    I've watched dozens of reviews of Airstreams and yours are, by far, the best! You take the time to, not just show, but demonstrate and explain to a detail no one else does.. Thank you so much Patrick! If I ever buy new, I'm coming to you..

    O Patrick, I just love the way you tell us every single thing we need to know! Seriously! We already know that airstreams are gorgeous, but you make us so familiar with all their features, we feel as tho we could live in them! You really deserve a raise! You are the best asset that Colonial Airstream has!

    Patrick. Superb Video. The GoPro wide angle lens is the perfect tool to show the inside of the Airstream without making a lot of pans. Most people would accept this visual concept as a natural way of showing features. Those who complain would be hard pressed to do better with a fixed 50mm lens, and I believe they should get off the couch and see it for themselves. Your attention to detail and knowledge of your product is refreshing.

    Thank you Mr. Bottacelli, Your video is excellent. When my kids finish college in two years, my dream is to buy an airstream and see this continent. This is the king of trailers. If you look at other trailers, you know this is the highest quality and best design.

    Best airstream videos on the web, thanks for your time and details for each model. BTW, I thought your camera work and audio was done well. The GOPRO really helps to see the width of the camper inside without excessive panning.

    I watch rv videos ALL THE TIME! You are the BEST EVER! Tons of details, very thorough tour, inside and out. You can tell you know every inch of your product and you love what you are doing. I'm telling you I have spent hundreds of hours over the last 2 years watching rv videos and you, my friend, are the BEST ONE EVER! I'll watch more! Don't listen to these critical meanies! lol you seem like a very nice person and you are very professional. I've never seen a better or more detailed presentation. God bless. :-)

      ***** I posted your video on my fb page and told everybody to watch it. I did watch a few more of your videos last nite. I really didn't know much about Airstreams and the information you give about the exterior construction and all the special aluminum work really makes you view these rvs as a livable work of art. Like a space capsule! They are very nice. I was surprised when you mentioned they are not really suitable for 4 season living in winter conditions. That may be something they could consider adding is a "polar pack" with the heavy duty insulation under and all around with heated tanks, etc. A lot of people are interested in full time rv'ing these days. Freedom and simplifying your life. Anything your company can do to make your products really livable for year round living in any climate would add a whole untapped market for your products. I was so impressed with the videos I was considering this as an option but I would be in Massachusetts most of the time and Fl for a few months but mostly MA. I also have a lot of birds so the set up isn't quite big enuf for my situation even on the larger models but they are spectacular. I'd recommend them to anyone who wasn't gonna use them in winter conditions cuz they are very unique and high quality. And yes there are a lot of bullies in the world in general. Its a sad thing. I've never understood how they feel better about themselves by only looking for the negative or just tearing someone down. Ultimately I have come to know these kind of people hate themselves so they project their hate onto others who are kind and full of light cuz they see in those people what they have chosen not to cultivate in themselves. They feel jealous on a subconscious level. All they have to do is read some self help books, work on themselves to be a better person and stop being such a$$holes, to put it simply. But they never will. They think its a power trip to be a bully when all it really is is a little kid who was probably abused and is still acting that out and repeating what was done to them. Just feel sorry for them and disengage. That's all you can do. They have to decide to change themselves and stop abusing others. In the mean time, keep doing your thing. You obviously love what you are doing and your product and that shines thru. Best wishes and God bless.

    Patrick, your videos have done more to inform and educate me about Airstreams than anything else I have found on the internet. I have watched may of them multiple times and will continue to do so. I'm from the east coast and now living on the west coast. However, if anyone back east asks me where to purchase an Airstream and from whom, I am going to send them to Colonial Airstream to ask for you. Also, I don't mind the lens you are using. Otherwise I don't think you would really be able to see everything you are taking about. Keep up the good work.

    Airstream, as always, top of the line. I would love to have one but can't fit it into the budget. Nonetheless I enjoyed the walk through. You did an excellent job of describing the amenities as well as the easy functionality. I became acquainted with travel trailers in Florida during the 60's when I owned a travel park and motel in Cedar Key. I lived in a house on the property but the folks in Airstreams had more luxurious abodes.

    • @ellesnyder942
      @ellesnyder942 9 років тому +4

      +Distant Signal I disagree. If you want to see the inside of a small space, you need a wide-angle lens to show it off.

    • @distantsignal
      @distantsignal 9 років тому

      +Elle scooter W ide angle, yes. But that's a super-wide. Distorts the actual size and shape of things. I guarantee I can show every detail on the inside of that Airstream with a normal lens without fudging on how much space is really inside.

  • @dphotos007
    @dphotos007 10 років тому +7

    Love the trailer but to be honest I would reshoot the video with a normal lens. Looks like you shot it with a fish eye GoPro. It distorts your product to much. As a viewer I do not like to see any products shot with a fisheye lens. Hire a professional cameraman who will shoot, edit plus monitor your sound for you. It will give your trailer business a more professional presentation.

    I would like to know how deep are the counter tops for the kitchen and bathroom sink areas. In a home they are 24 inches deep. I'm assuming they are not that deep in an RV. Would it be safe to say that they are about 18 inches deep?
    Also, how wide is the average decent sized stove and refrigerator in a good sized RV?

    Why don't you design the table where it turns into a bed to be a push button system that the table is supported by a hydraulic lift that somehow automatically repositions the cushions as well? and how about having the folding doors that give you privacy in the bedroom and have this be an electric door that can be closed while you are in bed with controls on the side of your bed with a push of a button?

    @jackfntwist 9 років тому +19

    You really shouldn't be using a fish eye lens to show these trailers. Extreme distortion does them a huge dis-service. Makes everything look curved, and kind of "Alice in Wonderland".

    • @dontaggart177
      @dontaggart177 9 років тому +2

      It's not a fish eye lens, it's a wide angle lens. Looks good to me.

    • @jackfntwist
      @jackfntwist 9 років тому +2

      dontaggart177 Any extreme wide angle lens is a fish eye lens because it creates rounded distortion, and exposure vignetting. 17mm is probably the minimum you could get away with. But for inside a motor home, unless you want every straight surface to look curved, then you should use probably 24mm or more. Many video cameras (like GoPro) made for sports, action, and outside stuff come with a very wide angle lens. That's not good for selling a motor home, or for close ups of people.

    • @jackfntwist
      @jackfntwist 9 років тому +3

      ***** Didn't mean to sound harsh. I'm a photographer and was trying to help. I loved the tour but as a viewer it just had a very distorted perspective.

    • @jackfntwist
      @jackfntwist 9 років тому

      I think he's just using a GoPro, and is not a photographer, and nobody ever pointed it out to him. Since these trailers are already really curved, it would be nice to see them as they are, instead of with the extra distortion. you don't need a wide lens inside a trailer, a standard lens would really bring the lines / curves out nicely.

    • @oceandrew
      @oceandrew 9 років тому +2

      Jack FnTwist And this is where you stumble. You must be a wedding photographer. You know your details, your portraits and your groups. When you shoot wide you have room to back up.
      What you don't know is your confined spaces. A 24mm lens on full frame body will only cover 8 feet from 8 feet away. But if you're 4ft away and need to cover 8ft or more you have to go to a wider lens. Simple geometry.
      True, details at the edges of the frame will be distorted if not careful and people close up will look pretty hideous but that's not the point. The point is the sense of space where there isn't much to photograph in effectively. The brain is pretty capable of filtering or compensating for barrel distortions.
      Give Patrick a break, his videos and walk throughs are the best on UA-cam. He covers all the details, is knowledgable about them and gives a great sense of what it must feel to be in the space. That is what counts in these types of videos.

    Why do smaller Airstreams have no space for preparing food? Just burner and a sink right next to each other. I see many clever ideas in these trailers, but there's no think such as sliding counter top or something. Of course there's a table, but after preparing a meal it will be a little bit dirty so cleaning it another time to eat would be annoying.

    Enjoyed the video but sure wish it had been filmed with a better camera. Distorted so that you can't get a good idea of the actual size of the interior.

    This was a very informative video, however, the "fisheye" lens or "peephole" lens type you are using makes everything look distorted and bending......very hard to see. Next video, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT use this type lens on your camera. Just use something regular.

    Love it, only problem is airstreams cost so much they are pretty much just for the caviar crowd...

    this should be an example of how everything should be built. there's really no excuse for the sloppy, half assed construction that is so common, and accepted everywhere. people understand that things will cost a little more, but I think you'd find that most are willing to pay it if they can. in the end, better construction costs you less, and is worth so much more in ways that are difficult to quantify, like less stress, or worry over small things that keep breaking, etc. not to mention LESS WASTE, in the end, way less things would be thrown away 1/4 of the way thru their expected lifespan. it would be a better way to live, and it's within our ability to do it...but we won't.
