Sebarial: The Only Good Billionaire | WORDS OF RADIANCE

- Sebarial is not only one of the Alethi highprinces in Brandon Sanderson's Stormlight Archive series, he is also based as hell. In this video, I go on an unhinged rant about my favorite character, why he is an icon, and why he represents our generation.

Sebarial and Palona chilling out during the high storm, reading a novel, is the best thing ever.
"oh yeah, i cleaned up this mess for you"
*during the start of the everstorm even
I know this comment is old, but I just finished WoR yesterday and I audibly laughed at that part
us: “billionaires are leeches”
sebarial: “i know and that sucks, but i can’t help you because then i’d have to stop being a billionaire and i don’t want to do that”
Billionaires do be kinda based
I love sebarial and love this video and get the title to catch you but its important to note that Sebarial would be the equivalent of a multimillionaire in the low hundreds of millions range.
Its a *far* way off from the weight of capital and resources of a billionaire (like a LONG way) and humans are really bad at processing how vast the difference is.
There is no one with the equivalent weight of resources of a billionaire on this planet, not kings, not rulers, none.
That headshot of Brandon Sanderson is so funny and wholesome he looks like a literature professor that keeps extending your thesis due date cause he knows life gets hard sometimes.
I can't wait to finally read this series and make you proud, Jake, I will finally understand everything you're saying LOL
That headshot IS so iconic, lol. And even in his lectures he talks about extending deadlines for his students!
One day you will be one of us! Ranting about the Stormlight Archive every other video XD
I mean.. he IS a literature professor.. and probably has done that.
Something I love about Sebarial is how when SPOILERS
Szeth attacked at the end, Sebarial in the background just took charge of a collapsing, decapitated army while Kaladin was being badass, and avoided the whole thing becoming a rout. He's got some real chops.
Yeah, I love Sebarial and Palona. Their relationship is one of the only believable romantic relationship (to me, personally) Sanderson has written. It's not love at first sight, an arranged marriage that magically works with a happily ever after or grown "adults" acting like awkward middle schoolers. Sebarial and Palona are what they are, nothing more, opposites and somehow perfect for each other.
Elend and Vin were a nice couple in my opinion, but I can see where you are coming from with the rest
I LOVED Sebarial and Palona! They’re just an amazing intelligent couple. And I don’t believe he was a coward. After all, he was one of the two brightlords who dared to march and fight against the voidbringers with Dalinar, when the rest of the princes stayed behind. I just see him as strategic and most definitely ambitious. If it doesn’t benefit him he’s not gonna get involved. And I love his “I don’t give a damn” attitude when it comes to the opinions of society and the other High Princes. He was there to piss the hell out of everybody and I really appreciated the fact that everyone underestimated him because he wanted it that way, not because he didn’t know what he was doing. He’s brilliant and I also like his “I don’t care, but I actually do deep inside” way, you know, he likes to portray this uncaring type of character but you can actually see he does care for Palona and for his staff and his people. He is a brilliant character!
3 brighlords*. sorry didn't want to be that guy, but it was Adalar, Roion, and Saberial. other than that, I agree with everything you said!
@@albertpinestein9977 4, Dalinar is a brightlord
@@MalcontentFlower she said with dalinar. Therefore excluding him automatically from the count
Honestly I totally agree with you; Sebarial is the best. He is so absurdly lazy but he's also smart and gets stuff done. Very funny and very relatable!
Sebarial is mood. I don't know what that means, but it felt like the right thing to say.
he is mood
I love that moment when Dalinar told him Roion died.. and he was just
"😟 So its true, Who am i gonna make fun now then"
Poor Turi
Sebarial is basically what I want to be when I’m old
Palona and sebarial i just love, everytime the interact is amazing especially the end of WoR
Though I wouldn’t agree that palona runs the war camp, she runs his house and his household, he runs the warcamp, he does the big picture and she makes sure they last till the big picture can be fulfilled
So she was his logistics?
@@heijimikata7181 He ran a lot of the logistics of the warcamp. She made sure the house-staff were doing what they needed, that a dozen little things got done. She was effectively a chief of staff for anything not relating to the business or war side of things - though the house ledgers were in disarray.
I don't know many cowards that would go out into an OPEN BATTLEFIELD WITH NOT 1 BUT 2 HURRICANES CLASHING INTO SAID BATTLEFIELD and what are him and his woman doing you ask?! Drinking God damned wine and reading BOOKS. If that isn't a BAMF I don't know what is. He had faith in Dalinar and Shallan. He became one of my favorite characters in this series. We need a Sabariel and Lift spinoff "big bang theory" style sitcom with those two ahaha.
Sebariel orders two full meals every time, and Lyft has to guess which one he was actually going to eat
Sebarial is pure "work smarter not harder" 👌
MCT, you are the Sebarial of booktube. You know what you are and you're not pretentious about it. It's clear that you take time with your videos, but you're not here to game the YT algorithm or put on a tweed vest and glasses and lecture us all... You are here to make spicy meme videos that go from insightful to shitpost and back in a matter of seconds. *Chef's kiss* to you my friend
This is one of the nicest comments i've seen yet, haha. Thanks nathan. being compared to Sebarial ranks among the highest honors of my life
Finally, someone talking about the important people
Sebarial is Magic Johnson, the only likable billionaire
Hahaha, unexpected parallel but i love it
I have no idea what you're talking about, but it's fascinating!
XD that makes me happy to hear! Thank you
Honestly, I see you eventually blowing up! Great video!!
That is so nice! Thank you!
Is that a threat? q:
@@etheraelespeon1986that made me snort. great forced reinterpretation
i feel like sebarial is secretly a joe abercrombie character. on the surface he’s pretty irreverent and almost a bit goofy, but that sets your expectations of him low and he is a bit of a master at manipulating low expectations to his benefit.
The scene in Radiance when the war going to shit and everyone is making a break for the gate while Sebarial and Polona are just there chilling like "yeah we already saw to it, now watch us not give a shit"
My Halloween has already started out amazing due to this video! 😂
Hahaha that is awesome and makes me so happy! Thank you!!
Just got to Sebarial in the graphic audio audio book, and I fucking LOVE HIM. He is such a sassy bastard not afraid to speak his mind, and Palona fits him PERFECTLY. They are quickly becoming my favorites in Words of Radiance.
Sebarials WWE entrance theme is "here comes the money" and he owns every second of his walk to the ring before talking a load of shit about his opponents before leaving the ring because no way in hell is he actually gonna fight anyone. xD
Hes the definition of: *Vibing*
Sebarial is Chaotic Good disguising himself as chaotic evil.
I need to come back to this when I finish WoR (halfway through!)
Can't wait to hear what you think about the book!
I love serbarial.
His voice actor in the GA is perfect as well.
Sebarial a real sigma male
The last point about how great of a character Sebarial is sounded like Terry Goodkind talking about himself.
I think this video helps explains why he's so weirdly likable. In a book that has such high stakes for everyone and so many damn mysteries that make me anxious for literally every character he's a known quantity. Like, spoiler for Rhythm of War - a God fucking dies and his power is taken over by a murderous old utilitarian with what seems like a lot of bad ideas. It's not great. And there's the whole end of the world and whatnot, I have no idea how everyone isn't freaking out all the time. With all that shit greed and hedonism are like old friends.
Sebarials cool, I feel like there’s a philosophy that really ties with him but I can’t remember which...
Sebarial, Seberiel, SIBERIAN.
You name it.......
Shane co radio ad homies are loving it
Haven't read the book. But the way you describe this character makes me feel like they're a very wholesome billionaire.
Sebarial get's the bullet too.
(Unless they peacefully give up being a billionaire, which I feel they would do)
Wtf is wrong with people…
@@nathanhargenrader645 a lot
For a minute I got sebarial and sadeus confused and was VERY puzzled by the title/tumbnail.
Serbarial strikes me as a Lawful Good, who acts like a True Nuetral, much like how Breeze pretends to be Lawful Neutral while actually being Chaotic Good.
I jump of my seat when Sebarial appear to help
ayo that shane co meme hit me so hard lmfao. also, does that mean he lives in AZ?
shane co is omnipresent, unchanging. it exists in every town, in every country in the world. we cannot escape it
So there's an unknown shard. It has to be the shard of chill, and sebarial is the holder. No word of a lie, the guy literally does not care about the highstorm. He has to have some kind of power
Im here just watching a video of fucking Sebarial, and you bring up the god damn Shane Co.
(On Scottsdale Road and Acoma, One mile south of Bell Road)
SHANE CO. SEES ALL
I thought this was about Sabriel (Garth Nix) at first and got really confused. I gotta get better glasses.
I feel like Sebarial... being the person who watched the 4000th view just now.
cheers
Based.
Man the carry thing 👍
He's us
So many people complain about billionaires, but I'm just here thinking, "Gee, I might get to go to space cause of that guy."
Stop it you aren’t allowed to not want to kill them and steal their money… remember they don’t add anything to society - the people using all the things they added to society to post this video and then the comments below it.
The line of thinking that all rich people are bad is just the smoothest brain thing. Reads a book about realizing prejudices are bad then makes a video where he basically regurgitates the prejudices that the book says are bad unironically.
We found the richy
*Plotwist:* Sebarial is the one who will find out Shallan's last truth.
