  • Georgian cuisine is world-renowned for a reason; besides the classic khachapuri (cheese bread) and khinkali (soup dumplings), there are many varieties of Georgian food at different price points, and Tbilisi, the capital city of Georgia, is one of the best places to try them all! It’d be impossible to feature all the different places and dishes we ate during our time in Georgia, but we’ve picked out a few spots from Tbilisi to sample some of the delicious dishes here. In this video, we try Georgian barbecue chicken, eggplant with walnut paste, fried mushrooms stuffed with sulguni cheese, cucumber tomato salad, lobiani (bean paste pancake), ajapsandali (stewed eggplant, tomato, and onions), and soup kharcho (stewed beef with a walnut tomato base). We try the Imeretian, Adjarian, and Rachan versions of khachapuri, and we try khinkali of different kinds too! What are your favorite spots to eat in Tbilisi? Or which of these dishes would you most like to try? Let us know down below in the comments!

    The real secret is knowing that Georgia existed LONG before many countries and is the true origin of many foods. The humility of Georgians is massively underrated as they are both one of the influential and ancient cultures on the planet. It's recently found that Georgia has some of the oldest civilization on the planet. -Very proud of my heritage and my DNA ;)
    By far the Khinkali is the best, the brother of Khinkhali is Pelmini in Russia and of course their step children are Dimsum in Asia and Dumplings in Poland. Yes, you are eating the parents of Pizza and Dumplings lol

      Absolutely! It was astonishing to learn about Georgia's rich, rich history! And yes, khinkali is unbeatable and undeniable 🥰

    Georgia ranked fourth among the 48 European cuisines following Italy, France and Spain in the Thrillist's list.

    Having visited Turkey, Israel, Morroco before visiting Georgia, the food all seemed and tasted similar. Starchy, meaty, too sweet, and not so much variety. I ended up enjoying authentic Thai food in Tiblisi.

    Oh man I would get so fat if I lived there 🤣 the khachapuri looks amazing! At least they have the healthier option of cucumber and tomato salad though 😄

      Yes, the veggie options are somewhat limited here! 🤣 Lots of bread, cheese, and meat everywhere you go!

    That dumpling is much like Mongolian Buuz. Yes, you are supposed to drink the juice first so it doesn't run everywhere. Though if my suspicions are right, most of that juice is fat.

    • @ChensofaLifetime
      @ChensofaLifetime  Рік тому +1

      Hahaha yes, probably, but fat tastes good 😉 we think it tastes pretty different from buuz though!

      You should make a small bite, blow into it in order to cool it off a little bit and drink the broth. Then, you can eat the rest of it minus a knob you`re holding a Khinklai with your hands with.
