@@glenchapman3899 All that I remember, it was a holiday Monday, Larry’s try - although I thought it was an intercept, and we lost but I thought we were thrashed. I was only 9 so I was probably sliding down the back of the hill or involved in a kids game of football down the back and less interested in watching the game.
My dad once went to a Wests versus Balmain match. But that was in 1972. He said it had interest because the lead see-saw-ed a bit, but that the better side on that day won it, that being Balmain. Total history in relation to this, but anyway.
True. But more immediately than that, 4 of those Balmain players would all be at the Canberra Raiders in 1983. McMahon, Knight, Spears, and Grant. Almost a feeder club situation but almost certainly not.
Well remember this was a local derby and both packs had always tried to put a beat down on each other since rugby league started... Kind of a cat and dog sort of thing. Interestingly even with all that going on, both clubs had a lot of respect for each other.
This is Gold 🎉..quality best footy .
Thanks for the upload. I was at this game and it was a better game than I remembered.
Yeah I was there as well. I dont really have any real memories either way about the game lol

Great footy in those days. It's embarrassing to watch these days.
The infamous Les Mara
So many cheap shots and high tackles ignored. I don't think west would have any players left on the field if this was played under current rules.

What a load of boring shit, aren't you smart enough to say something Original ?
