RAF Chinook pilot gets shot in the head.
RAF Chinook pilot Ian Fortune was hoping for an easy flight. Flying his RAF Chinook to rescue a wounded US Marine he needs to be quick if he is to save a life.
Accidentally flying over a Taliban machine gun position the Chinook is badly shot up. To make maters worse, the Chinook pilot himself has taken a head shot.
Despite taking a headshot from the Taliban machine gun, Ian Fortune refuses to give up and flys his stricken Chinook back to the RAF base at Camp Bastion.

The Aircraft during this mission is the Chinook Bravo November. It is the lone surviving Chinook that served in the Falklands and every other action the RAF supported since. BN was recently retired and is now on display at the RAF Museum at Cosford. This is story depicts the events which lead to the 4th DFC awarded to a pilot at the controls of BN since its service at the Falklands.

Idk if it was the Afghan war but my uncle was in a war and when he was doing the speed rope he fell and his gun hit his shoulder met and his shoulder broke I think idk
