    This series fascinates me. My wife and I will be staying at the Wynn in May so we can walk across the street to Casino Quest. I could listen to Dave for hours. Interesting and funny.

    Great video, thanks David Noll. I was dice dealer a long time ago (about 25 years ago). I have an interview and live audition in a few days and this video is definitely very helpful, thanks again!

    Craps dealer here. The spot he calls "down the center" we call that "straight out" the spot that he says has no name we call that "2 from"

      Yes, thank you. I’ve never heard this in my life. Or learn their names and refer to them as such, better service, better tokes.

    Great Video. Just wondering if it was shown or discussed. Dealers have chips in their hands calculated to pay all 5-6 players if it's been 2-3 chip denominations and go around paying on one run without going back to his rack. Great mental strength and a piece of art.

    You are almost right, the reason most of the casinos do not allow players to have this kind of funny bets and they are accepting increments of 5 for "4,5,9,10" and 6 for "6 and 8" is because they slow down the game. You might get 50-60-70cents extra but you don t move the game, for those cents you don t want to keep the dice in the middle of the table you wanna have them move. Believe it or not, dice is a mechanical game, dealers with experience don t think about payouts, we know it just by looking at the chips most of the time we don t even know how much is the bet, we know the color of the chips, adding something extra as little mess with the flow. Cheers ;)

    If you have players in pos. 2 and 3, do you ever position their cheques in pos. 2 and 4(or pos. 1 and 3) to provide space for easier placement/access? Obviously when the table gets more filled up it might be prudent to place them in the correct spot.

    • @ColorUp
      @ColorUp  2 роки тому +1

      Correct spots always, dealers rotate every 15-20min and would need to pick up and know who’s bets are whose. Security is watching, and position would be important if any question arose.

    What about putting up the keys for the property bets & the no 6 & 8

    • @themfingmfer
      @themfingmfer 2 роки тому

      There is no key. The 6 and 8 pay 7 to 6. Therefore proper bets would be increments of six dollars.

    So if the point is 5 and you want a $6 6, a $6 8 and a $5 9 would you still say “$17 inside”? Is there an “all at once” way to say that bet?

    • @ColorUp
      @ColorUp  3 роки тому +1

      Yes, "inside" always refers to the 5 thru 9. If the point is one of those numbers, the dealers will know you want the rest of the numbers based on amount of money you give them.

    Why do roulette tables make you use chips and go through a whole cashing out process?

    • @ColorUp
      @ColorUp  3 роки тому +2

      To tell the difference between players. In craps each player has a separate position that their bet is in. In roulette everyone betting on the 25 for instance just stacks their chips up. So the colors tell who’s bet on the numbers

    I love that a professional dealer still calls them "chips" despite knowing for YEARS they are "cheqs" 😂

    • @SteveWinfield
      @SteveWinfield 3 роки тому +3

      What I thought was interesting was his explanation of the difference. Chips have no value; you cannot exchange them for money. Cheqs have actual monetary value; you can cash then out right away. So, at any practice table anywhere they would be called chips and at the casinos they would be called cheqs.

    • @brandonkellner4053

      Cheques are just chips that can be exchanged for money.

      Cutting being short for drop cutting is different than sizing. Sizing in is to duplicate a stack. A drop cut is to cut out a certain amount of cheques onto the table making a new stack
