Why can't we in U.S.A. get this delicious and fresh food? Our Macdonalds are seriously lacking. This building filled with art and delicious pastries is so amazing.
There are strict regulations on food in Italy and in Europe in general, making food that is regularly sold in USA not sellable here. So for instance French fries and burgers are different. This Mc restaurant is the biggest in Italy: all other Mc offer less food). Mc is not a bakery so those treats are fast food (they have been prepared and frozen somewhere else) Doughnuts are extremely rare in our bakeries, so this gives us American-Simpsons’ vibes, something different from what we are used to see, but still classified as not good for your health, unlike our brioche for instance. Fast food is always bad, even if it’s here in Italy, even if our regulations are stricter.
It's simply bc the European Union forbids to sell to it's citizens the edible garbage that is s allowed by the USA government . I went to McDonald's Spain and their McCafe are basically a gourmet bakerie with an espresso coffee bar. Their burgers taste much better too.

In The USA , there are restrictions and guidelines to foods that are high in fats ,sugars ,and salts.So it does effect the taste of foods. And, the restrictions will get worse for the USA. Their reasoning is to help American fight the war on obesity.
Best thing i ever ate at McDonalds was a road-trip stop from Paris, random Mcdonalds in the middle of nowhere in Germany. I ate the McCrispy Homestyle, they do have a McCrispy in the US but if you look at photos it’s a completely different sandwich. The McCafe inside looked so much more decent than anything else you’d ever see in the US locations.
