It has been said that all pianists by heart envy organists because the organ can play sustained notes from now until the sun burns out, and all organists envy pianists because of the piano’s capacity to make percussive transient notes. I believe there’s an element of envy like this between loudspeaker and headphone producers and users. Each type has its advantages and disadvantages. For me loudspeakers no matter how expensive will always be hampered by the listening room and cross hearing from left to right channel. Headphones are in theory only limited by the difficulty of presenting a sound image stable well outside of the head, and even this can with intelligent trickery be reduced. If one can mentally overcome this weakness, then only the sky is the limit with headphones. Greetings from Denmark
This is a cool mix. Haven't heard an Abyss but appreciate the quality. Sr007mk2 is my lottery headphone but I'm happy enough with an hd600, lcd2c, and L300ltd for their different characters
It's true that as you sample more a little up the ladder, you get to know better what works for you and what doesn't. You even find your really preferable sound signature as you play around with more stuff and it can turn out not to be what you thought it was at first.
Those are the same comments I've said when listening to the Abyss 1266 with the RSA B-21 Raider prototype. The final version is even better as it's now tuned to be neutral to the source.
Hi guys. I used to live my music. And using my headphones. But for the last 10 years now. I lost the hearing in the left ears.. If i put the level way up on the left i can hear something coming through. Which fills the sound back to stero a bit. God, you lose so much when this happens. A plane coming to you. You canot tell where its coming from. Anyway hope your info helps others.

I recently added a Fosi SK05 preamp/headphone amp to eq the sound and power my headphones. Best $75 that I’ve spent on audio gear in a while.
