Good afternoon, guys! satsivi is a few servings. It was necessary to put a portion on your plate with a spoon and moisten it with Georgian bread, helping yourself with a fork.

so I an from Georgia and I am pretty sure everyone wants to know how churchkela is made. you put sting on the needle an put needle in the walnuts. than you take special (it is not the juice you make wine with) grape juice, boil it, add flour. than you remove the needle and hold walnuts with a sting and dip it in the hot felamushi (the grape juice an flour). than you dry the churchkelas and its ready to eat. you can also put felamushi on plate, wait to get cold an ate it raw. I personally love both churchkela and felamushi. all Georgian people are soooo proud that the tourists make videos about our country. Thank you. sending lots of love

I have a property in Tbilisi, and food is wonderful; it has risen in price by quite a lot since you were in Georgia, but where hasn't? As a Brit, I do return to the UK from time to time, but am always pleased to get back to the food. The people are so welcoming, and as my partner is Georgian, there is no language barrier where there are few English speakers... I chose well, she is lovely! Good luck on your videos, will look at more of them out of interest, as I travelled a lot, before settling here - even went to SA to see my ex wife's family, in Ramsgate near Durban, and did the Wine Route too. Cost me more than living in Georgia though. Good luck, you two!
That's so lovely! We miss Georgia, especially the people and the food 😊 We know Ramsgate and actually live right near Durban 😄🇿🇦 Thank you so much! Have you explored much of Georgia outside of Tbilisi?
@@SarahandMarek - my partner is Georgian, met her in 2010. Moved here again in 2018, and since then been here. Due to work, Covid, and now this war, have not as yet seen too much - will change next year though! Used to drive here, but the locals are mad! Sister-in-law moved from Ramsgate back to Sandtown (Sandton?) Jo'burg, and not sure if still there. Stellenboch and all along the south wine route, etc, was lovely. Remember it fondly :)

Thank you so much for your nice comment 😄 Batumi really is a wonderful city, we enjoyed every moment of our time there 😁 thank you so much for watching our video!
Dankie vir jou vinnige reaksie op onlangse kommentaar. Ek hou van hierdie video oor Georgiese kos. - Nice Drone Action. You have good equipment. Must be heavy. That chicken looked amazing, but surprisingly difficult to eat, being so saucy. I applaud you both for powering through it. They should have given you bread. That's what I always used in place of a utensil if I didn't have one, or if the food chunks were too big and dripping. That was definitely too boney for using a knife & fork to cut it, (oh - and I noticed that they didn't give you a knife either). When I used to travel I was usually hesitant to eat with my left hand (the wiping hand), even in countries where their right hand was what they used for eating (called Padang style). But, however messy that dish was, I still want a jug of that garlic-walnut sauce to bring home. Yum. BTW, I really appreciate how much research you do for these videos - and for the time that you put into the on-screen name-cards for the local-dishes you're eating. I used to make adventure television for Discovery Channel & Animal Planet and I know how much work it takes to select locations and get permission to record there. I suppose it all comes down to the little things, and to making them appear effortless or even invisible; as if your food adventure didn't require any work at all. And if you're doing this production on your own, just the two of you, including post, editing, VFX, & rendering, then you are definitely performing the tasks of half a dozen people. Even the pronunciation of those dish-names didn't come automatically, as much as it sounded as if you had been speaking the language all of your lives. Kudos. That must have taken lots of planning, time and practice (maybe even a language coach). I appreciate that extra effort too. Do you outline a script beforehand or do you just wander around with your cameras and Wing It? Do you do multiple takes of the key shots or just one long documentation? Your videos look very clean and professional. I am surprised I didn't come across you early. I am working on a book/script based on World-Cuisine, expanding what I know by watching my favorite food vloggers (i.e. Mark Wiens, Mikey Chen at Strictly Dumpling, Sonny at Best Ever Food Review Show, TabiEats, Luke Martin, EATER, etc.) - and now 'Sarah & Marek'. And because I don't know Georgian Cuisine, this video really helps me. Keep up the stellar work you two. Hou aan met die fantastiese werk. - Julle is goeie onderwysers. - Dankie. - Die uwe - ek.
Thank you for such a nice comment Eric! 😄 It's just Marek and I doing everything and we definitely feel that sometimes because it can get overwhelming 😅 We try to have some sort of direction or plan for our videos but sometimes its more about just capturing our experience in which case there is no plan. It's really interesting to hear your perspective because you know how much work goes into video making. We really appreciate your feedback. Thank you for taking the time to share with us 😊 have a great weekend!
Honestly, we had never even considered traveling to Georgia before 3 months ago. Since arriving in this country, it has absolutely blown us away and fast become a favorite country of ours 🇬🇪❤
Happy to see your journey in Georgia. I am glad you liked georgian cuisine. I will tell you a secret. In Batumi, the only food from you list worth tasting was Adjarian Khachapuri. There are so many places in country to eat much better Khinkali, Kubdari, Lobio or Satsivi. Nevertheless it is still good. 😁 Thank you for this episode.
Thank you so much 😄 we loved visiting your country ❤🇬🇪 the food was all delicious, so to think we could have had it even better somewhere else is exciting 😁 where would you recommend we try those dishes? Thank you for watching 😊
Thank you so much! 😁 that's the first recommendation that we have received for that dish 🤩 definitely going to have to try it sometime then 🤭 thank you for watching 😁

Hello folks, It is very obvious you visited Georgia for the first time. Your experience could be much, much better if you ask about the ways how to eat and where to have your dishes : )
This was the first time I have seen a video from you guys and I enjoyed it greatly. You were lucky to have such beautiful weather that day. The chicken soup looked wonderful to me but I am a chicken fanatic - the walnut sweet at the end also looked good - but really everything you showed I would love to try. I have subscribed and look forward to other videos you post.
Thank you so much David! We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed our video 😄 we had beautiful weather in Batumi almost everyday we were there 😍 we really enjoyed that city! Georgian food is truly delicious 😍🇬🇪 we are excited to have you come along on our journey with us 😄
HAHA I love how our videos make you hungry, because your videos make us hungry! Love Food Tours and even with a short amount of time, you have to decide what you want to eat because there are always so many options! ALSO! LIKE COUNTER FOR THE WIN! HAHA. Really enjoyed watching you guys eat your way through Georgia. THOSE DUMPLINGS THOUGH
Thank you so much for watching guys 😄 This was our first food tour video and we enjoyed making it so much we think we'll have to make a food tour video for every country we visit in the future 😁 That like counter grew much faster than we anticipated 🤣
You should've tried Khashi (ხაში) if you're looking for something REALLY unique. It's a soup made from cow stomach, hooves and joints. It's super rich with minerals and calcium, when combined with milk, salt and garlic it's super tasty, but there are two kinds of people actually, those who absolutely love Khashi and those who cringe even at the name of it :D
That sounds so interesting! 😯 honestly, from the explanation, I feel like I would be the second person you described BUT! If you suggested it, then we definitely need to try it sometime 😆 its Georgian, so I'm pretty sure that we will love it 🤭 thank you so much for watching! 😁
That really means so much to us! 😁 Georgia treated us so well the entire time and we really hope that we did a good enough job to show people why they have to come and visit 🥳
a good tklapi is actually very flavorful, it almost tatste like dried tkemali (idk if you got to try it) its sour in a best way possible. I am sorry the one you found was not so good, Also there is no better dessert than a good Churchkhela, but unfortunately these days it's hard to find a real good churchkhela :) I love your videos
Thank you for your comment 💛 We actually bought a tlapi a few days later which tasted completely different so we know what you're talking about ☺️ the soft churchkelas were our favourite 🤤 We miss Georgian food so much 😍🇬🇪

Howzit! 😄 Haha crazy to think that we are so far away from home 🤯 the food was so good and Georgia also makes meat on a braai which is delicious! 😁 unfortunately couldn't squeeze it in as well 😆 the weather in Batumi is perfect! If it gets too hot it's nice to know that you can take a quick dip in the sea. Otherwise its not too humid, it really is the perfect weather 😄 thanks so much for watching!

Thank you so much 😄 We stayed in Batumi for a total of 17 days and it cost us $597,51 for both of us. The $671 were my earnings from teaching English online during our stay in Batumi 🤓 hope this helps!
That really would've been such a great addition to the tour! 😱 we would have to agree with you there hey, it's one of the best foods that we've tasted 🤭 Haha but if we had to try and fit it in together with all the food, we would definitely have popped 😆 didi madloba for watching, we really appreciate you 😁

Does anybody know an ingredient that looks like a candle, and appears to be made of nuts in the middle and some kind of thick dried fruit leather around it. There is a wick going through the nuts. But no oil to burn: it's dry. Looks like the thread is just for hanging. I got it in a bag with georgian script on it, which may or may not have a connection. I wonder what you're supposed to do with it.
Haha 😂 we've been saying to each other that we will have to learn how to make some of these dishes so that we can prepare them for ourselves when we come back to SA ❤🇬🇪🇿🇦

funny thing is that the last 'strange' treat would be considered the most traditional Georgian food out of all you've tasted lol, also you should have still gotten lobiani it has a completely different charm to pot lobio
That is very true 😄 it is one of the strangest foods that we have seen but it is so SO good! 🤯 we really wish that we could've tasted it that day but unfortunately the restaurants that we chose didnt serve it 🤭 we have since then tasted lobiana and wish that we did include it in the video, it's amazing! 😁 honestly, if we could've, we would've eaten every single dish that we found but by the end of it, we were so full that we nearly ended up rolling back home 🤣 during our entire stay in Georgia, we have tasted so many different dishes and Georgian food is 100% our favourite food that we have ever tasted 😍 thank you so much for watching, we really appreciate your support 🥳

Beautiful ❤️

I've never considered Georgia but it looks awesome!
Thank you for this episode.

Note for enthusiasts: When visiting georgia you eat roast meat in kakheti, cheese related dishes in adchara and khinkali in Tbilisi.
ALso Kubdari in Svaneti.

Georgian food is truly delicious 😍🇬🇪 we are excited to have you come along on our journey with us 😄
Hello from Georgia,Good luck.
Gamarjoba Linda, didi madloba 😄🇬🇪❤️
Thanks for travel to my country

Marek's favorite Georgian food is Khachapuri and my favorite is Kubdari 🤤🇬🇪
O, yes… to eat churchkhella just break it in small chunks :-) And… try for sure Chkmeruli chicken next time. They are making it everywhere in Georgia!
Thank you! It's always great to get tips from locals on how to eat the yummy local food 😍🇬🇪 Thank you, we will definitely try that next time 😁
a good tklapi is actually very flavorful, it almost tatste like dried tkemali (idk if you got to try it) its sour in a best way possible. I am sorry the one you found was not so good, Also there is no better dessert than a good Churchkhela, but unfortunately these days it's hard to find a real good churchkhela :) I love your videos
Thank you for your comment 💛 We actually bought a tlapi a few days later which tasted completely different so we know what you're talking about ☺️ the soft churchkelas were our favourite 🤤 We miss Georgian food so much 😍🇬🇪
I am Georgian and pretty sure most of us would be disappointed that u didn't try lobiani and we eat churchkhela without cutting it loved the vid tho

For example, today we had 37c

@@SarahandMarek Awww thanks for a great video. Keep it up! ❤️
That is called a Churchkhela and is absolutely DELICIOUS! Chop in into rounds and eat as is 🤤 obviously not the wick of course 😆
Oh my god, this is correct. I didn't think the mystery would get solved.
Bring some food back to South Africa
Haha 😂 we've been saying to each other that we will have to learn how to make some of these dishes so that we can prepare them for ourselves when we come back to SA ❤🇬🇪🇿🇦

funny thing is that the last 'strange' treat would be considered the most traditional Georgian food out of all you've tasted lol, also you should have still gotten lobiani it has a completely different charm to pot lobio
