It seems as though the commentators didn't want to menation that during the lead up to Slater's try, there was a hand in the tackle which dislodged the ball from Matalino and that Bird was over exaggerating the Smith high tackle, which help them advance down the field. Yet, they dismiss Bird deliberately tackling Smith without the ball and basically reduce the Kiwis victory to one man's brilliance in the final minutes of the game, but moreover good luck. This is why league will never grow to its full potential. And all this talk of Origin experience, where was that during the course of this game? That experience should had equated to an Aussie 50 point win by the sounds of things.
Australia always smash everyone, but in order for us to grow the game of rugby league we need to grow the game internationally. Not saying to not let australia win but to have the refs not from the same nation that is playing. As in example , for this game we should've had like a Tongan, Samoan, or a England ref
@@rewster7 Nah , they just don't go look for them brotha . Small minded just like the NRL's committee. Kind of the result of why rugby union is bigger.
Yip, I remember screaming the house down for this final haha what a game, what an era for the Kiwis only 2 years after we won the 2008 world cup 🖤🤍
The Dragons have scored 😂 gotta love rabs 😂 what a classic game
I miss the 4 Nations. Australia, New Zealand, England and PNG or France.
They should continue playing four nations, league lack on international games
The second try was set by a Blues player..Greg Bird..Maroons down.. 1:09:14
If this game was in 2024 there would have been 5 sin bins and a send off
I miss 4 nations australia would be smashing now
1:30:58 - massive forward pass?
