    Awesome to see you in our facilities Bjørn! You are the first with such access, so expect your footage to be scrutinized by other battery manufacturers going forward :)
    Hope to see you here again later this year.

    Cannot wait for Pt2 in August, this was interesting to see but a working battery factory in Europe will be even more fascinating. As a non-tech person the explanations from your guide were excellent and not too techy for even a non technical person to understand. Hopefully he will get to be your guide on the 2nd visit.

    2:18 LNMO is a next generation high voltage cathode material for Lithium Ion Batteries. At the moment no mass produced batteries use it because of the technical challenges (making the cathode material itself work and finding an electrolyte that doesn't decompose at the higher voltage). I really hope they (or somebody) will manage to pull it off soon.

    Great video. I wonder how much power consumption the plant will be using, I.E. making 1 GWh worth of batteries, will the plant consume more than 1 GWh of power.
    I hope to see the follow-up video when the plant is running soon.

    Where are they getting the raw materials Lithium for production ? Majority of the lithium is being used by Tesla cars and Chinese made cars. Who are their customers? German car makers or Tesla? With Tesla Cybertrucks coming on production ,they will be hungry for even more Lithium

    • @sa34w

      China knows to reduce prices with state subsidies so every other company on the planet goes bankrupt. It’s monopolistic in nature so relying on them as the only source of energy is bad news for energy independence. It’s like relying on Russia for fossil fuels but worse

    • @myungus
      @myungus 7 місяців тому +2

      This is just the "pilot" factory. The needed stepping stone from R&D to giga scale. After all 3 giga modules are built, the total will be 43GWh

    • @waynerussell6401
      @waynerussell6401 7 місяців тому

      @@myungus What R&D? These are known battery chemistry and form factors. The Koreans are doing it. The Chinese do it. Its a copy and paste operation. But no sense of scale or needs analysis?! Not enough funding? Same lack of urgency and caution than the Auto OEMS are showing, intending to step carefully into a loss making enterprise while the Earth burns!
      Go big or go home. This is tokenism.
