You interviewed Jamie fucking King ! That guy is a legend ! It's awesome that he chose to speak to a small channel instead of a corporate channel like IGN.
great interview the fun way he responds shows what R* was like in the past. Today I see that Take Two's eyes have grown, smothering the creative minds and that's why they left... yes I wanted a GTA 6 but I have doubts it will be a good game.
Idk if I'd want a GTA game that isn't "edgy" or "funny". It could work I guess, but these games immerse me because of what they've built over the years.
@@tylercouture216 Go play another games then. GTA was always about such humor. GTA 1 had a separate button for farting, it was like that from the very beginning. Steller interview! It's interesting to hear how Sam was already jumping the gun to make The Warriors before they were even that big! It's pretty insane to think how big they were thinking back then. It's also interesting to hear how Take-Two wasn't allowed to interfere with the projects. Ryan Brantback really understood Rockstars Vision and was confident in their ideas. Unlike soul-sucking leach Strauss Zelnick and his clown posse of investors. He will be missed as Ryan passed back in March 2019. It makes more and more sense why Dan and Lesslie either left on their own terms or got dropped. The games industry owes a lot to Jamie, Sam, Dan, Lazlow, Craig, Terry, Lesslie, and all the others who pushed the medium! Without their innovation who knows what the industry would've become today as Rockstar's games influenced many creators and studios. & If Dan houser ever wrote a book I would buy it asap. One thing I love about Rockstar is the fact that their games really are not aimed at nerds and are much more grounded. They make the type of games I love.
You should have asked him about how they went from helping modders to Strauss Zelnick sending goons after modders AND their families and asked him about The Gamechangers documentary.
Rockstar’s story reminds me so much about the making of The Godfather to an extent: Take-Two CEO Ryan Brant is Gulf+Western CEO Charles Bludhorn, Rockstar President Sam Houser is Paramount Pictures President Robert Evans and Rockstar CPO Jamie King is The Godfather Producer Al Ruddy
Once Leslie (the creator of GTA Online co-producer of GTA5) left now Dan Houser it can't never be the same. The core of game has gone if Sam Houser ( who actually writes all the games) leaves RS is tipple fucked. GTA6 won't be the same the world has changed so drastically satire is dead you can't make fun of anyone otherwise you'd cancelled. It's a weird pussyfied world we are living in now. I'd prefer GTA6 never comes out it would ruin the experience for me. We had a good thing let's just leave it for what it was.
I'm pretty sure Jamie left because of this: "Defendants primarily profited from these successes - the Housers through bonuses and royalties and the entities through sales profits. Mr. Benzies and the Rockstar North team, largely responsible for these sales figures, initially received comparatively minor bonuses. Recognizing that Mr. Benzies and his team were critical to the franchise’s continuing success, Take-Two implemented the “2006 Royalty Plan” by which they received fixed and guaranteed per-game-sold royalties on subsequent games such as GTA Vice City, GTA San Andreas, and GTA IV." He wasn't included in this Royalty Plan as a "Rockstar Principal", he was a co-founder of the company, that must have been pretty harsh.
Astonishing interview! If you really listen to Jamie, you can really see how much the R* founders were putting a lot of their passions and efforts into the games they made that fans really loved before. Direction was super clear that they knew they had always a vision to create very special games. After seeing names like Leslie Benzies, Dan Houser left the house, moreover when Leslie had a nasty event where his device to enter R* facility was deactivated by someone, I'm not enthusiastic anymore that they will create more passionate games in the future. T2, especially after Strauss Zelnick takeover, has really messed up with the vision and what they're doing now as Jamie said that 'printing money', it sounds to me just like they sucked the love that R* has built from their fans after all these years by making them spend more money on useless contents. Glad I was not part of this new scheme and I do not look forward to GTA 6 as well since they kept changing their direction after Dan Houser left. I cannot expect anything rather than to just say so long R* Games. I will cherish every moment I had when playing all of you masterpieces from GTA 3 to GTA IV and Midnight Club 3 too
Thank you for the interview but what the hell happened with the executive decision with the Definitive Edition!? This is such a shit stain on R* right now Edit: Never mind, the company’s direction is changed now and many original developers and staff members left the company a long time ago

Just like evey game development company. Most from the 90's/00's dont even have the same team. People move on. New people join
