    i spent $50 at a junk yard and got the sensor already inside the column. i didnt take the sensor out and put it in my column. i just put the junk yard column in my car. i didnt get a brand new part, but i did save about $700 and fixed the problem.

    once you install it it doesn't need to be calibrated, should work right away. Also once you take the column and motor apart check the 1inch rubber thats in between, they suffer from that, if the rubber is damaged your steering won't work, very very tricky! if you get the c0450 code with a 64 malfunction(steering slipping) its this little piece of rubber thats broken! if its just c0450 then your motor is dead.

    I have noticed that some days my 2007 Pontiac G6 starts in the morning without power steering, then magically later it works fine. GM insists that I have no recalls for my VIN of G6.

      Has to be calibrated. Unfortunately has to be done at the dealership.

      @@TheHarrisal21 I am a tech that replaced this sensor on a customers car. Installed it perfect just like the video showed and wheel spun to left. I tried calibrating with my Snap-on modus and it wouldn't connect. I found an artical on identifix about this issue and it gave me a code to give to the dealer. The dealer tells me to bring it in to be calibrated. The next day and 150 bucks later I get the car back with the same problem and the dealer says the sensor was installed incorrectly. However he never disassembled the steering colomn he said he's seen this issue a million times and it's from installing the torque sensor wrong. I have an 85 year old customer and her daughter breathing down my back and in the mean time one of my employees backed into the side of her car...... Merry Freaking X-mass to me lol. Any advise?

    • @ramonvalenzuela7642
      @ramonvalenzuela7642 5 років тому

      If your steering wheel turns to the left or right as soon as the key is turned on, youve installed the sensor incorrectly. The sensor was not aligned coreectly with the clip it csme with. Remove the sensor and check its aligned correctly with the clip.
