeous
Ali has now ascended to an even higher level of interviewer. One where he doesn't even need to ask questions and he still gets insightful, colourful, fascinating answers!
He is. …THE STAR’s WHISPERER
I reckon it’s a combo of his personality and the English accent.
Zoe Saldana is the first actor that got 4 movies as the most watched movies all time. (Avatar 1, Avatar 2, End Game, Infinity War) 👏 Well done our Neytiri and Gamora 😂
She also played the iceberg in Titanic
Zoe is literally one of my favourite actresses. She’s beautiful, talented and seems really nice in real life too. Such an underrated actress too. Love her ❤
Her first line delivery in the Kobayashi Maru scene is so great. She’s being professional but also full of contempt for Kirk
Yes, I love that scene! She’s doing the job given to her as a professional, but she clearly hates it. Not because of the job but because of the person she has to do this job with. And that’s all in character, she’s so good in Star Trek
She is truly one of the best actors of this generation and yet people still don't give her credit for all the films she's been in. Totalling at $14 billion, she made Hollywood richer than Leonardo Dicaprio, George Clooney and many more actors could. Her and Scarlett Johansson are really killing it!
What an absolutely stupid thing to say.
so because of a number she's one of the best actor?
@@Dave1507It’s one way to describe the subjective word ‘best’, yes. Best can also mean other things, but historical commercial success in an environment where commercial success is a definite goal, I’d say the use of best is for sure warranted.
@@gerbendekker3273 Yeah, sure, but out here in the real world, where there's things other than money that are also important, I'd say the ability to act is far more important than an arbitrary number on some piece of paper. BTW successful doesn't have to be the same as "good" either.
@@Dave1507 I agree with you that good and successful don’t always mean the same. The ability to act well being more important than commercial success ‘out in the real world’ (I’m sorry, I don’t know what that refers to) seems an arbitrary distinction to me personally however
The range of work she’s done is consistently stunning and she’s the perfect choice in every role!
I love watching her do her art. She is a true artist. The best compliment I can offer an actor is one I offer her. I lose her in the part she is playing. I forget I’m watching Zoe and all I see is the character. This is what makes her so great, truly one of the best.
I remember watching Zoe in that ballet movie, Center Stage, a year after it first came out. That was my first introduction to her work. This was in the early 2000s (2001-2002) when I was in my teens. I can't believe it's been 20 years since then. She's had a long career in the film industry. Amazing!
It’s actually incredible how successful a ton of her roles have been. She’s a great actor.
And she is anamaria.
I absolutely love this woman. She is literally the billion dollar actress ❤
She Truly IS.
Zoe is in 4 of the only 6 movies to make more than $2 billion. RESPECT!
That's quite something. call it luck or whatever but... those are facts
And in green/blue character
The Lady of Many Colours! She's such a good actress, the camera loves her, and I secretly believe she brings good luck to any production she's in. She also sounds like a class act IRL.
I like that he pronounces Spanish names with a Spanish accent.
Her first language is Spanish
She's Dominican-Puerto Rican origin.
Zoe is just amazing. She looks the same for 20 years now... Talent, beauty, great acting, that smile... She has some special energy and charisma which is very rare. Love her very much
I didn't even realize, i have seen all of those movies with Zoe Zaldaña.
She might be one of my favorite actresses in a long time.
She always makes her role really good regardless of the script, budget and screen time.
That is no easy feat.
Her laugh is beautifully uplifting. Very talented actor and down to earth.
Love the Adria Ajorna appreciation. Zoe is a gem
Colombiana is my favourite movie of Zoe's. I have to watch it every time it pops up on TV.
The way Ali reads an interviewee is amazing. Most people would have interrupted Zoe but he just left her long winded answer flow and it was amazing.
I NEED to see him interview Robert De Niro one day.
I think British interviewers tend to let guests speak a lot more than American ones. While that isn’t necessarily hard and fast, there is a trend in that direction. It’s why Graham Norton is the best talk show host on television today in my opinion. And Michael Parkinson was a legend. They let their interviews flow more like a natural conversation.
What an unbelievably talented woman, just unreal in every performance
From Scratch deserved an Oscar for her performance. I just absolutely love her and all she does.
Love Zoe Saldana!! I recently saw Guardians Of The Galaxy: Vol 3 and her acting skills are amazing.
Guardians 3 is definitely in my top movies of all time. Right up there with Schindler's List
I hope Zoe saldana will be appear in pirates of the caribbean 6 movie.
Zoe is so talented and completely charming - loved hearing her talk about her experiences
She's like every guy's crush back in the day and still mine lol. No shame fellas. Another lovely work Ali.
Still is one of mine
I'm so glad you included Losers! I loved that movie.
6:04 I’ve had a lot of great times in Squamish and Vancouver and it’s great to see that natural beauty reflected onscreen. There’s a ton of amazing wildlife, forests and mountains, and some pretty great people around there.
I like and admire that she pronounces every Spanish name and location with the right accent.
My favorite Zoe Saldana movies: (1) Vantage Point (2008), (2) Takers (2010), (3) Colombiana (2011) I am surprised they didn't give her an opportunity to talk about that. It's her actually sole LEADING action movie. (4) The Losers (2010) (5) Avatar (2009). That's pretty much it. I've also seen her in Death at the Funeral (2010).
Maybe because it's such a cartoonish portrayal of Colombia?
@@davidhurtado2725 It's not so much about the movie itself but more so the fact that she was the leading star. In Vantage Point (2008) she only has a small role. Even in The Losers (2010) she was part of the ensemble. I'm not saying your criticism isn't valid.
Colombiana was brilliant. Full on revenge fantasy, yes, but it was SO fulfilling.
Very gifted Actor. She improves every project she’s a part of. She has IT.
I like that you picked Fool around and fell in love as the ending music background. Also great interview as usual! 😊
Wow, just another masterful interview. I love it how you just let them go and essentially interview themselves. I love that you listen and interject only occasionally and that you aren’t trying to control the interview
nearly cry when she mention anton yelchin
She's a fantastic actor and truly a bonafide mega-movie star!
Super talented, super beautiful, so genuine. Really somthing special about her that shines from the core of her being. I am a huge fan of hers. Thanks for this interview with her.
Zoe is so classy and genuine
The Losers is criminally underrated and absolutely needed and deserves sequel
oh come on
fool around and fell in love at the end
love that song!
The fact that she can demand the fee she wants & gets it without the tantrum of "pay parity" says a lot about her star power.
4:53 😁 I loved this movie it was a good movie 😀
This was absolutely wonderful!
Quite literally, just as you said, it's been poetry!! Thank you Radio 1 for this chill and awesome moment with her.
I'm so in ❤with her.....just a stunning woman and very talented in every way
I loved her in The Terminal...one of my favorite films.
One amazing lady, it's that simple. Love you Zoe. 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
LOVED the outro music! GOTG 1 soundtrack was amazing!
Thanks Ali for asking the question about the board behind zoe.... there are now some films I want to rewatch 😍
I’m surprised Colombiana wasn’t in the collage. Such a fan of hers. So beautiful and classy.
Both of these people are great at their jobs.
Ms Saladana (she deserves the respect) comes across as suchgracious lady. Kudos to Ali for making this so interesting.
Two of my favourite people!
Wow! There are so many movies that I've seen and never realized she was in them!
Zoe seems to be so awesome… love seeing her movies.
Incredible actress - fully deserves all the accolades and fame she gets.
Thank you for this interview. It changed my view of Zoe Saldana.
Zoe is amazing 🖖 thanks for this interview
Was waiting for her to talk about her greatest work, Centre Stage.
I just started watching that Zero Dark Thirty type show with her called Lioness and it’s really good so far.
She is adorable ❤
The closing song. DONT REMIND ME what we lost Ali. 😢 😂
Well, now she has my whole heart. ❤😊
Lovely interview.
No words needed only 👍👍to portrait her😊
She is so grounded
I've always found it hilarious that she's been a blue alien AND a green alien AND was in star trek but in the latter she plays a human
Damn, I always knew she was in everything but she's really been in everything! Totally forgot about movies like The Terminal. My nostalgic fave will always be Center Stage haha
Hahah I love how at 3:10 she couldn’t get out of accent fast enough after saying Diego Luna
She exudes excellence. Class act for sure.
I really enjoyed this, thank you.
The princess of sci-fi
Great interview
I love this woman
I really love Colombiana 🤷♂ Suprised Vantage Point was on the board over that.
She is DELIGHTFUL! And Ali is the best.
We love you Zoe. ❤
Out of the Furnace is a great movie! Great performances
She has such a young sounding voice (if that makes sense)
An underrated lovely soul. Also, does she age??? Goodness ❤
She seems not too full of herself like some of her peers. And she has a great body of work yet somehow keeps flying a bit under the radar
we all need another star trek movie cmon!!!!!
Was definitely hoping she was gonna touch on Colombiana... she was awesone in that!
It's too bad she had such a bad experience with Pirates. I would totally watch a Pirates of the Caribbean with her as the main character (not a love interest, the star).
I like her movies. ❤ talented actress.
I adore this lady.
Always liked her very good actress
She is a delight
Good pick for an outro song 😉👌
How did I not realise that it was her in some of these films??! :O
What about Centre Stage, it was one of the iconic early 00's movies that Zoe was in.
She’s soooo pretty 😍 and so beautiful 🥵🥵
great actress
No mention of of one of my favs Center Stage..
She is definitely one bad-ass woman with a fun personality!
They didn't go over Center Stage which I'm a little disappointed about lol
Her and my mom have the same name 😁
Well shit, Ali. Would LOVE to see her in Andor. Horrifyingly telling that she automatically recognises that "Gorgeous, soulful, ethnically ambiguous female support" is already taken.
That laugh at 11:14 tho
David O. Russell. 😬 Why Zoe...
Talented actor definitely enhance her roles
