Shaq vs Penn, from Shaq Vs S02E02. A few users pointed out James Randi was in the audience, but I didn't find him until smashballbrawler posted the time of 8:15 . Awesome!
@@sportel4644 They can force you any card they want from any part of the deck. That's the beauty of it. You think you have a choice, but they made that choice for you.
+Ian Fain They have a trick where they get one of those glass boxes with fans on the bottom that makes money go flying all over the place when turned on. Rather than putting money in it they use playing cards. First they force the Queen of Hearts, then Teller gets in the box as Penn explains that Teller is going to grab the spectator's card out of the air. They turn the fans on, cover up the box and when they uncover it, it's revealed that it's now an assistant inside the box in a queen of hearts costume, while Penn claims that it's Teller himself that has transformed into the queen of hearts.
Its obvious to make calls.look up old documentarys of Penn and teller you will see and hear them both talk.its just something that they came up with to add mystery to there act.lol
3 of clubs is definitely Penn's favorite card to force, its a nod to their fans. their whole act is about the audience kind of knowing how the trick is done yet still being impressed.
+Jack Curran any time Penn and Teller force a card they use the 3 of clubs, it is actually in reference to the 3 clubs used by Jugglers, as Penn was originally a professional juggler.
Whoa I had no clue he was that old I never bothered to look up his age. He always looked around 45-50 and just found out hes currently 75. That's wild.
Despite not really having the presence for showbiz, Shaq is pretty funny. The covering Penn's face and when he was talking about not being allowed to do magic again were both top notch.
***** Have you watched the history/biography about him (Randi) called "An Honest Liar"? It's on Netflix currently (at least in Canada, I can't speak for certain if it's on the USA or UK one) But if you haven't seen it, I definitely recommend you put on your "Must Watch" movie list.
+Marissa Hammer seeing randi laughing in the audience was awesome, i love that man so much. and yes, 'an honest liar' is on netflix in the US, and it is wonderful, heart-breaking, and then wonderful again; an absolutely fantastic documentary.
Kevin Hunton last like 4 years of his career he averaged like 75% from the free throw line. If he shot like that his whole career he would be the all time scoring champion by a long shot, then again people wouldnt have sent him to the line half as much.
Daniel Wagner pffff that'd just irritate him, and i'd probably break my foot. By all means though you go right ahead and kick Shaq in the balls. Ill collect as many pieces as i can to give you a decent burial
Naw he's 6'5. Shaq was 6'11 predraft height, which looks about right to me. Basketball players use shoes, rounding, and then a little extra exageration
My mom is a dentist and one of her former assistents, her husband stole Shaq's car (like many years ago), then he turned himself in after a while, served the jail time and now does our gardening.
+HarbingerOfWarX No. You can see Penn hand the deck to Shaq and Penn's hands are empty. The Jedi's are in the house and Penn gets the card in a way very similar to their cell phone trick.
***** i am 6,5 and i can tell you beyond 6,0 you don't want that, 6,0 is ok. higher than that you feel like 8 foot to everyone around except another 6,0 person
Until you see Shaq in person you really cannot get a real sense of his size. I had tickets on the floor at a Pacer/Laker game back in the day and he literally dripped sweat on my shoes. He is a BEAST of a human specimen.
The card Shaq chose was a forced card, and yeah the card is already on the ball. Super easy trick compared to the complicated choreography for Blast off lol.
Liftoff of love was a really complicated trick to expect a beginner to learn in a day or so. The fact that Penn makes it look so easy is awesome though
Shaq did pretty decent with that trick despite the fail at the end. As long as Shaq tries its okay. Magic tricks take a few minutes to learn its the practicing of the execution that makes it a little tricky.
Man, I caught myself open-jaw trying to listen everytime Teller opened his mouth. I was so convinced he was gonna talk since he teams up with Shaq for this one. Oh man, what a personality Teller has, at least 10 times his height. Also, good to see that johnny Thompson holds up so great, another brilliant individual!
Gives you a good idea of how big Shaq really is when he makes Penn look normal in size
Hey, Roland
+leftyfourguns yeah man shaq is over 7ft and penn is 6'6
+Adithya Gadiraju I'm pretty sure Teller is significantly shorter than 6'6".
A.J. Steinman ahahah my bad i meant penn.
Teller looks like a midget next to them and he's like 5'8".
you have already lost if you "pick" the 3 of clubs with penn
I think that's the point XD
oh yeah, you should know that card :D
Yep.
Card trick with Penn Jilette + get the Three of Clubs = “You are already dead.”
3 of clubs and a select few other cards like 7 of harts are common cards for some reason wonder why?
Shaq: *draws 3 of clubs*
Pen: I'm about to end this man's whole career
One of the few people Penn actually looks up to.
GRUJ This comment is too underrated!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA
I agree, someone give this person an award.
Literally
Took me longer than I would like to admit.
And Shaq looks up to Yao Ming, hard to process that
Penn's trick should have been to get Shaq to make a freethrow.
Josh G haha
Josh G w
Josh G lol

As soon as you see that Shaq has the three of clubs...... You know Penn forced it. He always picks the 3 of clubs.
Robert Zeurunkl no s**t haha
U so daYm right!
That was a particularly good card force
Whenever the magician asks you to take the top card from a cut deck really
@@sportel4644
They can force you any card they want from any part of the deck. That's the beauty of it.
You think you have a choice, but they made that choice for you.
Out of curiosity, does anyone else have a hard time keeping a straight face when ever the 3 of Clubs shows up?
Pretty sure it's their running gag on card forces
+Ian Fain With the exception of their queen of hearts gag.
axelasdf I've never heard anything about the Qh force before... what's the story?
+Ian Fain They have a trick where they get one of those glass boxes with fans on the bottom that makes money go flying all over the place when turned on. ReDrUmHD s
I've seen Blast Off so many times by now, Teller's speed is always so impressive
teller is amazing. tho nowerdays they use leg props so he hasnt to be too acrobatic anymore :D
Had to disappoint the crowd when they said "tomorrow night".
Was thinking the same lol
+Matt Williams
Good way to make sure they came back though.
+Clive Bindley what you think there are still tickets for Penn and Teller the night before a show? They are fully booked months in advance.
Glad you told me, I'll sleep better for knowing that.
Thanks awfully.
I was in Vegas last year and bought tickets on the day, place was 80 percent full
Perfectly normal deck of cards “no trap doors” went right over Shaqs head
... and that's a high bar.
@@evilliger burned
Shaq may be an amazing athlete, but as usual when he tries showbiz, he has the stage presence and pizzazz of a stoned sea matinee.
lmao
+Boob Wiley i like your shaqtical thinking
+Sully Bongish did you mean manatee?
+Sully Bongish yeah it's called unintentional deadpan
+Sully Bongish be fair penn and teller are veterans
While you watch this just remember...
Teller is 5'9", average height for an American male.
I'm not sure if he is 5'9''
What magic is Shaq gonna do? Hit two free throws in a row? Oooooooh! Nah I love Shaq.
LMAO
+CowLunch A+ gold star comment!
lOl W
Oh my god he should've of done that, automatic w.
wow thats a win xD
I think the real question we aren't asking here is why does Teller have a phone?
Its obvious to make calls.look up old documentarys of Penn and teller you will see and hear them both talk.its just something that they came up with to add mystery to there act.lol
Davy Desykes Obviously you don't get the joke...
Lone Star VII Teller can speak. He just doesn't speak as part of his act with Penn.
carultch sarcasm...
Lone Star VII I hear phones can do some pretty fancy voiceless communications these days. I've heard kids reference "pexting" or something...
Wouldn't be a Penn and Teller card trick without a 3 of clubs...
8:15 Nice to see James Randi, a fellow magician and friend of Penn and Teller, in attendance. R.I.P.
That WAS him! I was wondering if that was James Randi!
3 of clubs is definitely Penn's favorite card to force, its a nod to their fans. their whole act is about the audience kind of knowing how the trick is done yet still being impressed.
The card is ALWAYS three of clubs.
Not always, but most of the time
+Jack Curran any time Penn and Teller force a card they use the 3 of clubs, it is actually in reference to the 3 clubs used by Jugglers, as Penn was originally a professional juggler.
Actually I've read in a few places that they chose it because it can easily be seen on camera. Although it could be a combination of the two.
I was about to type the same thing!
isn't it also because they have their own gravestone with the 3 clubs in California
When you are with Penn or Teller and you "choose" three of clubs, you know that it is forced, it's like their trademark. :-D
Yeahhh
Wow. Teller even at that age (around 60 here, I think) still moving fast underneath that stage. What a legend.
Shaq is smarter than he lets on. First thing he did was naturally make up a sort of mnemonic for the routine..
Jimmy C He has a PhD
And then he forgot how to stack three boxes.
@@Trillyana In education
@@flintbrenick 3 boxes with pictures :DDDDDDDDD
Lol that’s cause he’s a dumbass who needs a song to stack a box or two
Can we take a moment to talk about how quick and athletic Teller is underneath the liftoff set up
This was in 2010, so he was about 62 years old!
'Shaq-tical" is the only thing i took away from this
That's "The Amazing Randi" at 8:15! I can't believe I didn't notice that until just now!
Good eye :]

yep. that's Randi and his husband Davey. Penn is a Jedi with that trick.
I just saw that!! I hope the Amazing Randi rests in peace he was a magical man
When I took a picture with teller, I asked him about shaq & teller, he said "he's very strong, not a magician. He's gonna break my neck!"
Shaq making a free-thro that's a magic trick on its own
Well a magic trick that works more than half the time is pretty good.
***** Not if you're cutting someone in half...
Penn gives card to shaq and tells him to show the audience.
*Cut to Shaq's commentary*
Shaq: Penn gave me a card and told me to show the audience.
I hate this kind of editing
I would be terrified to beat shaq at anything. He could eat you if he's displeased. What exactly could you do to stop him? Nothing thats what.
Drew Russell challenge him to a free throw contest? lol
Kevin Hunton
last like 4 years of his career he averaged like 75% from the free throw line. If he shot like that his whole career he would be the all time scoring champion by a long shot, then again people wouldnt have sent him to the line half as much.
It's all planned out

Daniel Wagner
pffff that'd just irritate him, and i'd probably break my foot. By all means though you go right ahead and kick Shaq in the balls. Ill collect as many pieces as i can to give you a decent burial
He makes Penn look small. Penn is 6' 6"
Robert Pershing Wadlow 02/22/1918-07/15/1940.... 8 ft 11.1 in tall. THAT dude was huge! Shaq is 7 ft 1 in. Crazy to think about.
armystrong6920 Right? It's crazy.
Penis 6”6 can’t unread
That's baby shit holmes I'm 9 feet 11 inches tall
Naw he's 6'5. Shaq was 6'11 predraft height, which looks about right to me. Basketball players use shoes, rounding, and then a little extra exageration
shaq should have made a free throw for his magic trick. would have been unbelievable
penn sure loves his 3 of clubs
Was that Randi in the audience? For his age that guy still gets around a good bit.
Yes it was and he doesn't seem to age.now that's magic.
thenekom 11:36 - there's a guy who looks as if he is Teller's father in the audience.
+Davy Desykes
Uh... to be fair... when you look 100 you tend to be able to maintain that look pretty consistently from there on in.
Teller was break dancing under there lmaooo
Can we talk about how Teller was like 60 when this happened and he's still sliding through that trick with the agility of a fricking cat :3 wow
My mom is a dentist and one of her former assistents, her husband stole Shaq's car (like many years ago), then he turned himself in after a while, served the jail time and now does our gardening.
Of course Shaq knows some magic. He learned it when he played in Orlando.
Leave it to Shaq to not know that a torso goes on top of legs...
11:03 You can see him palming the car against the ball with his left hand.
I was about to comment that
Burgundy Blues jhgfds
+Burgundy Blues Hey, yeah! You can also see the card on the ball after the second bounce.
+Burgundy Blues I think he had the card in his hand the whole time. That's the advantage of his large hands.
+HarbingerOfWarX
No. You can see Penn hand the deck to Shaq and Penn's hands are empty. The Jedi's are in the house and Penn gets the card in a way very similar to their cell phone trick.
"I've got to catch a regular flight home."
I feel so sorry for him.
I love when Johnny was like "that's my business" 😂😂😂
Shaq should be great at Magic, since he was on the team!
I threw up over your joke
Please...just stop
And don't forget that he was a Genie.
Teller's face when Shaq chose him was just like, 'Oh hell no! Penn, don't let them take me!'
"I gotta catch a regular flight home"
No bro, you won't fit into one.
He always forces 3 of clubs XD
Can I just say how dam slick teller was sliding around in the box 😂😂 looked very fun
Lol when Penn said “Yeah, how about tomorrow night?” That audience
was probably disappointed
Shaq made up a song to help him remember the routine...even though the routine COMES WITH A SONG
*door opens* "its shaq, i wanna learn some magic" *DOOR SLAMS* "No" XDDDD
How doesn't Penn look short standing next to Shaq O.o That's so rear! Penn is HUGE
***** &foot 7 actually =) At least he said so himself
***** i am 6,5 and i can tell you beyond 6,0 you don't want that, 6,0 is ok. higher than that you feel like 8 foot to everyone around except another 6,0 person
Many people think Teller is very short when he is actualy avarage height. He is only small in comparison to Penn
jsx17 Yeah. I'm 6'3" and I tower over most of my friends and my mother. My older brother and my dad are both 6'2", though. XD
Zver Zverot Yeah...but Penn is like just half an inch shorter than Lebron... I mean ...Penn is really big on average but Shaq is huge
Im rofling knowing why they didnt do the hand coming out of the box during blastoff. Whould you imagine Teller's hand turning black for a second?
That was great improv by Teller to cover up Shaq’s mistake
Until you see Shaq in person you really cannot get a real sense of his size. I had tickets on the floor at a Pacer/Laker game back in the day and he literally dripped sweat on my shoes. He is a BEAST of a human specimen.
you ok, sounds like you are getting aroused or something?
Wow, Teller is surprisingly spry!
10 years ago and the quality is so good
lol At Shaq trying to steal Teller away from Penn. XD
That's just a simple card force... I was really hoping for Penn to pull something crazy out.
Shaq made Penn look like Teller xDDD
And Yao Ming makes Shaq look like Teller.
a REAL magic trick would be to make shaq make a freethrow
+aTROLLwithBlades shots fired
Shaq literally made penn disappear from his own act right before his own eyes ....that’s the real magic
This is amazing, he basically add force, sleight of hand and practiced them with a basketball. What a great presentation!
"Of course. Everyone does magic. It's easy."
Lol
If you see with 0.25 speed, you can see the card under his hand at 11:03!
Except that life doesn't happen at .25 speed. If you slow down any act you can see how it's done.
+jeremiah h I saw it without being slowed down
The card Shaq chose was a forced card, and yeah the card is already on the ball. Super easy trick compared to the complicated choreography for Blast off lol.
you can see it right before the third bounce too.
im gonna start being shaqtical in my thinking
2:48 "Shaqtical" in my planning! What an excellent word! Thanks Dr. O'Neal.
"Traitor"... Lol, I love how he calls the guy who doesn't talk a traitor.
Shaqtical is about the coolest thing ever.
This is the first time Penn looked short standing next to someone
when you see that three of clubs you know that the plan has already begun.
Liftoff of love was a really complicated trick to expect a beginner to learn in a day or so. The fact that Penn makes it look so easy is awesome though
RIP JHONNY THOMPSON ABSOLUTE LEGENDARY GENIUS
Hey look, it's the 3 of clubs again :D
+CriticalHit149 its a card nobody ever thinks of
Ironically shaq played for Orlando magic
When you see the 3 of clubs, you know it's a forced card.
"I gotta catch a regular flight home" 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣 He speaks as if it were a car he has to drive to go down the road.😂 #RichPeopleProblems
"Everything about Vegas has always been magic." He said in a in a dull nonchalant voice.
Not many people make Penn look small but man, Shaq makes literally everyone look like a child 😂
Apart from Yao Ming.
Shaq did pretty decent with that trick despite the fail at the end. As long as Shaq tries its okay. Magic tricks take a few minutes to learn its the practicing of the execution that makes it a little tricky.
Though I will admit, that fail was perhaps the FUNNIEST part of the routine! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Always 3 of clubs. Obvious card force is obvious.
3:28 love the way teller laughs.
"welcome to the first and only, annual Shaq and Teller show."
shaq just needs to make a free throw on stage and it will be magic ^^
Penn is 2m tall( 6ft. 7in.). How tall is Shaq??
7"2 I believe
Juan Ruiz God damn!! 2.2 m tall.
+Traian Vlad penn is 199 cm high. Very close to 2 meters though.
he 7'1 just google it
7:38 how many seats did she have to purchase?!

lol, shaq is so genuine and acts from the soul that u have to love him.
OMG, how tall is this Shaq guy? How could he possibly be taller than Penn?
bruh Shaq is like over 7ft. he was the giant in nba
"This Shaq guy" you 'be never heard of Shaq?!?
***** Heard of yes, never met or known well in terms of his vital statistics.
I don't watch basketball much.
bruh i thought penn was a big guy but damn shaq
JAMES RANDY!
Holy shit seeing how much taller Shaq is than Penn is even crazier when you consider that penn is 6'7"
I hadn't heard of Shaq before. P&T binge brought me here
Remember if you ever see the 3 of clubs in a Penn and Teller trick it was forced.
Ironically Shaq played on the Orlando Magic, yet claims to know nothing about magic.
did he really say "Shaqtical"?....
Man, I caught myself open-jaw trying to listen everytime Teller opened his mouth.
I was so convinced he was gonna talk since he teams up with Shaq for this one.
Oh man, what a personality Teller has, at least 10 times his height.

3:29 I like Tellers facial impression so much :D
He talks like MadTv Shaq
Penn and Teller may be some of the best musicians, but Shaq is a genie, Shazam!
fernandoc castillo Lol. oops I meant magicians.
fernandoc castillo Penn is also a musician. I don't know about Teller.
carultch Teller plays piano, so I guess you could call him a musician also.
carultch Yup, he plays bass
eroshiyda Of course he is, the piano is a percussive instrument
Shaq's trick is actually an olddddd Penn and Teller trick they've been doing for years.
So i take it you didn't watch the beginning of the video?
Has anyone seen the episode called "Shaq tries to complete a sentence with a bit of energy."
When the person “selects” the 3 of clubs, you know that it was a force by Penn and Teller. They always use the 3 of clubs.
