My 95 year old mother belonged to Jhelum before partition. Her family & Gujral family had close relations. My mother remembers her house in Baag Mohalla & then later on in Railway Road Colony. UTTAM NIWAS was her house in Railway Road Colony. My nanaji ( Sardar Uttam Singh Pahuja) had three shops in Main Bazaar.
So many decades have passed, but my mother remembers everything so clearly….her school, friends, neighbourhood etc. I wish she could go back to her roots & see her beloved Jhelum but alas! She’s too old to travel now!

Could u believe that this house was later bought by my Nana Jaan. I spent my whole childhood in this house.Every corner has a story of our life . our (all cousins )most favorite home ❤😢 this video brought me back in 1997 😢

Feeling very nostalgic & melancholic. Spent my teen age , school & College days in Jhelum. Cycling around the city, visiting that historical library , going to book corner ....hanging out with friends on the river back ..days lost to time !!

Thanks a lot for showing my native districit Jhelum. I am from PD Khan tehsil of jhelum. Someday go to PD Khan its a very historical town near khewra salt mines. A native town of Raja ghazanfar ali khan,right hand of Jinnah and one of the pioneers of freedom.

Wonderful. Being a student of history, I love the way you explore it!!! There is an old 4 stories Sikh haveli, some say 400 years old in Kauntrilla village tehsil Gujarkhan. It is in a bad shape but govt is not taking any interest. This is age old architecture of our land which must be preserved!
Inder Kumar Gujral visited his house two times but he viaited the house adjacent to it. That house is divided in two and major portion is rebuilt. When that house was one, I used to go there for tution in upper story. My cousin used to live on ground floor. I know this because I used to live in the neighborhood at that time.
