    At about 6:50 it switches to maybe Burma? with Mountbatten and the American General "Vinegar" Joe Stillwell.

    3:36 the GI on the right is wearing the 8th Infantry Division patch. This is not the 79th ID........

      Regardless, the 79th was there at the time. my great uncle was KIA July 13th.

      @@glennb2227 my great grandfather was WIA 9th July 1944. he was 79th DIV 315th REGT. Company B.

      @@chemBTW My Great Uncle was also 79th Div. 315th Reg., but I can't recall if he was in Company B or not. Not sure if I know how to track that down.

      James C My Dad was 79th ID 314th company I. He was wounded at LaHaye du Puit. He is still with us and just turned 95 in April. He still remembers a great deal about his time in combat. He remembers many bad things that he wishes he could forget such as friends getting killed. He was only 19 at the time.

    at 1:24 the american soldiers look like they are wearing ballistic vests. I know there were flak jackets in Korea and WWII pilots had vests but not that some soldiers had them.

      it is an ammunition carrying vest, designated as M2 Ammunition bag; they have large pockets on fore and rear sides which can fit large ordnance such as mortar or bazooka rounds
