    I just finished my first one! I am a beginner with sewing and I made this bear out of my grandma's pajama bottoms because she just passed away. It turned out perfect and was such a confidence booster that I could sew something to look that nice.

    I had been "commissioned" as a member of our local Woman's Club to make a bear for a child attending Paul Newman's Camp Boggy Creek, a camp for seriously ill children. I have tried many websites and two different patterns, but this one was the easiest to follow. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

    Excellent tutorial; very well demonstrated and explained. Word to the wise: I tried to stuff the arms and legs before sewing them on so that I wouldn't have to do as many ladder closures -- big mistake! The bear is too small so once the stuffed arms and legs are tucked inside for you to sew the perimeter, there's too much strain to keep the raw edges lined up. Follow the video and you'll be just fine! The little girl I made it for loved how soft it was - and it was the perfect size! This makes up fairly quickly, even for a novice sewist.

    I just made this bear from your pattern that got a year or so ago. I had the Simplicity version and didn’t quite like it.
    THIS pattern is much more better and easier to sew. Plus it looks so adorable. Thank you so much!

    I can’t say enough about your pattern and video! I made a memory bear from one of my husband’s shirts, then one for my neighbor using her father’s shirt. Everyone that sees these bears goes crazy over them. There is something very special with your pattern! Thank you for such a helpful video. ❤

    I will be purchasing this bear in the future after I kinda get used to the Mamie Bear. Can you tell me what’s different between this one and the Mamie? Thank you so much for these tutorials!

    Hi there I have this pattern and was wondering where you get the eyes and nose from? Your link shows packages of many, I would just need 1 set. Maybe if you could tell me what size I need it would help?

    • @MakeAMemoryBearCompany
      @MakeAMemoryBearCompany  Рік тому

      I buy eyes and noses all over the place. Usually I check to see which Etsy seller has the best price. But if I need them right away and can't wait for shipping, I have found them at craft stores such as Hobby Lobby or Joanne's - usually in the doll making section.
      I put the sizes I like to use on the pattern under the section titled "Face", on the page "Tips for Success", and in the video at 12:03.
      For eyes I typically use 15mm and nose 20mm; however, this is my design preference and you can certainly choose eyes and noses that are bigger or smaller.

    You mention baby onesies in the video, is it possible to do the pattern with that stretch fabric that onesies are made of? If so, should any adjustments be made?

    • @MakeAMemoryBearCompany
      @MakeAMemoryBearCompany  Рік тому +1

      Hi! Yes...I would absolutely recommend using an iron-on fabric stabilizer or fusible interfacing. The onesie material is soooo stretchy, your bear would possibly turn out really round and would be unable to keep its shape or sit upright. This is one I have used before:

    • @MakeAMemoryBearCompany
      @MakeAMemoryBearCompany  4 місяці тому

      It's a stuffed teddy bear made from clothing! You can either make it from a loved one's clothing once they pass away, or you can make it from baby or kids clothes once they outgrow them. ◡̈
