I am wondering if the pump is operating properly.. I should think that arm should be spinning faster and the water spray (as someone else pointed out) does seem weak. I would think either the motor is weak or the arm is clogged.. just a thought
I don't think they should give up on this idea. I've looked at the over-priced, unsightly countertop dishwashers, but I was unimpressed. There are a lot of apartments, mobile homes, etc., that could use this item. I'm single, but I need a dishwasher to get my dishes clean. There is a great need for this item, if it works properly and is affordable. Until then, I'll have "dish-pan hands".
I have a small, portable Dishwasher, Kenmore by Frigidaire, which is discontinued, I love it. I only wash glasses and pots by hand. I do remember when these were for sale. Too bad they no longer support these models, and continued to upgrade them.
FYI - only two in our house & don't really mind washing by hand, but I hate the wasted space - mine is 40x22 can't just run to Lowes & get a sink to drop in the space if I removed it. Ok I am done with my rant! ✌
MagfromFlorida You can special order sinks with an integral drain board on one or both sides. Might be wide enough to fill your counter opening after removing the dishwasher. Try Elkay.
great demo.... so what's the verdict? recommended or not? a full sized dishwasher is overkill for my needs so always been intrigued by these sink type, and drawer typer dishwashers.
I have one of these and the ground fault interrupter went bad. Does anyone have a unit that isn't working (that you may not have removed or thrown away) that I can buy that part from you?
This was the worst idea that KitchenAid/Whirlpool could have come up with ... unfortunately. This would have been ideal for a studio apartment. The problem was with the spray action.
I have one of these, hubby loved it & had to have when we remodeled kitchen.....well it's been broken for about 1 yr, KA does not make parts, very nice rep referred me to Angel Appliances # 877.835.6030, said they carry discontinued parts for many things. Haven't had service tech out yet to even determine what part I may need, disgusted with it basically! Paid a lot of $ - KA should stand behind any product it makes, but not in this case! Trying to reconfigure without remodeling!
What a piece of shit. Water doesn't hit the center, and doesn't get corners well. Water pressure is weak, Spray arm turns slow. And these things are expensive

Perhaps it is not supposed to turn as fast, giving more water time to blast the dishes as it does turn?

Very slow, weak, uneven, spray action. It's no wonder why KitchenAid discontinued this model. Great concept, but the real proof was in the pudding.
