It's funny as Ahsoka says earlier in the episode, "I'm not here to discuss my past." Then the one person who she really needs to discuss the past with appears.
I hope this isn't some dark side trick. I really want to hear this long awaited conversation between the two.

I very much like the notion of the Force helping Ahsoka move past her Master issues. Mr. Filoni has said, time and time again, that it's not time travel, it's not multiverse. This interaction of Anikin, maybe The Father, shows Ahsoka that history's Anikin was going to fall because of Palpatine and no one else. Maybe showing Ahsoka that she cannot be the Master Sabine needs until she also learns to let go. The Jedi's ban on attachments is the same as every other order in history and fiction, if a member has no outside attachments then there is no one standing between the member and duty. The Church, the Night's Watch, the Grey Wardens, Charlemagne Paladins, Athur's Knights, all only had attachments to their order.

You also have to remember during the mortise arc a future version of Asoka came to warn her about Aniken, and if she were to stay with him, she would fall to the Darkside. There’s another lesson that she had to take in and still remember after she woke up on the ship after leaving the Morse temple.

I don't think Ahsoka knows that Anakin has been redeemed and when Ahsoka was talking to Luke that that event actually happened after what is going to happen in Episode 5 on Tuesday. When Ahsoka was talking to Luke she seemed so much lighter and at peace versus this version which is still burdened by trauma and guilt. I think she will see Anakin's redemption in this episode so she can be at peace and move forward.

Anakin's "I didn't expect to see you so soon" line could be because in his timeline Ahsoka has just left the jedi order. I think that's the easiest explanation. The world between words is a place between time and space, so it could be possible the Force wanted to reunite them there.

I suspect the WBW is a nexus of possible _worlds_ as in World between *Worlds* . So this Anikan could be an image of what he'd be if he'd killed Obi-Wan on Mustofar and never suffered those crippling injuries. Whether a full strength Vader who'd kill and replace Sidious or one who didn't actually become Vader it might be a version who physically found their way into the WBW like Ezra in Rebels and actually pulled Ashoka in like Ezra. Maybe he is just some kind of projection but he doesn't have to be imo.

For my own sanity I wanna say this is Ani pulled from another piece of the timeline within the World Between Worlds and like Qui-Gon guiding Yoda, Ani will guide Snips to her role as Ahsoka the White or at the very least the next phase of her journey. Ahsoka needs closure and that is what episode 5 will be more than likely be so she can be in the right headspace to continue her journey. The Vader theme at the end is hinting at their Twilight of the Apprentice duel I’m sure. I think Snips will go through a journey of tests like what Kanan and Ezra went through in the Lothal Temple in Rebels until she purifies both herself and Ani.

Here's a theory: Ahsoka has been very emotionally stunted this entire show (and even in Mando Season 2 honestly). She was incredibly nonchalant about letting Ezra be lost forever in her conversation with Sabine early in Ep 4. In the World Between Worlds, I say she will walk through key moments in her life like with Rex and Anakin, but will close with the moment Ezra saved her life in the WBW in Season 4 of Rebels. She will be reminded that she owes her life to Ezra and reinvigorated to "wake up" from her emotional doldrums and go all-in to rescue him from the distant galaxy he is in.

I feel like this will be about as simple as the WBW episode of "Rebels." The exposition has been minimal since episode one, and I don't see Filoni convoluting things more. Look where all those Marrok theories got us ...
I just rewatched the first four episodes, and it really seems Ahsoka is embracing a lot of dark side elements, or at least headed that way. She's singularly obsessed with stopping Thrawn and totally seems to forget the promise *she* made to Ezra the last time we saw her in this realm (we all know Bananakin would have kept the same promise, and at the simplest level, we are seeing Hera and Sabine being true to their fam). Further, the non-combat elements of Ahsoka training Sabine have all been, "do as I say, not as I do." We know Ahsoka went dark to get the map info from Morgan, and she totally rages on Shin while being completely off-balance vs. Baylan. I kind of see this next episode being a chance for Ahsoka to reassess her priorities and reset and then return to the physical world in a better emotional place. The way she's been written and directed to this point, it feels (to me, anyway) she has become a lot of those very things that left her disillusioned about the Jedi when she walked away.
ok, that's a lot, there, but that's how I'm seeing this play out ...

At the beginning of Episode 4, when Ashoka was asking for Sabine’s loyalty, I kept thinking, “why?”. Why is this mission an all or nothing event? Why is Ashoka now Judge Dredd? It could be that Anakin appears as she saw him as his Padawan. She has enshrined his memory. He was much of what she remembers him as being, but there is a bit of "rose-colored" nastalgia, which to me is how we are with those we love when they have passed on. Had Anakin known how she saw him, he would have been moved deeply. The Force is showing Ahsoka HER vision of her lost Master, which to me makes it all the more poignant. In a way, Ahsoka's memory is like our own. We see and remember as we want to see, denying the bad moments, misdeeds, mistakes, and hurt.

  • @madelinegarber7860
    @madelinegarber7860 Рік тому +3

I think you’re probably right on all counts. This is Ani as Ahsoka last remembers him and she’s feeling some trepidation and or unease because she knows what happened to him. Maybe he’ll guide her through the relevant events and timelines she needs to experience, maybe it’ll be Mori. Either way I agree that this is meant as both a teaching moment and a weird sort of therapy. Like here’s what actually happened, here’s the alternative, this wasn’t your fault. I also think she’s gonna learn some lessons about her place in the force and how best to make things right with Sabine and help her find her place in the force too. And Sabine’s going on her own journey too. But do you really think it’ll be as late as ep8 before we see Anakin’s true force ghost? Like in Kenobi where we saw Qui Gon at the very end? I could see it being sooner. But you know what I’d love? Whether Sabine becomes a jedi or not, I want Anakin to knight Ahsoka and maybe bestow the rank of master on her. A bit ironic I know. But man I’d get full body chills.

I think Meg is wildly off with the analysis here. I think you have to start with the most probable narrative purpose Ahsoka conversing with Anakin has-- well it's a dual purpose really: 1) how to defeat baylan; 2) how to be a successful master. 1) ahsoka really didn't lose to baylan, but he's something she hadn't faced before, a dark Jedi. Anakin is there to provide background info about baylan and to discuss the nature of the force with ahsoka. Filoni clearly operates off a force spectrum
    Ashla------bendu------bogan
    Yoda Bendu Palpatine
    Kenobi Bendu Maul
    Anakin Anakin Vader
    Ahsoka bendu baylan (etc)
What better place and time to broach this discussion than this point in ahsoka in wbw with anakin?; 2) obviously, if skyguy shows snips Sabine's fall, but just in general it's pretty obvious they'd discuss this, esp with the meta detail of Disney marketing masters and apprentices
So yeah, pretty simple, ahsoka in coma/unconscious is the vector for wbw entrance. Anakin is the force ghost anakin, without the ghosting because of wbw, wearing an outfit ahsoka would be more accustomed to, and most importantly with the experience of vader (why the theme) to discuss THE GRAYNESS OF THE FORCE

@@TisDansk here's some more inference/deduction from one of the big details of the episode I'm basing the comment on. Jacen Syndulla's drop of the infamous sw "I've got a bad feeling about this." Well now his force sensitivity has to be upheld and further demonstrated, so he has to be the one to find ahsoka. The only way that happens is if she isn't underwater-- he guides hera from the ghost. That cliffside isn't sheer. There are some crags, spikes, outcrops, etc. I think she's really in bad shape: unconscious/ half crushed/ maybe even like impaled. Such critical injury induces the coma which induces wbw. Being there once perhaps has left some kind of imprint on her, allows her to return there in certain states. Could see some kind of badass psychotropic induction of it in the future maybe, etc. it's not going away. Also makes me wonder if Anakin isn't going to be the only one she sees there... though hopefully like you both were saying he is this time. I also hope they FINALLY explain how she did get off malachor!

In Rebels Ezra was there to rescue Ahsoka because she never dies in the timeline which in turn Ahsoka was there to tell Ezra not to rescue Kanan which would have killed his other friends and alter the timeline. I think Ahsoka will have to let Anakin become Vader because that is the only way to defeat the Emperor.

He quick temper she has always had and what Anikin has always instilled in her. Bridging the space between Light and Dark, of which she has moved more towards the dark side. In this most recent fight, we see Ahsoka get darker and darker, especially when she thinks Sabine has been killed by Shin, and when she force throws Shin we see the Darker side of Baylan as he actually NOW intends to kill Ahsoka.
I think this is when Ahsoka must decide if she is Good (Light side) or Evil ( Dark side) now and the Sister will choose if Ahsoka is still worthy.

I don't think that it's a coincidence that Ahsoka sees Anakin right at the point he was most susceptible to the dark side. My revelation of this episode was that Ahsoka has so far been the villain of the show and this is her fall. It's sort of an accompaniment moment to the buzz-droids scene (Anakin in RotS and Ahsoka in TCW season 5 finale arc) that showed their departures from the Order.
That or maybe it's my cognitive dissonance with Sabine Jar-Jarring emergency powers to the Chancellor...or maybe Rosing the Ezra she loves insteading of Ahsokaing the Thrawn she fears.
edit: lol, I would also accept that Sabine realized her gun wasn't going to put a dent into the map-ball and was bluffing to distract Baylan so Ahsoka could get a window. Bluffing's never been her specialty though.

  • @senatorchris3134
    @senatorchris3134 Рік тому

Yes, I agree, all is not what it seems, but I don't think it's the brother from the Mortis arc. I'm more in the camp that it's similar to the tests that Kanan, Ezra and Ahsoka went through in the Lothal temple, before going to Malachor. It may also be a guide to help her move past what she feels over Anakins fall to the darkside. It wasn't her fault, he was already on that path when he slaughtered the sand people, Palpatine has already started to poison his mind.
I also hope it's a total surprise as to what is going on, that would be cool, Filoni is a clever writer and the Marrock reveal proves that, even though it had leaked, it was still cool, to see all those theorys as to who it was get chucked in the bin, so to speak, I had a bit of a chuckle too.

I saw another theory where they state anakin could have answered the calling of the father mortise God and taken his place. Making anakin the balancing mortise God which would alow him to truly be "the chosen one" who brings balance to the force just like the father mortise God did. They use this as an explanation as to why we don't see much of his force ghost in the movies and shows. After he died and became a force ghost he was still strong enough in the force to take the father mortise gods place like he wanted anakin to do and in the world between words he may be strong enough to fully bring him self back to solid form. It is an interesting premise, and one I would like to see explored.

I believe Ahsoka might still be in the process of falling off the cliff while having all her experiences in the WBW. She'll wake up when she hits the water🤷‍♂️ I'm wondering where her Owl is, perhaps it's Anakin? What I like about this show, is that I can speculate. It makes it more fun for the audience. I don't know why anyone would want to see leaks. It just ruins the experience.

I doubt Feloni would call it the World Between _Worlds_ plural if it didn't access all the possibilities the fact of time travel implies. No idea what that makes this guy but it could probably be anything from a projection of a version of Anikan who wasn't crippled by Obi-Wan and never died to a version who never became Vader at all and never died, if it's actually him at all.

Ashoka already got over Anakin turning to the dark side , after they duel in Rebels , when Ezra took her into the world btw worlds , she told Ezra when he tried to save Kanan that he can't save his master like she can't saved Anakin , that means that she accepted Anakin's fall into the dark side , and that there was nothing that she could've done to prevent that

    Not sure everyone knows this?
But Anikan's favorite color is black, that's most likely why he's wearing these instead of what he wore at the end of The Return of the Jedi.
The same with Luke, his favorite color black too.
They were breaking the trope of villains wearing black by wearing it too. That's awesome to me.

The world Between worlds (WBW, or "Dubbydub", as I call it) is where the cosmic and living force allows you to see fateful moments in order to learn. Do you earn that privilege somehow? I don't know. It can't be time travel, that would be terrible for Star Wars. I hope someday a group of characters decide to destroy all the portals to it.
Maybe Ahsoka is about to have like a near-death experience, Star Wars version of A Christmas Carol where she's visited by not literally Force ghosts but characters from past and present. We are with you Filoni, don't fumble!

  • @nichlaschristensson1055

There might be a portal to WBW in the waters where Ahsoka fell. It might be Anakin still, what if he when becoming a force ghost chose the appearance of himself before it goes bananas. Or the force ghosts always appearance as how the viewer remember them.
Nevertheless I still think that if Ahsoka had stayed with Anakin and rejoined the order. Anakin wouldn't have turned. So therefore she had to leave somehow for Palps plan to work

Did Anakin pull a know when not to kill to spare her the mistake that may have lead her to the dark side? Hence the walk down memory lane to see how her training may have put her is jeopardy if she continued under the path she's on. Following Anakin as he flashed Vader as she followed and remember the clone wars with Anakin and the Three.

Its not the imperial march, its Anakin's theme, which shares the phrase several times, at its finale.
Regardless the Anakin we see has a purpose specifically to change Ahsoka. Like you say, regardless of the manifestation's malice or benevolence it is for a tragic prurpose that teaches her. Maybe why she becomes "Ahsoka the white".

If the Anakin in the World Between Worlds is really how Ahsoka last remembers him, then why Darth Vader’s lightsaber? As Morai appeared in Rebels Season 4 when Ezra entered the World Between Worlds, as the soul of the Daughter, it would make sense that the Anakin figure Ahsoka sees is Tricks by the Son.
