I got the sonata. I love it with the features it has. One mistake car connections made was the price on Camry to match sonata features are closer to 43/45 not 39. They have a base xse but there is a package you have to get similar features the sonata offers. The warranty I never have an issue with Hyundai honoring it. But with the bluelink for life was a major selling point for me.

I think Hyundai has significantly stepped up their game. I've owned a 15 Pilot, 98 Camry and my mom has owned multiple civics and CRVs. Her last CRV had major transmission issues. My first Hyundai was a 22 Palisade and loved it. Switched it out for a 24 Sonata Hybrid since the kids were starting to leave the house and not really needing an SUV anymore. We got my oldest a new Elantra and he loves it. Way more "hip" than the other comparable models. Time will just tell how reliable Hyundai has really become. Knock on wood...zero issues with the 3 we currently own.

No hybrid Sonata for Canada - very odd. They said the Elantra has almost identical space UP FRONT compared to the Accord; and here the Elantra "sizing" is more popular than the Sonata - and I guess the true AWD in the base Sonata (which gets a bunch more features here - leather vented memory seats and so on) is more the client they are using that model for. It is true as Canadians have tended to buy one size smaller for comparable profiles. Interestingly - worth an "I wonder" - the K5 and the Forte were retired here with apparently the K4 replacing BOTH ... humm.

Hyundai is just playing with fire going up against Japanese cars with their similar price range and with their Genesis. They need to be 4-5k cheaper than their rivals for really anyone to really consider their vehicles. They are just not as reliable and with luxury segments in the same price range there's no way you'd choose this over a BMW, Mercedes, Lexus etc. I honestly don't even know how they're still in business. I guess if you're leasing it short term it doesn't really matter, but keeping it long term ....

However, I find the fact that the 9th gen is more like a heavy refresh than an all new gen, yet you claim it’s a mess. And I mean, kind of unfair to compare a V6 to a hybrid. Compare hybrid to hybrid and to me, the 9th gen is an improvement overall. Looks are subjective and I was opposed to it at first but it’s grown on me and I don’t hate it anymore (except for the Honda Accord looking taillights).
