Ja, wat 'n indrukwekkend stuk en wat verbluffend mooi uitgevoerd!
Prachtig!
What a great piece for a graduation. Bravo.
Dankje voor het delen van deze video. Ik heb genoten van dit voor mij onbekend stuk van Howells. Enne gefeliciteerd met het behalen van je diploma.
this is such an engaging performance. Beautiful.
Look how happy he is at 6.04! My favourite Howells organ moment.
Oh my! And there are not just 50 shades of "early" organs in the vein of Schnitger in Amsterdam and throughout The Netherlands; no! What do we see here? An authentic, unaltered Sauer of more modest size than the few big ones left in Germany; but: nay! Here is THE Sauer that shows us organists "en directe" the exquisite sounds/vibe of what we might (very carefully!) call the Germanic Cavaillé-Coll. This relatively modest Sauer is if course the ideal vehicle for Reger. Cavaillé-Coll, also. But why not just go for 100% authenticity when it is available. The particular transparency cum luminosity of this example of Ludwig Sauer's work is as excellent for the Reger "Wachet auf" as it is for "Ach bleib," the first CP of op. 135a, miniatures a church organist cannot do without. Bravo to you Dutch that this instrument exists in 2024.
A propos! What kind of nation are you Dutch?! Like all the "Nordic" cultures including Lübeck and Schleswig-Holstein and West-Friesland: you were dealt a bad hand of cards 1933-1945. And ya'll played that hand in an ultra-admirable way. It was called playing the game to limit the humiliation, the death and the destruction to the absolute minimum. Chapeaux bas❤❤! It is why we have most of the many fine organs today in 2024 in the Netherlands. Genius! Goodness. Truth. Realpolitik at its finest.
Now. For all of us to use all this genius, goodness, commitment to historical truth, real patriotism in order to PREVENT another 1933. It takes real vigilence bc we think a Trump is comical--until it suddenly isn't. May God, the EU, NATO and our US Constitution over here help us. Dreifach: Amen!!!
indrukwekkend.
