  • Gratiot road on Detroit's East Side extends from downtown all the way until 8 mile and beyond. But but after 8 miles it's no longer Detroit. This video is taken from Gratiot and 94 Making my way towards 8 mile going up-and-down the side streets off Gratiot in some of the most vacant run down rough abandoned neighborhood in the entire city of Detroit. It's truly sad what has happened to the city and most of its houses the last ten to twenty years after 2008 crippled the people and the auto industry...

Thank you, by yours would have been way better because that was before they started rapidly tearing down all the houses that occurred in 2013.Where they really started going crazy terroring them down.So yours would have shown the worst of the worst

When People move in they need to LOOK AFTER THEIR PROPERTIES AND GARDENS. Areas/Communities are all about the people that live in them. It doesn't take huge amounts of money to have civic pride. And pride in your own back yard.

But also when the city government only maintain certain areas of the city in acts like other areas don't exist. It makes it a lot harder to keep up all the areas. Also, because they only care about areas that are bringing in money, which is downtown and directly surrounding areas. These neighborhoods they want to pretend don't exist and it's sad

Why isn't that apartment building still intact? We have people needing a place to live. If everyone would take care of their property, we would have fantastic neighborhoods with property value worth selling and purchasing. Take care of your home and the property it sits on. Make it BETTER than when you purchased it. WE DID! It's YOUR money.

Because the city only takes care of places that bring in money like downtown and surrounding areas in these type of neighborhoods, they neglect and sweep under a rug which is completely sad and shouldn't be that way. At all, all neighborhoods deserve equal funding and effort.

Age has nothing to do with it. Many cities have older homes and are much better kept. Go across the river to Windsor, or up to Sarnia, Ontario. You will not see a mess there, like Detroit has become.

I've done corktown, but these areas still need to be shown too. Because these are still part of Detroit and there's still good people living in these areas. It's not their fault. The city neglects in underfunds. The areas like this because they're only worried about downtown and surrounding areas because those areas bring in money in these areas don't. These people deserve the same funding and treatment as all the other areas in detroit
