    The F-104 is a special plane! In stock form its tail heavy so you really gotta be careful on landings. But man in a steep dive its no joke!! Thats what I used to do with mine back in the day. Take it up until its a speck and then split is and punch it!! Mine is getting new gear and the Viper 90 inrunner… should be even better now!!!

    • @RCPlaneReviewer
      @RCPlaneReviewer  Рік тому +2

      I bet that Viper 90mm EDF will definitely make it faster

      @@RCPlaneReviewer the biggest issue with the F-104 is the motor location. So the original FMS fan I used was way livhter than stock and the new Viper 90mm set up is barely heavier but a much better inrunner!! Gonna take some work but should be worth it in the end!!

    133 is gettin’ it!! Like you, I’d have thought it would have been a handful and would have dropped like a rock in the turns, but happy to see I was wrong! Looks like it handles well for a manned missile!! Great flying!

    Bobby , I carry about 15 DEG on the flaps for takeoff , an use that for landing also , full is overkill , the air brakes not so often , move the c.g. back a little an you can get the nose up more on landing , an takeoff, whtch the ELE control horn , it can come loose an screw everything up , Been there done that !!

    That was the best way to go about it. Start a flare when you're coming in and up just a few feet, then if you get a good feel of the sink rate and it's going fast enough to not drop like a brick, then just let it drop itself and land. Don't try to flare again after the first flare if it started lifting up as it did. In other words just take the darn landing as good enough in one piece.

    I do agree 100%, it has to be intimidating. Maybe an SR71 would be worse, but Chuck Yeager flew both :) and only crashed one

    Love y’all’s channel! Your commentary is concise and informative. Only problem is for 90% of the video you can’t see the plane. It’s not bad camera work, it’s bad choice of lens-you know, I’m not smart enough to describe what I’m trying to say but I know that there are other lenses or aspect ratios or whatever they call it that would bring down that panoramic view to a view in which you could see the jet without having to zoom in. Does anyone know what I’m trying to say! Haha!
    Anyway, as it is right now your jet looks like a spec in an ocean of blue sky. Until you fly it really close you can’t see anything.
    Oh well, sorry to bother you. Still a fun video of an iconic jet! And very well flown-at least I THINK it was! Haha!
    Thanks!

      It's one off Amazon that uses blue tooth..you don't get live speed data but it records and then send results to your phone when you a few feet away.

    Subscribed. I wish you the best. Plan to purchase. If your interested. I designed a F104 window vinyl. Glad to send one to you. Love the sound and speed. The designer, Lockheed's Kelly Johnson designed this for max 2.1 mach. did you know today 2023 it still holds the record for sea level to 80k feet vertical climb. And it flys higher than the F22 raptor or the F35. You guys empower. thanks for all of you making this video. And you sir, the Pilot are incredible. RIght now I fly a wonderful RC S-23 glider. RC is a wonderful hobby. do not know how to contact you for the vinyl if interested. I backseated F14D, F4 Phantom, a P51mustang, and a P47 T Bolt. the F4 was to me the ost thrilling for balls to the wall speed. GOD bless, be safe and enjoy your youths.

    Man, nicely done with the widowmaker -:) I REALLY wish I had gotten the 70mm before it was gone, heard it's easier to fly, being lighter. I'm shocked that it doesn't need HUGE amounts of elevator pull in the turns, nice that it does not though. I'm pretty experienced, should be able to handle it, but DANG! I know I'd be super nervous!! Thanks for the review, because it seems few people review this one 😁
