In todays vlog, I take you along with me to do some lift gate drops. Any time you have a route like this you will be going to smaller places that don't have. dock for the most part. Also, you are calling customers trying to make sure someone will be available for the delivery so it can be frustrating at times but I enjoy the change of pace. I tried to deliver to an apartment complex that was being remodeled and because the contractor was not present they refused to sign for the product. This will happen from time to to time and you just let dispatch know and move one to the next stop. Hope you enjoyed the vlog and will subscribe to the channel and come back for more of a day in the life of an LTL driver.
Your message at the beginning of this clip was meant for me. I do know that I thank you and sometimes I'm worried about change. But like you said it's meant to take you up not down thank you again and thank you for all your video clips. I love it I'm disabled can't get out as much as I wish so I watch your video clips that way I feel like I'm traveling too thank you again I couldn't thank you enough
Good positive video and true, 18 years as a engineer with the railroad and I was in that rut and the terminal manager looked at me crazy when he found out how many years I had with the railroad and now I wouldn’t change a thing I love the P&D life. 040 saying hello again.
Just wanted to say, I appreciate the positivity! Really helps nowadays
I appreciate you stopping by the channel. It’s always better to see the possibilities in people than their flaws. Have a blessed weekend!!
I needed that positivity today. It was definitely me you were speaking to.
Thanks Jimmie as always for stopping by. Sometimes we all just need some positivity. Have a blessed weekend!!
The Black Mamba - great to see that car make an appearance. Miss those days!!
Those were good times for sure. C8Z will be an awesome time as well. 😎
@@TheTulsaTrucker estes every send you in those tight spots with a 53footer??
Man i drive nights now and the best thing is getting off work in the morning and getting breakfast for "dinner" love it
Great words of advice. Love how you speaking from the heart sir! Keep up the good work.
Thank you brother, I needed to here that. Enjoying your videos. Starting my LTL career getting a lot of good insight from you.
Thanks Mario, I really think you will like LTL. Keep me updated how things are going.
@@TheTulsaTrucker i sure will.
@@TheTulsaTrucker whats the difference between Shuttle runs and line haul?
I truly admire your pup backing skills. I really hate backing pups. I have to go slow because I found them unforgiving compared to a van.
Your right Chuck, Country Sausage Gravy goes good on everything, all day long. We actually have a restaurant up here in WI that keeps it on the menu all day long, all year long. One of their best sellers is the Chicken Fried Steak & Eggs, served 24/7.
Just put the application in today for Troops2Transport, hoping this career change will lift me out of homelessness. Looking forward to a good many years to come.
Much success to you ELD!!
When my daughter was young she told me she just new she was gonna flunk her math test,I told her that i would like too see her be positive!
She replied,Dad I am POSITIVE that i am going to flunk my math test!! Oh brother.......enjoying your journey, keep up the great work!
Thanks for another positive message, Chuck! As much as I liked your Z06 and ZR1, I liked your wife’s GS Collector Edition even better. That Tension Blue 3LT interior was great!
I would have to agree with you Todd!!! Have a blessed weekend Sir Thank you as always!!
@@TheTulsaTrucker I hope you’re doing good chuck
God. I needed to hear your message today Chuck! Even though this was recorded a while ago, it is still fresh and moving. God bless you Chuck!
Loved the Black Mamba, that was a sweet Z06.
Yes she was!! Thanks Rich for stopping by the channel!!
Huge fan of breakfast at anytime. Love “senior Google!” 😂❤
Chuck! You're movin on up from the day cab nobody wants to drive! Enjoying the video as I type this. I can do breakfast for dinner! 😃
Hey Bryan, I know right. I am definitely moving up the food chain. 😂🤣😂. Thanks my friend as always!!
@@TheTulsaTrucker you're welcome!
Hey hey I would love to drive a day cab ain't nothing wrong with that 😂😂😂
OMG, I just looked back at your old videos and I remember you from when you first came to Prime!!!! Haha, nice to see your journey 😀😀
Chuck i just want to let you know I appreciate your words of knowledge, I just got my Cdl man agian I appreciate those words
Congratulations Mr. Gomez on getting your CDL. That’s a huge accomplishment!! That license opens allot of doors for you. You have a bright future. Thanks for stopping by the channel. I appreciate the comment!!
I have to agree with you in the beginning of the video. I was working for a company for three years when they suddenly let me go. I didn't much like it there but was comfortable. Now I just got my class A and am waiting to go on the road.
Love your positivity! It really lifts my spirit. Thanks mate
Thank you for the intro. I needed that reminder.
Thank you for those good words in the beginning of the video.
Man I can’t wait to start! Just got the background check email this morning 🤙
That’s awesome news Freddy!! I think you will enjoy Estes!!
How long did your background check take? Mine has been going since the 13th of December!
Don’t really remember but no longer than 2 weeks
I needed that! Haha keep the videos coming bro love em !
Thanks Rogelio for stopping by the channel. Glad you are apart of the community. I appreciate you leaving a comment. Have a blessed day!!
I though that was you. Welcome back
Thanks Jim!!
Love the corvette news!!
Yea, 2nd year of the C8Z me and Rick will be making it happen. 👍🏻
Can’t wait! Hopefully you get the old 918 up and running!! You and Rick are the reasons I picked myself up a 2019 grand sport last year. Black on black like your mamba!!
@@TheTulsaTrucker @ 8:11 you should be on the opposite side from where you are standing just in case he accidentally pulls too much and the pallet lands on top of you. All it takes is one mistake or distraction from forklift driver and you will get seriously injured. 😟 Stay safe at all times !!!!!
@@ericsandhu6253 congratulations, they are a fun and amazing car!!
@@williamhorvat8224 totally agree, always learning
For some people Breakfast happens at 5 pm. I know this because it did for Me for 3 Years, because My Work Day was 7 pm until 7 am.
Hey man how are you I now u was made because he didn’t won’t to put his name on it have a great day and keep the video rolling lol and be blessed
Encouragement is always useful...keep it coming
If ya turn your life in God' hands then life will be alot better. Those low days seems lighter because you can turn that circumstance in a postive when you give it to God. My favorite place to eat breakfast is at my Mom's or my Wife's kitchen table. Mmmm! That's some good ole eatin there. Cat eye biscuits when sausage gravy, fried taters or fried green tomaters. Got my mouth waterin and I had that for breakfast.
Love the videos, great positivity just what I needed 👍
Chuck, I needed that. Thank you.
Many blessings to you Joel!! 👍🏻
LOL, Chuck is gettin his kicks on route 66.
Love the Corvette 918 channel!
Breakfast is good anytime of day!
biscuit and gravy is an anytime meal
Another great video thank’s Chuck
Thanks Mike as always for stopping by the channel and for the comment. Very much appreciated!!
I needed that opener. Thnks
My breakfast spot is actually old fashioned classic dinet
When your tight for room and can’t spin that pallet around on the tail then drop that lift gate and spin it around on that lift gate maybe extra time but your not risking anything with having them to drag the pallet
One of my customers unloaded my entire 53’ trailer that way... crazy
Breakfast for dinner is all that. I think you should come back on the road if only for 5 or 6 months just to see what it's like doing it solo
I am going Line Haul in a few weeks 5 days out 2 days home. That’s about all I want to do. I can’t hang with that No Hippie 😁
@@TheTulsaTrucker I know you don't need the money. That's a nice part time gig..😆
@@TheTulsaTrucker did you have to start out P&D in order for them to offer you line haul?
@@theyloveashley22 You don’t have to start out in P&D before going Line Haul but that’s all they had open at the time. When the line haul became available I took the opportunity.
Enjoyed the video.
Thanks Gerald 👍🏻
I’m starting on the dock in 2 weeks! My goal is to get my cdl and do this type of delivery. I currently do this type of delivery at my current job but it’s all non cdl straight truck and I need a challenge. Lol
P&D will be exactly what you are looking for then. Starting on the dock will be a great way to getting introduced to freight and will help you when you get your CDL and start the P&D journey. Much success to you Alex.
@@TheTulsaTrucker Thanks dude.
We Teamster never put the ramp, Let the receiver do it
Breakfast anytime of the day or night.
When you did your first stop since you had a dock you should have moved the pallets to the end already so you open it up and they just pull it out saves me the headache too driver because sometimes these Estes pallets come up messed up 🤣
Definitely a good point. I normally don't run the liftgate route and am always hitting docks but point definitely taken. I appreciate that feedback.
From Australia, great vid's are you a blue state or red state?? Thank's
Good information thanks!!
Thanks Jerry for the comment and stopping by the channel!!
Not a bad gig man, thx for the vid
Definitely
Chuck do you preload all. Your deliveries in order in your GPS? Be fun if you include this parts in your fun wonderful 😊 videos
I do not, I just tackle them one at a time. The doc loads the trailers and I run them as they are. 👍🏻
I think im gonna go to trucking school soon.. Seems like a secure job and we'll paid
Yes it is. Once you get your CDL and all your endorsements along with a year experience you can pretty much work anywhere. LTL is a great place to drive. You can be a line haul driver making 100k a year starting off. Much success to you sir.
For breakfast I prefer Waffle House. I can see how clean the kitchen are is and see them cook my food unlike other places. And it tastes the same from Miami to Pennsylvania
Seeing you work with out gloves is cringeworthy but I enjoy watching your vids
Have worked outdoors the past 19 years. Me and gloves just don’t get along but I do use them when fueling. 🤣. I appreciate you watching
What kind of phone mount do you have? It looks sturdy, I’ve been looking for something good
amzn.to/3pdw5oi
I have had it for several years and works great. Thanks for stopping by the channel, hope the link helps.
Breakfast 24/7!
Yeah I'm in a small town called Alto Texas about 1300 people and everybody knows everybody I know a lady that owns a cafe and I always there all the time but breakfast is until 10:30 and if you don't know everybody here in Alto you haven't been here long enough
Small towns hav their advantages for sure!
What do they start you out at doing P&D? And do you have to work the dock a lot like YRC or ABF?
No dock needed. $25.55 is starting pay at the moment.
@@noahater5785 you think he makes $25 a day driving a truck Lmmfao
would you please tell me when and how often you do your deliveries pulling a 53f trailer?
because all i see is pubs for delivery which is nice ! i woudl not like be on a 53 in areas where is not very semi truck friendly....
I am trying to get on LTL . thanks for posting vids like this one!
When I did P&D if you have a route you are always in a 53. If you are a floater then you may be in a pup going to places you can’t get a 53 into.
Just put out your lift thinge on the trailer.
How do you get your phone to stick on the wall of the trailer am at Central Transport right now just getting my experience and get a better paying job
I don't understand the Breakfast All Day people.. I just want a damn Cheeseburger at 7am
😂😂
I can always eat breakfast...although hold the gravy... lol
Hey chuck just Curious what ever happened to you at prime ?
The OTR lifestyle just wasn’t for me and my family at the time. Staying out for 3-4 weeks and sitting at shippers and receivers all the time just didn’t work for me. Thanks for stopping by the channel. Have a blessed weekend!!
I don’t like eating breakfast style foods any other time except first thing in the morning, I can’t eat bacon eggs biscuits etc before 9am I just can’t do it. My fav breakfast spot is Waffle House 🤷♂️
I no longer let customers sign my invoice. I just ask there name, and take a picture of the property. I blame it on "covid precautions", P+D is so much easily now :p
Do you have a Corvette now?
Not currently waiting on market to come back to earth
Love breakfast all day!!! Miss my waffle house and family diner!!!
Yea Sir, love the new Avatar you got their sir!!
@@TheTulsaTrucker I'm saving for C8 Z06😂
What ya got for me today Chief? How many ya got?
Those roads are terrible!
Had a question about getting my cdl in manual
??
Was wondering what kinda money can you make doing this ?
70-75k is average but can definitely make more.
My sorry
Man, white country gravy should be in its own food group, said group to be venerated above all other gravies and sauces. lol
Hey Chuck
Bellow Adrian 👊🏻
still shaking lol
Anyone in the comments did food service delivery first then switched to a p&d driver can say is it way easier and how many stops a day can a p&d driver average a day?
P&D averages 15-20 stops
LTL is way easier on your body that beverage or food service.
@@TheTulsaTrucker it seems like it definitely is easier I’ve applied to some places but don’t have a full year experience yet main thing that sucks with food and beverage is delivering to customers where you have to go up or down stairs
My I ask you a question how do you get a job like yours
You need a CDL and all the endorsements and 1 year driving experience.
I can eat breakfast anytime!
Definitely!!
$100K over sticker for C8 Z06. No way I want one that badly.
Patrick
I didn’t see anybody not signing for something
You didn’t see me get out and talk to the lady at the apartment? I mentioned she wouldn’t sign for the shipment because it was for the contractor therefore she wouldn’t sign for the playground equipment.
@@TheTulsaTrucker oh ok
Hi
Hi Matt!! 👊🏻
😀
Zakaria
💪🏽👍🏽
How tough or not was the CDL A PTI test? Doing it in the next few weeks , last two weeks of Trucking School 🏫
If you have the Pre-trip down you will be just fine. Use those get out and looks during the backing portion and call out your signs during the drivers test and watch the stale green light. You will be just fine. Welcome to the CDL club.
Cracker Barrel
Definitely a go to for breakfast
Waffle House for sure
😀
