    This is why I'm proud to be an Australian.
    I can just walk outback and find these beautiful thing I devote my life to. Because of these beautiful works of art, I've become a chemist and I love studying the elements and the different combinations of them(chemical formula) that create minerals.
    Love your channel. Keep up the good work. :)

    Liz what you need it a ‘skull-cam’ so you can lift the pieces with your other hand and show us the full beauty of the rocks. What a beautiful bounty you have there. So, so lucky to be you. A lot of work in front of you though to get that lot sorted out. 👍🏻

    Your enthusiasm is absolutely infectious. I love that you get so much joy out of these beautiful rocks and crystals. It's great to watch and listen to you doing your thing, explaining and just enjoying what you do. I have a tiny collection I started when my daughter was little, just to get her interested in the world. We still have most of them, but she's not as interested as she was when she was little, but every now and then I see her pick up the piece of rainbow fluorite I got for her to hold onto when she was little, if she was scared. We called it her 'calm rock'. And although I don't believe it has any supernatural qualities, just its prettiness was enough to give her something else to think about when she was at the dentist or something. Sorry, rambling. Thanks again for sharing with us, Liz.

      I know what you mean Debbie. I wish I can call it Imperial Jade as that's what I thought at first when I found the first piece. I was jumping up and down with glee... Unfortunately here in Australia, it is called Common Opal. In other countries, it is known as Prase Opal which I think is a better name. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers, Liz

    the thing that makes an emerald and emerald is if the beryl is colored with chromium. (and sometimes vanadium, in Africa) It does not mater how green it is or how clear it is, it is still an emerald if it is colored with chrome. what you need is a chelsea filter. Back light the stone and look at it through the filter. If in the filter the stone looks red, it is an emerald, if not it is a green beryl. It also will distinguish the difference between chrome chalcedony and chrysophrase. Real handy. And speeking of GREEN, I am GREEN with envy over your mineral haul. I love your videos.

    What a collection, very nice haul indeed Liz.
    Would be wonderful being able to find rocks like those.
    Was any of the jasper from any "known" areas or just looked interesting? Have seen some beautiful pieces from over that way.

      Thanks for watching Ian. The Jaspers are not from any specific known areas but were found while tromping over the countryside in search of gold. Hope you're still getting some spare time to chase some rocks yourself and look forward to catching up again sometime. Cheers, Liz

      Thanks for watching Isla. As far as identification is concern, it can really be difficult and more difficult to explain it here. I will try to show it in a future video the process I go through in identifying the different gems, rocks and minerals that I find. Cheers, Liz

    Liz, have you ever thought that maybe the Chrysoprase that you found with the bluish colour might be Aquaprase? The only other deposit is said to have originated in Africa, maybe you might be on to something new!

    • @LizKreate
      @LizKreate  2 роки тому +1

      UA-cam just showed this comment recently and I just saw it now. Thank you for this information. I had it tested and they are inconclusive but I do have all the lab results on it's chemical composition. I think you might be right. Aquaprase is a good name. 🙏

      @@LizKreate I'm so shocked! I can only hope that you've made a new discovery in Australia! I saw a jewellery maker on telly who called this gem he used Aquaprase but wouldn't say anymore about it except that the only deposit was known to be in Africa. He didn't say where he had obtained his supply from. I can't find anything on the web yet about anything under the name Aquaprase, unless this guy made up the name himself? I'm sorry I can't be of anymore help but I'm pretty confident you have everything in hand. Please let me know if you get any more news. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!🤞

    Hi Liz my apologies for being a little cheeky but I live in a town called Bridgetown WA SOUTH WEST.I was very curious if your lovely self with such a wonderful knowledge and channel to watch if you know of any places I could go rock hunting with my family with a 500km radius around my way. Would be hugely grateful. MANY THANKS AND BEST OF LUCK.👍

    • @LizKreate
      @LizKreate  Рік тому +1

      Hi Patrick, I don't know of any area near Bridgetown or 500km radius. Best doing a bit of research online. The trouble with fossicking in WA is that one can't just jump in the car on a weekend due to the strict prospecting regulations. One has to go through the process of getting a miner's permit which is easy enough done but the next step is the problem. You have to go on the WA mines department online and take a look at Tengraph to find available locations and apply for a 40E permit which when approved, has a 21-day waiting period. Only then can you go prospecting. If caught without a permit, big fines, vehicle confiscation or prosecution is possible. Best of luck! Cheers, Liz

      @@LizKreate thanks Liz yes WA is sadly very problematic for a mum and Dad to go for a weekend camp to have some simple fun outdoors. Not the Lucky Country it used to be. Thanks for your advice 👍

      I've had some good luck I have a friend a senior geologist on the Lithium mine in Greenbushes WA. I should of ask him along time ago but felt a little rude. Anyways he has been kind and given me some amazing core samples from his collection. It's most certainly made it now a genuine ambition to see what's around with the appropriate paperwork. But one piece I received is a piece of white Opal that has been located actually near the mine in Greenbushes sounds almost unheard of. But very excited. All the best.👍❤️

    Hello liz, I just love your joy for crystals and gem stones :) very cool! Please can you do a vid on chemical testing between say jade and emerald or coloured stones which are hard to tell the difference and it would be fantastic if you could give the viewers an idea of which rocks/crystals are valuable or just from time to time explain how much some pieces you find, an example of the price you could sell them for........obviously not on everything just from time to time.........obviously the beauty of finding these amazing crystals/rocks is the most valuable and exciting part of all, it's so great to hear your excitement when you find all these amazing gifts from this earth :) lastly thanks so much for sharing your finds and knowledge. Much health, love and light to you and wally :) (gal from oz)
