This feature doesn't work for us (we have the Pro plan) in a browser (we use Chrome) since there's no QR code option (no option for "connect mobile cam"), and the iPhone doesn't appear in the device list. On the Mac app, it does appear in the device list, so it works, but only for 1080p and not 4K. Not sure if any of the other commenters actually tried this feature before commenting.

the reason you are seeing it come up in the beta mac app has nothing to do with riverside - it's the native continuity cam feature - hence why it's not 4K

@@Riversidefm Yes, we already filled out that form, but we still don't have access. Unless the feature is extremely buggy, why not roll it out to more people who have already submitted the form?

I’ve been using continuity camera to use phone as webcam and connecting it using the desktop version of Riverside. The quality of our video shot way way up.
Continuity Camera works well too, but this will be iPhone + Android + Window + Mac, any combination, and you can record 4K video rather than just 1080p!

Same here, I only get HD quality - but the weird thing is, that I use the back camera and still only get HD... (settings on the phone for video is 4k)
oops, you have to enable the 4k recording in your riverside settings - now its working!

Nice tool indeed! But what is the main advantage over using the riverside app to record? I think that this might be useful in order to frame your shot and use external microphones - things that are a bit difficult when recording with the app and the rear camera
Exactly those reasons, using the rear camera, connecting mics and audio interfaces to a computer rather than the mobile device, and from a computer you also have the ability to screen share and play media board clips.
Great feature, could you make recommendations regarding a couple of differnt clips for the iphone to plug it above the screen?

Love this. When I am connected and in my Studio, I have an overlay with a camera icon that says "Ready to record in HD on mobile" and then a new line thta says "Others can see you clearly." The overlay remains when I hit record. How to I get rid of that overlay so I can see myself clearly?
Are you seeing that when joining as a guest? And when using your iPhone as a webcam, or recording with the Riverside app on mobile directly?

You don't have to set anything on your phone specifically! Do be sure your studio is set to record in 4K though.

Great feature, thank you guys! I have a question, please. When I use my iPhone as a camera (on top of my monitor) and use the script or teleprompter, my sight is clearly on the scrip and not on the camera. Please let me know if there are any videos or recommendations on how to record solo videos or podcast episodes using the teleprompter and still be looking at the audience. Thank you so much!

Hi there! Is it necessary for the guest to be in the Mobile as well? I mean the host is recording from the mobile and the guest will be on his/her Desktop. Is that possible?
Guests don't need to be on mobile, they can simply use their Desktop!

Steven I have a question. Let’s say I want to host a podcast that has a frequent guest, and then at times add a third guest to the podcast that is a one time guest.
Would I have the ability to capture all three people at once, and also would the recording tine of all three of the speakers be counted as just the length of the podcast, or would it be the length of all three combined speakers?
You can record up to 8 people in a studio at the same time, so yes! And your recording time is not tripled, even with multiple guests. The total recording time, regardless of people, is what counts.

I would love to be able to utilize this function without having to access my desktop. so for some reason, the Internet is not working on my laptop. so I have no way of utilizing the platform on the mobile side or on the desktop side 😮 please help I hope this makes sense.
If you don't have internet on any device, unfortunately you won't be able to use Riverside either.

Hey everyone! 🎙 Today I had the pleasure of recording a podcast with a remote guest, but ran into a bit of a tech snag. Despite having great audio and video from my end using my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra as the camera source and the Shure MV 7+ with a Zoom Podtrak P4 setup, the video and audio weren't in sync. 😕 I've done two previous remote podcasts using a webcam without any sync issues, so I'm wondering if it's because I switched to using my smartphone for the camera this time around?
I've reached out to Riverside for a solution since their platform didn't seem to have an answer. It's especially frustrating because now I can't use the video for this podcast, which makes the Riverside platform feel obsolete for my needs. Going back to using a 720 webcam just to ensure audio sync for future episodes isn't an ideal solution either.
Has anyone else encountered this problem? I could really use some advice or insights! Thanks in advance!
Hey Lauren! Sorry that happened to you. First off, did you enter a live chat support request in your dashboard and ask them to reprocess the files? Sometimes that can help. And were you using the Galaxy S23 in our mobile cam feature mode or some other utility? Or using the Riverside app on the S23 by itself? We'll try to help if we can!
@@Riversidefm I was using the mobile cam feature mode, using the QR code from laptop to connect as a camera. Also, the cloud recording the audio and video synced. I reached out to support and they downloaded a high qauilty version of that recording, but told me they would not keep doing that for me so to go back to using a external webcam, which as you know, the quailty can't compare. It's unfortunate because I signed up for Riverside for this feature. Are you telling me that after every recording if I reach out to support they will reprocess the files?

@@Riversidefm i don´t see the feature(my smartphone) in my studio. only the build in webcam and another webcam. not the smartphone. (the app on the phone is downloaded) and i already sent a request. It's annoying that I can't finally get started because of this.

Exactly...such a fake promotion. I have been asking riverside to install that option and asking them since months. All they say is its rolling out but never happened...such a waste of money and these folks are giving false adverts
